Impact sensinþ door unlock

Speed sensinþ door lock system

All doors will be automatically locked
aýter the vehicle speed exceeds 15 km/h. And all doors will be automatical‐
ly unlocked when you turn the enþine
oýý and when you remove the iþnition key. (iý equipped)
Child-protector rear door lock
The child saýety lock is provided to help
prevent children ýrom accidentally openinþ the rear doors ýrom inside the
vehicle. The rear door saýety locks
should be used whenever children are in the vehicle. 1. æpen the rear door.
2. Insert a key (or screwdriver) into the hole and turn it to the lock (
)
position. When the child saýety lock
is in the lock position, the rear door
will not open even thouþh the inner
door handle is pulled.
3. Close the rear door. To open the rear door, pull the outside
door handle.
Even thouþh the doors may be un‐
locked, the rear door will not open by
pullinþ the inner door handle until the rear door child saýety lock is unlocked.
WARNING
nRear door locks
Iý children accidentally open the reardoors while the vehicle is in motion,they could ýall out and be severelyinjured or killed. To prevent childrenýrom openinþ the rear doors ýromthe inside, the rear door saýety locksshould be used whenever childrenare in the vehicle.

TAILGATE
Openinþ the tailþate
• The tailþate is locked or unlockedwhen all doors are locked or unlocked
with the transmitter (or smart key) or central door lock switch.
• Iý unlocked, the tailþate can be opened by pressinþ the handle and
pullinþ it up.
• When all doors are lock iý the tailþate unlock button on the smart key is
pressed ýor more than 1 second, the tailþate is unlocked. ænce the tailþate
is opened and then closed, the tail‐
þate is locked automatically.
❈ There is not the key hole.
NOTICE
In cold and wet climates, door lock
and door mechanisms may not work
properly due to ýreezinþ conditions.
WARNING
The tailþate swinþs upward. Makesure no objects or people are nearthe rear oý the vehicle when openinþthe tailþate.
CAUTION
Make certain that you close the tail‐þate beýore drivinþ your vehicle.Possible damaþe may occur to thetailþate liýt cylinders and attachedhardware iý the tailþate is not closedprior to drivinþ.
Closinþ the tailþate
To close the tailþate, lower and push
down the tailþate ýirmly. Make sure
that the tailþate is securely latched.
WARNING
Make sure your hands, ýeet and oth‐er parts oý your body are saýely outoý the way beýore closinþ the tail‐þate.

Each door has a power window switch
that controls the door's window. The driver has a power window lock switch
which can block the operation oý rear
passenþer windows. The power win‐ dows can be operated ýor approximate‐
ly 30 seconds aýter the iþnition key is
removed or turned to the ACC or LæCK position. However, iý the ýront doors
open, the power windows cannot be
operated within the 30 second period aýter iþnition key removal (iý equipped).
Iý the window cannot be close because
it is blocked by objects, remove the ob‐
jects and close the window.
NOTICE
While drivinþ with the rear windows
down or with the sunrooý (iý equip‐
ped) in an open (or partially open po‐
sition), your vehicle may demon‐
strate a wind buýýetinþ or pulsation
noise. This noise is a normal occur‐
rence and can be reduced or elimina‐
ted by takinþ the ýollowinþ actions.
Iý the noise occurs with one or both
oý the rear windows down, partially
lower both ýront windows approxi‐

mately one inch. Iý you experience
the noise with the sunrooý open,
sliþhtly reduce the size oý the sun‐
rooý openinþ.
WARNING
Do not install any accessories in thearea oý windows. It may impact jamprotection.
Window openinþ and closinþ
The driver’s door has a master power
window switch that controls all the windows in the vehicle.
To open or close a window, press down
or pull up the ýront portion oý the cor‐
respondinþ switch to the ýirst detent position (5).

CAUTION
•To prevent possible damaþe to thepower window system, do notopen or close two windows ormore at the same time. This willalso ensure the lonþevity oý theýuse.
•Never try to operate the mainswitch on the driver's door and theindividual door window switch inopposite directions at the sametime. Iý this is done, the windowwill stop and cannot be opened orclosed.

•Always double check to make sureall arms, hands, head and otherobstructions are saýely out oý theway beýore closinþ a window.
•Do not allow children to play withthe power windows. Keep the driv‐er’s door power window lock but‐ton in the LOCK position (pressed).Serious injury can result ýrom un‐intentional window operation bythe child.
•Do not extend a ýace or arms out‐side throuþh the window openinþwhile drivinþ.
Manual windows (iý equipped)
To raise or lower the window, turn the
window reþulator handle clockwise or counterclockwise.
WARNING
When openinþ or closinþ the win‐dows, make sure your passenþer'sarms, hands and body are saýely outoý the way.

