Hood Release Lever and Latch
(Lever located near floor below Driver ’s Panel) (Latch located inside hood)
Closing the Hood:
Lower the Hood about halfway and then press down to securely lock in place
Opening the Hood:
1 Pull the Hood Release Lever A to unlatch the Hood
2 In the front of the vehicle, lift the Hood slightly, push the secondary Latch B to the left inside of the Hood’s center and lift the Hood
3 It will open by itself after it has been raised about half way
REMINDER: Open the Hood only after turning the engine off, on a flat sur face, with the gear shift in P (Park) position and set ting the parking brake

Fuel Cap / Malfunction Indicator
(Check Engine Light)
Ensure the Fuel Cap is securely tightened (one-click on the Plug-In Hybrid) to prevent the Check Engine light / Malfunction Indicator from illuminating
To open the Fuel Filler lid:
1. Hybrid - Press the right center edge of the Fuel Filler lid C
Plug-In Hybrid - Press the Fuel Filler Lid Release button D, located on Driver ’s Panel, left of Steering Wheel
2 Pull the Fuel Filler lid out to fully open and place the Fuel Cap in the holder E
3 To open the Fuel Cap, turn it counterclockwise F

Hybrid: The Fuel Filler Lid lock will unlock/open only when the unlock but ton on the Smar t Key is pressed, central door unlock but ton is pressed or the driver ’s side door is unlocked
•
To lock the Fuel Filler Lid, press the lock but ton on the Smar t Key or lock central door lock but ton
•
All doors and Fuel Filler Lid will automatically lock after the vehicle speed exceeds 9 mph

ODS is designed to detect the presence and position of the front passenger and adjusts or turns off airbag deployment accordingly
Depending on the situation and type of accident, the system may:
•Deploy airbag (Adult)
•Not deploy the airbag (Unoccupied)
If the system determines that the
airbag should not be deployed, the “PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF” light will illuminate

Child-Protector Rear Door Locks*
Located on the rear edge of the rear passenger doors Use the mechanical ignition key to the Child-Protector Rear Door Lock to the lock position to disable the inner door handles from opening the rear doors
REMINDER: Child-Protector Rear Door Locks are located on the rear passenger ’s door jamb
(Lock located on rear passenger inside door jamb)
(ODS light is located on map/room lamp ceiling console)

Seat Belt Retractor Locks
Retractor locks allow lap/shoulder safety belts to remain unlocked during normal vehicle operation for freedom of movement and increased comfort
During a STRONG STOP, SUDDEN TURN OR
CERTAIN COLLISIONS, seatbelt retractors will automatically lock the belts to reduce the risk of injury
REMINDER: For maximum protection, always wear your seat belt

To properly fasten your seat belts:

Insert the belt tongue plate A into the buckle B until it clicks
2
Position the lap portion of the belt across your lap as LOW ON THE HIPS as possible C Adjust the belt to a SNUG FIT by pulling up on the shoulder portion D
