3Reprogramming a single
HomeLink® buttonTo program a new device to a previously
trained HomeLink® button, follow these
steps:
1. Press and hold the desired
HomeLink® button. Do NOT release
until step 4 has been completed.
2. When the indicator light begins to flash slowly (after 20 seconds), position the
handheld transmitter 1 to 3 inches
(2 to 8 cm) away from the HomeLink®
surface.
3. Press and hold the handheld transmit- ter button. The HomeLink® indicator
light will flash, first slowly and then rap-
idly.
4. When the indicator light begins to flash rapidly, release both buttons.
5. Press and hold the just-trained HomeLink® button and observe the
red Status Indicator LED. If the indica-
tor light stays on constantly, program-
ming is complete and your new device
should activate.
Erasing HomeLink® buttonsIndividual buttons cannot be erased.
However, to erase all three programmed
buttons:
1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons until the indicator
light begins to flash-after 20 seconds.
2. Release both buttons. Do not hold for longer than 30 seconds.
The Integrated HomeLink® Wireless
Control System is now in the training
(learn) mode and can be programmed at
any time following the appropriate steps
in the Programming sections above.

Map light (if equipped)The lights are turned ON or OFF by

Dome light (if equipped)(1) OFF
: The light stays off even when a dooris open.
(2) DOOR : The light turns on when a door isopened or when a door is unlocked
by the transmitter (if equipped).
Interior light goes out slowly after 30
seconds if the door is closed.
However if the ignition switch is ON
or all vehicle doors are locked when
the door is closed, interior light will
turn off even within 30 seconds.
(3) ON
: The light turns on and stays on even when the doors are all closed.

valuables in the storage compartment.
• Always keep the storage compartment covers closed while driving. Do not
attempt to place many items in the
storage compartment that the storage
compartment cover can not close
securely.
Center console storageTo open either of the console storage
compartments, press button (1, if
equipped) or (2).
These compartments can be used to
store small items required by the driver
or front passenger.
Multi box (if equipped)To open the cover, push the button and
pull the cover down. It can be used for
storing small items.

Do not store cigarette lighters,
propane cylinders, or other flamma-
ble/explosive materials in the vehi-
cle. These items may catch fire
and/or explode if the vehicle is
exposed to hot temperatures for
extended periods.

Glove boxThe glove box can be locked and
unlocked with a master key (1, if
equipped).
It cannot be locked/unlocked with the sub
key (if equipped).
To open the glove box, make sure it is
unlocked, then pull the handle (2) and the
glove box will automatically open (3).
Close the glove box after use.
Sunglass holder (if equipped)A sunglass storage compartment is pro-
vided on the overhead console. To open
the sunglass holder, press the cover and
the holder will slowly open. Place your
sunglasses in the compartment door with
the lenses facing out. Push to close.
CAUTION
Do not use the sunglass holderwhile driving. This could result inloss of control, and an accident causing serious injury or propertydamage.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of injury in caseof an accident or sudden stop, always keep the glove box doorclosed while driving.

3Cigarette lighterTo use the cigarette lighter, press the
front face then release it to allow the cig-
arette lighter and ashtray to slowly
extend from center panel.
To operate the cigarette lighter, press it in
and release it. When it is heated, it auto-
matically pops out ready for use.
If the engine is not running, the ignition
switch must be in the ACC position for
the lighter to operate.
✽ ✽
NOTICE• Do not hold the lighter in after it is
already heated because it will over-
heat.
• Only a genuine Kia lighter should be used in the cigarette lighter socket.
The use of plug-in accessories
(shavers, hand-held vacuums, and
coffee pots, for example) may damage
the socket or cause electrical failure.
• If the lighter does not pop out within 30 seconds, remove it to prevent over-
heating.
Ashtrays To use the ashtray, press the front face
and release it to allow the cigarette
lighter and ashtray to slowly extend from
center panel.
To remove the ashtray, grasp the ashtray
bucket and carefully pull it out.

 Do not use the vehicle’s ashtrays
as waste receptacles.
 Putting lit cigarettes or matches in an ashtray with other combustible
materials may cause a fire.

Cup holderCups or small beverage cans may be
placed in the cup holders.
Front The cup holder can be used by lifting its
cover.
Rear (if equipped)To use cup holders in rear seat, pull
down the rear seat armrest.
WARNING
- Hot liquids
 Do not place uncovered cups ofhot liquid in the cup holder while
the vehicle is in motion. If the hot
liquid spills, you could be burned.
Such a burn to the driver could
cause a loss of control of the
vehicle.
 To reduce the risk of personal injury in the event of sudden stop
or collision, do not place uncov-
ered or insecure bottles, glasses,
cans, etc., in the cup holder while
the vehicle is in motion.

