Temperature - A, B & C
The temperature grades are A (the
highest), B, and C, representing the
tyre’s resistance to the generation ofheat and its ability to dissipate heatwhen tested under controlled condi-
tions on a specified indoor laboratorytest wheel.
Sustained high temperature can
cause the material of the tyre to
degenerate and reduce tyre life, and
excessive temperature can lead to
sudden tyre failure. Grades B and A
represent higher levels of perform-
ance on the laboratory test wheel
than the minimum required by law.Low aspect ratio tyre (if equipped)
low aspect ratio tyres, whose aspect
ratio is lower than 50, are provided
for sporty looks.
Because the low aspect ratio tyres
are optimized for handling and brak-
ing, it may be more uncomfortable to
ride in and there is more noise com-
pare with normal tyres.
WARNING
- Tyre
temperature
The temperature grade for this
tyre is established for a tyre that
is properly inflated and not over-
loaded. Excessive speed, under-
inflation, or excessive loading,
either separately or in combina-
tion, can cause heat build-up and
possible sudden tyre failure. This
can cause loss of vehicle control
and serious injury or death.
CAUTION
Because the sidewall of the low aspect ratio tyre is shorter thanthe normal, the wheel and tyreof the low aspect ratio tyre iseasier to be damaged. So, followthe instructions below.
- When driving on a rough road or off road, drive cautiouslybecause tyres and wheels maybe damaged. And after driving,inspect tyres and wheels.
- When passing over a pothole, speed bump, manhole, or curbstone, drive slowly so that thetyres and wheels are not dam-aged.

CAUTION
It is not easy to recognize thetyre damage with your owneyes. But if there is the slight- est hint of tyre damage, eventhough you cannot see thetyre damage with your own eyes, have the tyre checked orreplaced because the tyredamage may cause air leakage from the tyre.
If the tyre is damaged by driv- ing on a rough road, off road,pothole, manhole, or curbstone, it will not be covered by the warranty.
You can find out the tyre infor- mation on the tyre sidewall.

- If the tyre is impacted, we rec- ommend that you inspect thetyre condition or contact anauthorised Kia dealer.
- To prevent damage to the tyre, inspect the tyre condition andpressure every 3,000km.

FUSES
A vehicle’s electrical system is protected
from electrical overload damage by
fuses.
This vehicle has 2 fuse panels, one locat-
ed in the driver’s side panel bolster,
another is in the engine compartment.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, acces-
sories, or controls do not work, check the
appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has
blown, the element inside the fuse will bemelted.
If the electrical system does not work,
first check the driver’s side fuse panel.
Always replace a blown fuse with one of
the same rating.
Before replacing a blown fuse, discon-
nect the negative battery cable.
If the replacement fuse blows, this indi-
cates an electrical problem. Avoid using
the system involved and immediately
consult an authorised Kia dealer.
Four kinds of fuses are used: blade typefor lower amperage rating, cartridge type, and fusible link for higher amperage rat-ings.

The actual fuse/relay panel label may
differ from equipped items
WARNING - Fuse replace-
ment
Never replace a fuse with any- thing but another fuse of the same rating.
A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a fire.
Never install a wire instead of the proper fuse - even as a temporary
repair. It may cause extensive
wiring damage and a possible fire.
Do not arbitrarily modify or add-on electric wiring of the vehicle.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or any
other metal object to remove fusesbecause it may cause a short circuitand damage the system.

Instrument panel fuse replace- ment
1. Turn the ignition switch and all otherswitches off.
2. Open the fuse panel cover.
3. Pull the suspected fuse straight out.Use the removal tool provided in the
engine compartment fuse panel.
4. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown.
5. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorised Kia
dealer.

