•In order to avoid unnecessary andperhaps severe air bag injuries, al‐ways sit as far back as possiblefrom the steering wheel whilemaintaining comfortable control ofthe vehicle. We recommend thatyour chest be at least 25 cm(10 inches) away from the steer‐ing wheel.
WARNING
nRear seatbacks
•The rear seatback must be secure‐ly latched. If not, passengers andobjects could be thrown forwardresulting in serious injury or deathin the event of a sudden stop orcollision.

•Luggage and other cargo should belaid flat in the cargo area. If ob‐jects are large, heavy, or must bepiled, they must be secured.Under no circumstances shouldcargo be piled higher than theseatbacks. Failure to follow thesewarnings could result in serious in‐jury or death in the event of a sud‐den stop, collision or rollover.
•No passenger should ride in thecargo area or sit or lie on foldedseatbacks while the vehicle ismoving. All passengers must beproperly seated in seats and re‐strained properly while riding.
•When resetting the seatback tothe upright position, make sure itis securely latched by pushing itforward and backwards.
•To avoid the possibility of burns,do not remove the carpet in thecargo area.Emission control devices beneaththis floor generate high tempera‐tures.
WARNING
After adjusting the seat, alwayscheck that it is securely locked intoplace by attempting to move theseat forward or backward withoutusing the lock release lever. Suddenor unexpected movement of thedriver's seat could cause you to losecontrol of the vehicle resulting in anaccident.
WARNING
•Do not adjust the seat while wear‐ing seat belts. Moving the seatcushion forward may cause strongpressure on the abdomen.
•Use extreme caution so that handsor other objects are not caught inthe seat mechanisms while theseat is moving.
•Do not put a cigarette lighter onthe floor or seat. When you oper‐ate the seat, gas may gush out ofthe lighter and cause fire.

Lumbar support (if equipped)
The lumbar support can be adjusted by
pressing the lumbar support switch on the side of the Driver's seat. 1. Press the front portion of the switch to increase support, or the
rear portion of the switch, to de‐
crease support.
2. Release the switch once it reaches the desired position.
Front seat adjustment - power
(if equipped)
The front seat can be adjusted by usingthe control switches located on the
outside of the seat cushion. Before
driving, adjust the seat to the proper position so you can easily control the
steering wheel, pedals and switches on
the instrument panel.
WARNING
The power seat is operable with theengine start/stop button in OFF.Therefore, children should never beleft unattended in the vehicle.
CAUTION
•The power seat is driven by anelectric motor. Stop operating oncethe adjustment is completed. Ex‐cessive operation may damage theelectrical equipment.

•When in operation, the power seatconsumes a large amount of elec‐trical power. To prevent unneces‐sary charging system drain, don’tadjust the power seat longer thannecessary while the engine is notrunning.
•Do not operate two or more powerseat control switches at the sametime. Doing so may result in powerseat motor or electrical compo‐nent malfunction.
