Turn Signal Indicator
Light
This indicator light blinks:
When you turn the turn signal light on.
If any of the following occurs, there
may be a malfunction with the turn
signal system. In this case, have your
vehicle inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer. - The indicator light does not blinkbut illuminates.
- The indicator light blinks more rapidly.
- The indicator light does not illumi- nate at all.
High Beam Indicator
Light
This indicator light illuminates:
When the headlights are on and in the high beam position
When the turn signal lever is pulled into the Flash-to-Pass position.
Light ON Indicator Light
This indicator light illuminates:
When the tail lights or headlightsare on.
Front Fog Indicator
Light (if equipped)
This indicator light illuminates:
When the front fog lights are on.
Low Beam IndicatorLight (if equipped)
This indicator light illuminates:
When the headlights are on.

Battery saver function
The purpose of this feature is to
prevent the battery from being dis-
charged if the lights are left in the
ON position. The system automati-
cally shuts off the parking lights 30
seconds after the ignition key is
removed and the driver’s door is
opened and closed.
With this feature, the parking lights will turn off automatically if the driver
parks on the side of the road at night
and opens the driver’s side door.
If necessary, to keep the parking
lights on when the ignition key is
removed, perform the following:
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parking lights OFF and ON again using the light switch
on the steering column.
Daytime running light
(if equipped)
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
can make it easier for others to see
the front of your vehicle during the
day. DRL can be helpful in many dif-
ferent driving conditions, and it is
especially helpful after dawn and
before sunset.
The DRL system turns OFF when:
1. The headlight switch is ON.
2. The engine is OFF.
3. The front fog light is ON.
4. Engaging the parking brake.
Lighting control
The light switch has a Headlight and
a Parking light position.
To operate the lights, turn the knob at
the end of the control lever to one of
the following positions:
(1) OFF position
(2) Auto light position
(3) Parking & Tail light
(4) Headlight position

(Continued) When front visibility is poor - When the lamp of the on-com-ing or front vehicle is coveredwith dust, snow or water.
- When the light from the on- coming or front vehicle is notdetected because of exhaustfume, smoke, fog, snow, etc.
- When the front window is cov- ered with foreign matters.
- When it is hard to see because of fog, heavy rain orsnow and etc.(Continued)
- When driving on a narrowcurved road, rough road,downhill or uphill.
- When only part of the vehicle in front is visible on a cross-road or curved road.
- When there is a traffic light, reflecting sign, flashing signor mirror ahead.
- When there is a temporary reflector or flash ahead (con-struction area).
- When the road conditions are bad such as being wet, iced orcovered with snow.
- When a vehicle suddenly appears from a curve.
- When the vehicle is tilted from a flat tire or being towed.

The High Beam Assist systemmay not work properly in the fol-lowing situations:
When the light from a vehicle is poor
- When the light from a vehicle is not detected because oflamp damage, hidden fromsight, etc.
- When the lamp of a vehicle is covered with dust, snow orwater.
- When a vehicle's headlamps are off but the fog lamps onand etc.
When external condition is intervened
- When there is a similar shape as a vehicle's lamps.
- When the headlamp is not repaired or replaced at anauthorized dealer.
- When headlamp aiming is not properly adjusted.

If an indicator stays on and does not
flash or if it flashes abnormally, one of
the turn signal bulbs may be burned
out and will require replacement.
✽ ✽NOTICE
If an indicator flash is abnormally
quick or slow, a bulb may be burned
out or have a poor electrical connec-
tion in the circuit.
Front fog light (if equipped)
Fog lights are used to provide
improved visibility when visibility is
poor due to fog, rain or snow, etc. The
fog lights will turn on when the fog light
switch (1) is turned to the on position
after the headlights are turned on.
To turn off the fog lights, turn the
switch (1) to the off position.
When in operation, the fog lights
consume large amounts of vehicle
electrical power. Only use the fog
lights when visibility is poor.

Air conditioning
Press the A/C button to turn the air
conditioning system on (indicator
light will illuminate). Press the button
again to turn the air conditioning sys-
tem off.
System operation
Ventilation
1.Set the mode to the position.
2.Set the air intake control to the out-side (fresh) air position.
3.Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4.Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
Heating
1.Set the mode to the position.
2.Set the air intake control to the out-side (fresh) air position.
3.Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4.Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
5.If dehumidified heating is desired, turn the air conditioning system (if
equipped) on.
If the windshield fogs up, set the mode to the or position. Operation Tips
To keep dust or unpleasant fumes
from entering the vehicle through
the ventilation system, temporarily
set the air intake control to the
recirculated air position. Be sure to
return the control to the fresh air
position when the irritation has
passed to keep fresh air in the
vehicle. This will help keep the driv-
er alert and comfortable.
Air for the heating/cooling system is drawn in through the grilles just
ahead of the windshield. Care
should be taken that these are not
blocked by leaves, snow, ice or
other obstructions.
To prevent interior fog on the wind- shield, set the air intake control to
the fresh air position and fan speed
to the desired position, turn on the
air conditioning system, and adjust
the temperature control to desired

Press the front blower OFF button to
turn off the front air climate control
system. However, you can still oper-
ate the mode and air intake buttons
as long as the ignition switch is in the
ON position.
WARNING - Recirculated
Air
Continued use of the climate
control system in the recirculat-
ed air position can cause
drowsiness or sleepiness, and
loss of vehicle control. Set the
air intake control to the outside
(fresh) air position as much as
possible while driving.
WARNING - Sleeping with
A/C on
Do not sleep in a vehicle with
the air conditioning or heating
on as this may cause serious
harm or death due to a drop in
the oxygen level and/or body
temperature.
WARNING -Reduced
Visibility
Continuous use of the climate
control system in the recirculat-
ed air position may allow
humidity to increase inside the
vehicle which may fog the glass
and obscure visibility.