3SunvisorUse the sunvisor to shield direct light
through the front or side windows.
To use a sunvisor, pull it downward.
To use a sunvisor for a side window
shade, pull it downward, unsnap it from
the bracket (1) and swing it to the side.
To use the vanity mirror, pull down the
visor and pull up the mirror cover (
2, if
equipped).
Pull the extension panel (3) of the sunvi-
sor to lengthen the sunvisor.
✽ ✽ NOTICE• Close the vanity mirror cover securely
and return the sunvisor to its original
position after use.
• If the vanity mirror lamp is equipped and mirror cover is not closed secure-
ly, the lamp will stay on and could
result in battery discharge.
Power socket (if equipped)The power outlets are designed to pro-
vide power for mobile telephones or
other devices designed to operate with
vehicle electrical systems. The devices
should draw less than 10 amps with the
engine running.

✽NOTICE• Use the power outlet when the engine
is running, and remove a plug from
the power outlet after using the elec-
tric appliance. Using the power outlet
excessively or while the engine is not
running or leaving appliances plugged
into the power outlet when not in use
will cause battery discharge
• Only use the electric appliances which are less than 12V and 10A in electric
capacity.
• Adjust the air-conditioner or heater to the lowest operation level when you
have to use the power socket while
using air-conditioner or heater.
• Close the cover when not in use.
• Some electronic devices can cause electronic interference when plugged
into a vehicle’s power outlet. These
devices may cause excessive audio
static and malfunctions in other elec-
tronic systems or devices used in your
vehicle.
Digital clock (if equipped)Whenever the battery terminals or mem-
ory fuse are disconnected, you must
reset the time.
When the ignition switch is in the ACC or
ON position, the clock buttons operates
as follows:  HOUR:
Pressing the “H”button with your fin-
ger, a pencil or similar object will
advance the time displayed by one
hour.
 MINUTE: Pressing the “M”button with your fin-
ger, a pencil or similar object will
advance the time displayed by one
minute.
 RESET:
To clear away minutes, press the “R”
button with your finger, a pencil or sim-
ilar object. Then the clock will be set
precisely on the hour.
For example, if the “R ” button is
pressed while the time is between 9:01
and 9:29, the display will be reset to
9:00.
9:01 ~ 9:29 ➾ 9:00
9:30 ~ 9:59 ➾ 10:00
To change the 12 hour format to the 24
hour format, press the “R”button for
more than 5 seconds.
For example, if the “R”button is pressed
for more than 5 seconds while the time is
10:15 p.m., the display will be changed to
22:15.

3If your vehicle is equipped with this fea-
ture, you can slide or tilt your sunroof
with the sunroof control buttons located
on the overhead console.
The sunroof can only be opened, closed,
or tilted when the ignition switch is in the
“ON” position.✽ ✽
NOTICE• Do not continue to press the sunroof
control button(s) after the sunroof is
in the fully open, closed, or tilt posi-
tion(s). Damage to the motor or sys-
tem components could occur.
• The sunroof cannot slide when it is in the tilt position nor can it be tilted
while in an open or slide position.
Sliding the sunroof Autoslide open
To use the autoslide feature, momentar-
ily (more than 0.5 second) press the
SLIDE OPEN ( ) button on the over-
head console. The sunroof will slide all
the way open. To stop the sunroof sliding
at any point, press any sunroof control
button.
Manual slide open
Press the SLIDE OPEN ( ) button on
the overhead console for less than 0.5
second.
Close
To close the sunroof, press the CLOSE
( ) button on the overhead console
and hold it until the sunroof is closed.
Tilting the sunroof Autotilt open
To use the autotilt feature, momentarily
(more than 0.5 second) press the TILT
UP ( ) button on the overhead con-
sole. The sunroof will tilt all the way open.
To stop the sunroof tilting at any point,
press any sunroof control button.
Manual tilt open
Press the TILT UP ( ) button on the
overhead console for less than 0.5 sec-
ond.
Close
To close the sunroof, press the CLOSE
( ) button on the overhead console
and hold it until the sunroof is closed.

Sunshade The sunshade will be opened with the
glass panel automatically when the glass
panel is slid. You will have to close it man-
ually if you want it closed.
✽ ✽NOTICE• Do not press any sunroof control but-
ton longer than necessary. Damage to
the motor or system components
could occur.
• Periodically remove any dirt that may accumulate on the guide rail.
• If you try to open the sunroof when the temperature is below freezing or
when the sunroof is covered with snow
or ice, the glass or the motor could be
damaged.
• The sunroof is made to slide together with sunshade. Do not leave the sun-
shade closed while the sunroof is open.
In case of an emergency If the sunroof does not open electrically:
1. Open the sunglass holder.
2. Remove the two (2) screws, and then
remove the overhead console.
WARNING
 Do not extend face or arms out-side through the sunroof opening
while driving.
 Make sure hand and face are safely out of the way before clos-
ing a sunroof.