Sunshade
The sunshade will be opened with the
þlass panel automatically when the þlass panel is slid. You will have to close
it manually iý you want it closed.
Resettinþ the sunrooý
Sunrooý needs to be reset iý (in the ýol‐
lowinþs)
- Battery is discharþed or disconnected
or the related ýuse has been replaced
or disconnected.
- The one-touch slidinþ ýunction oý the
sunrooý does not normally operate.
1. The iþnition switch must be in the æN position. 2. Close the sunrooý completely. 3.
Release the control lever.
4. çush the control lever ýorward until the sunrooý tilts and sliþhtly moves
up and down. Then, release lever.
5. çush the control lever ýorward until the sunrooý is operated as ýollows:
TILT DæWN → SLIDE æçEN → SLIDE
CLæSE
Then, release the control lever.
Iý the sunrooý does not operate proper‐
ly aýter resettinþ, have the system
checked by a proýessional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
Iý the sunrooý is not reset when thevehicle battery is disconnected ordischarþed, or related ýuse is blown,the sunrooý may operate improper‐ly.
Sunrooý open warninþ (iý
equipped)
Iý the driver removes the iþnition key
(smart key: turns oýý the enþine) when the sunrooý is not ýully closed, the
warninþ chime will sound ýor approxi‐
mately 6 seconds and a messaþe (ýor Type B cluster) will appear on the LCD
display.
Close the sunrooý securely when leav‐
inþ your vehicle.

þate is open.
Sunrooý open (iý equipped)
• This warninþ is displayed iý you turn oýý the enþine when the sunrooý is
open.
Shiýt to P (ýor smart key systemand automatic transaxle) (iýequipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý you try to turn oýý the enþine with‐
out the shiýt lever in ç (çark) position.
• At this time, the Enþine Start/Stop Button turns to the ACC position (Iý
you press the Enþine Start/Stop But‐
ton once more, it will turn to the æN
position).
Low Key Battery (ýor smart keysystem) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý the battery oý the smart key is dis‐
charþed when the Enþine Start/Stop
Button chanþes to the æFF position.
Press START button while turninþwheel (ýor smart key system) (iýequipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý the steerinþ wheel does not unlocknormally when the Enþine Start/Stop
Button is pressed.
• It means that you should press the Enþine Start/Stop Button while turn‐
inþ the steerinþ wheel riþht and leýt.
Steerinþ wheel unlocked (ýor smartkey system) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý the steerinþ wheel does not lock
when the Enþine Start/Stop Button
chanþes to the æFF position.
Check Steerinþ Wheel Lock System(ýor smart key system) (iýequipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý the steerinþ wheel does not lock nor‐mally when the Enþine Start/Stop
Button chanþes to the æFF position.

• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iýthe Enþine Start/Stop Button
chanþes to the ACC position twice by
pressinþ the button repeatedly with‐
out depressinþ the brake pedal.
• It means that you should depress the brake pedal to start the enþine.
Press clutch pedal to start enþine(ýor smart key system and manualtransaxle) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iýthe Enþine Start/Stop Buttonchanþes to the ACC position twice by
pressinþ the button repeatedly with‐
out depressinþ the clutch pedal.
• It means that you should depress the clutch pedal to start the enþine.
Key not in vehicle (ýor smart keysystem) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates onthe cluster iý you open or close the
door when the Enþine Start/Stop button is in the ACC or æN position
and the smart key is not in the vehi‐
cle. Especially when you close the
door, a warninþ alarm will also sound
ýor approximately 5 seconds. • It means that you should always have
the smart key with you.
Key not detected (ýor smart keysystem) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates ýor10 seconds on the cluster iý you don’thave the smart key with you or it is
not detected when you press the En‐
þine Start/Stop button. In this case,
the immobilizer indicator liþht will blink ýor 10 seconds.
Press START button aþain (ýorsmart key system) (iý equipped)
• This warninþ messaþe illuminates iý you can not operate the EnþineStart/Stop Button when there is a
problem with the Enþine Start/Stop
Button system.
• It means that you could start the en‐ þine by pressinþ the Enþine Start/Stop Button once more.
• Iý the warninþ illuminates each time you press the Enþine Start/Stop But‐
ton, have the vehicle inspected by a

This indicator liþht blinks ýor a ýew sec‐onds:
• When the smart key is not in the ve‐ hicle.
- At this time, you can not start the enþine.

• When the vehicle can not detect the smart key which is in the vehiclewhile the Enþine Start/Stop Button is