- The vehicle in front is driving errat-ically
- Backlight is reflected in the direc- tion of the vehicle (including front
light from the vehicle ahead)
- Moisture on the windscreen is not completely removed or frozen.
- The weather is misty.
- The vehicle in front does not turn ON the rear lights, does not have
rear lights, has asymmetric rear
lights, or has rear lights out of
angle.
- The vehicle is on unpaved or uneven rough surfaces, or roads
with sudden gradient changes
- The vehicle is moving under ground level or inside a building
- If a sudden change in the sensor recognition takes place whilst
passing through a speed bump,
- When the vehicle is severely shak- en,
- When driving around a circular intersection with a vehicle or object
in front - If the front of the camera lens is
contaminated by front glass tinting,
film, water repellent coating, dam-
age on glass, or foreign matter
(sticker, insect, etc.)
- The camera or camera lens is damaged.
- If the headlights of the vehicle are not used at night or in a tunnel sec-
tion, or the light is too weak
- If street light or the light of the vehi- cle coming from the opposite direc-
tion reflected or when sunlight
direction reflected by water on the
road surface
- When the back light is projected in the direction of the vehicle's motion
(including the headlights of vehi-
cles)
- Road sign, shadow on the road, tunnel entrance, toll gate, partial
pavement
- If the windshield has moisture on its surface or if windshield freezes,
- Driving in the fog.
- When objects are out of the sens- ing range of the camera - Driving on a curve
The FCA performance may be limit-
ed while driving on a curve. The FCA
may not recognize the vehicle in front
even if in the same lane. IIt may pro-
duce the warning message and the
warning alarm prematurely, or it may
not produce the warning message or
the warning alarm at all. When driv-
ing on a curve, exercise caution,
maintain a safe braking distance,
and if necessary, depress the brake
pedal to reduce your driving speed in
order to maintain a safe distance.

Do not use the FCA systemwhen towing a vehicle. Cancel
the FCA in the User Settings
on the LCD display before
towing. Brake application by
the FCA system while towing
may adversely affect your
safety.
Use extreme caution when the vehicle in front of you has
cargo that extends rearward
from the cab, or when the
vehicle in front of you has
higher ground clearance.
The FCA system is designed to detect and monitor the
vehicle ahead or detect a
pedestrian in the roadway
through radar signals and
camera recognition. It is not
designed to detect bicycles,
motorcycles, or smaller
wheeled objects such as lug-
gage bags, shopping carts, or
strollers.

DRIVER’S ATTENTION
The driver must be cautious in the
following situations may not work
properly when recognition of the
lane marker is poor or limited :
  When lane and road condition is
poor
• It is difficult to distinguish the lane marker from road when the lane
marker is covered with dust or
sand.
• It is difficult to distinguish the color of the lane marker from
road.
• There is something that looks like a lane marker.
• The lane marker is indistinct or damaged.
• The number of lanes increases/ decreases or the lane lines are
crossing (Driving through a toll
plaza/toll gate, merged/divided
lane).
• There are more than two lane markers.
• The lane marker is very thick or thin. (Continued)(Continued)
• The lane marker is not visible due
to snow, rain, stain, a puddle or
other factors.
• A shadow is on the lane marker because of a median strip,
guardrail, noise barriers or other
objects.
• When the lane markers are com- plicated or a structure substitutes
for the lines such as a construc-
tion area.
• There are crosswalk signs or other symbols on the road.
• The lane suddenly disappears such as at the intersection.
• The lane marker in a tunnel is cov- ered with dirt or oil, etc.
  When external conditions inter-
fere
• The brightness of outside changes suddenly when entering/exiting a
tunnel or passing under a bridge.
• The headlamps are not on at night or in a tunnel, or light level is low.
• There is a boundary structure in the roadway. (Continued)(Continued)
• The light of street, sun, oncoming
vehicle and so on reflects from the
water on the road.
• When light shines brightly from behind the vehicle.
• The distance from the vehicle ahead is very short or the vehicle
ahead covers up the lane line.
• You drive on a steep grade or a sharp curve.
• The vehicle vibrates heavily.
• The temperature near inside mir- ror is very high due to direct sun
light and etc.
  When front visibility is poor
• The lens or windshield is covered by foreign materials.
• The sensor cannot detect the lane because of fog, heavy rain or snow.
• The windshield is fogged by humid air in the vehicle.
• There is an object on the dash- board that interferes with the
camera.
