Accessing the web manual via QR 
codes
You can view the web manual of the system by scanning QR codes with your smartphone.
 \334Warning
Park your vehicle in a safe location before scanning the QR code. For safety reasons, you are 
not able to access QR codes from the system′s screen while the vehicle is moving.
1 Select one of the following methods to access a QR code.
 \225On the system′s Home screen, press  All Menus > User′s Manual.
 \225 On the system′s Home screen, press  All Menus > Setup  > General  > System Info  > 
User′s Manual on Web (QR Code) .
 \225Alternatively, find the QR code in the Quick Reference Guide.
2 Install a QR code reader app from 
the App Store (
) or the Google Play 
Store (
) and scan a QR code.
3 On your smartphone's screen, press 
the URL for the web manual.
 \225 You can view the web manual of the 
system in the Internet browser app of your 
smartphone.
 \225Depending on how you scan the QR code, 
you may be able to open the web manual 
without pressing its URL.

Turning the system on or off
Turning on the system
1 To turn on the system, start the engine.
2 When the safety warning appears, read it and press Confirm.
 \225To change the system language, press  Language.

severe bodily injury, or death. The driver′s primary responsibility is the safe and legal 
operation of the vehicle, and the use of any vehicle systems, including the touch screen 
and steering wheel controls, which take the driver′s eyes, attention, and focus away from 
the safe operation of the vehicle, or which are not permissible by law, should never be 
used during the operation of the vehicle.
 \225Some functions may be disabled for safety reasons while the vehicle is moving. They work 
only when the vehicle stops. Park your vehicle in a safe location before using any of them. 
In a manual transmission vehicle, apply the parking brake to use the functions. In an 
automatic transmission vehicle, shift to ″P″ (Park) or apply the parking brake.
 \225Stop using the system if it malfunctions, such as no audio output or display. If you 
continue using the system when it is malfunctioning, it may lead to a fire, electric shock, or 
system failure.
 \335 Caution
 \225You can turn on the system when the key ignition switch is placed in the ″ACC″ or ″ON″ 
position. Using the system for an extended period without the engine running drains the 
battery. If you plan on using the system for a long time, start the engine.
 \225If you turn on your system without starting the engine, a battery warning will appear. 
Once the engine starts, the battery warning will disappear.

The following explains how to turn the 
system on or off.
Turning on the system
1 To turn on the system, start the 
engine.
2 When the safety warning 
appears, read it and press

On the Home screen, press  All Menus 
>  Setup  > Sound  > Priority , System 
Volumes or Premium Sound and activate 
the Start-up Volume Limit option.
Turning off the system
If you do not want to use the 
system while driving, press and 
hold the Power button on the 
control panel.
 \225 The screen and the sound will turn off.
 \225To use the system again, press the 
Power button.
After you have turned off 
the engine, the system will 
automatically turn off after a 
while or as soon as you open the 
driver's door.
 \225Depending on the vehicle model or 
specifications, the system may turn off 
as soon as you turn off the engine.
Using the touch 
screen
Your system is equipped with a touch 
screen. You can perform various functions 
via touch inputs.
 \334 Warning
Do not use the touch screen while driving 
as this will divert your attention away 
from the safe operation of the vehicle. 
You may lose your steering control which 
could cause an accident and severe bodily 
injuries.

Using phone 
projection
Phone projection enables you to connect 
your Android smartphone or iPhone to 
your system and use their functions via 
the system. You can perform and control 
your smartphone apps by using the larger 
screen and enhance your use of the 
system.
Depending on your vehicle′s model or 
specifications, you may be able to use 
phone projection via USB or wirelessly.
 \334Warning
 \225Driving while distracted can result 
in a loss of vehicle control that may

 \225Only compatible apps will be displayed 
on the phone projection screen. You can

Using Android Auto 
or Apple CarPlay via a 
wireless connection

You can connect your Android 
smartphone or iPhone to the system 
wirelessly.
Android smartphones must support 
Android Auto Wireless, and iPhones must 
support wireless Apple CarPlay. Also, 
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi must be enabled on 
your Android smartphone or iPhone.

You can connect your Android 
smartphone and system via Android Auto 
and control your smartphone apps on the 
system′s screen.
Before starting Android Auto, activate 
a connection type to use for phone 
projection and set up the devices list for

safe location before changing the phone 
projection settings.

 \225When Apple CarPlay is active, you 
cannot change the Apple CarPlay 
settings. To change the settings, remove 
the USB cable from your system.

environments, update your iPhone′s

 #Pairing iPhones with your 
system for wireless Apple 
CarPlay
For wireless Apple CarPlay connections, 
first pair your iPhone with your system to 
add it to the phone projection devices list. 
You can register up to six iPhones.
Ensure that your iPhone supports wireless 
Apple CarPlay.
1 On the Home screen, press 
All Menus  > Setup  > Device 
Connections  >  Phone 
Projection .
 \225If you are pairing an iPhone with 
your system for the first time, you 
can also press and hold the Voice 
recognition button on the steering 
wheel.
2 Press  Add New .
 [Connecting your iPhone via 
Apple CarPlay
You can connect your iPhone and system 
via Apple CarPlay and control your iPhone 
apps on the system′s screen. Only wireless 
connections are available for Apple 
CarPlay.
Before starting Apple CarPlay, activate 
wireless connectivity and set up the 
devices list for wireless connections.

CarPlay settings.
 #Activating wireless connectivity
On the Home screen, press  All 
Menus  > Setup  > Wi-Fi and press 
Use Wi-Fi for Phone Projection to 
activate it.

Getting to know the 
driving assistance 
screen
You can view the outside of your vehicle 
on the system screen. Depending on the 
vehicle model or specifications, displayed 
screens and available functions may vary.
 \334Warning
When backing up, make sure to follow the 
guidelines below:
 \225Before entering your vehicle, always 
check the area behind your vehicle.
 \225Do not solely rely on the rear view 
camera when backing up. Always ensure 
that it is safe to back up by checking 
behind you and looking in the rearview 
mirrors.
 \225Always back up slowly and stop 
immediately if you suspect that a 
person, especially a child, might be 
behind you.
 \335 Caution
The distance shown in the rear view 
screen may differ from the actual 
distance. For safety, be sure to visually 
check the rear, left, and right sides of your 
vehicle.
6 To end Apple CarPlay, 
disconnect the iPhone from the 
phone projection devices list.