When replacing a blown fuse or
relay with a new one, make sure
the new fuse or relay fits tightlyinto the clips The incomplete fas-tening fuse or relay may cause the vehicle wiring and electric sys-
tems damage and a possible fire.
Do not remove fuses, relays and terminals fastened with bolts ornuts. The fuses, relays and termi-
nals may be fastened incomplete-ly, and it may cause a possible fire.If fuses, relays and terminals fas-tened with bolts or nuts are blown,
we recommend that you consult with an authorized Kia dealer.
Do not input any other objects except fuses or relays intofuse/relay terminals such as a driv-
er or wiring. It may cause contactfailure and system malfunction.
Do not plug in screwdrivers or aftermarket wiring into the termi-nal originally designed for fuse
and relays only. The electrical sys-tem and wiring of the vehicle inte-rior may be damaged or burned
due to contact failure.

If you do not have a spare, use a fuse of
the same rating from a circuit you maynot need for operating the vehicle, suchas the cigarette lighter fuse.
If the headlights or other electrical com-
ponents do not work and the fuses are
OK, check the fuse panel in the engine
compartment. If a fuse is blown, it mustbe replaced.
Memory fuse
Your vehicle is equipped with a memory
fuse to prevent battery discharge if your
vehicle is parked without being operated
for prolonged periods. Use the following
procedures before parking the vehicle for
prolonged periods.
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
3. Open the driver’s side panel cover and pull up the memory fuse.
✽✽ NOTICE
 If the memory fuse is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warning chime,
audio, clock and interior lamps, etc.,
will not operate. Some items must be
reset after replacement. Refer to
“Battery” in this section.
 Even when the memory fuse is pulled
up, the battery can still be discharged
by operation of the headlights or other
electrical devices.

Engine compartment fuse replacement
1. Turn the ignition switch and all otherswitches off. 2. Remove the fuse panel cover by
pressing the tab and pulling the cover
up. When the blade type fuse is dis-
connected, remove it by using the clip
designed for changing fuses located in
the engine room fuse box. Upon
removal, securely insert reserve fuse
of equal quantity.
3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse,use the fuse puller in the engine com-
partment fuse panel.
4. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorised
Kia dealer.
Multi fuse
If the multi fuse is blown, consult an
authorised Kia dealer.

LIGHT BULBS
Use only the bulbs of the specifiedwattage.
✽✽ NOTICE
After, driving in heavy rain or washing
the vehicle, headlight and taillight lenses
could appear frosty. This condition is
caused by the temperature difference
between the lamp inside and outside.
This is similar to the condensation on
your windows inside your vehicle during
the rain and doesn’t indicate a problem
with your vehicle. If the water leaks into
the lamp bulb circuitry, have the vehicle
checked by an authorised Kia dealer.

WARNING - Working on
the lights
Prior to working on the light, firmly
apply the parking brake, ensure
that the ignition switch is turned tothe LOCK position and turn off the
lights to avoid sudden movement
of the vehicle and burning your fin-
gers or receiving an electric shock.
CAUTION
Be sure to replace the burned-out bulb with one of the same wattagerating. Otherwise, it may causedamage to the fuse or electricwiring system.
CAUTION
If you don’t have necessary tools,the correct bulbs and the expertise,
consult an authorised Kia dealer. Inmany cases, it is difficult to replacevehicle light bulbs because other parts of the vehicle must be
removed before you can get to thebulb. This is especially true if youhave to remove the headlight
assembly to get to the bulb(s).Removing/installing the headlightassembly can result in damage tothe vehicle.

WARNING - Halogen bulbs
Halogen bulbs contain pressur-
ized gas that will produce flying
pieces of glass if broken.
Always handle them carefully, and avoid scratches and abra-
sions. If the bulbs are lit, avoid
contact with liquids. Never touchthe glass with bare hands.
Residual oil may cause the bulb
to overheat and burst when lit. A
bulb should be operated onlywhen installed in a headlight.

If a bulb becomes damaged orcracked, replace it immediately
and carefully dispose of it.
Wear eye protection when chang- ing a bulb. Allow the bulb to cool
down before handling it.
