72To turn on the interior light, slide the switch.
With the switch in the ºDOORº position, the light comes
on when any of the doors are opened. After all the doors
are closed, the light remains on for about 15 seconds
and then goes out.
However, in the following cases, the light goes out
immediately:
1. All the doors are closed when the ignition key is in
ºACCº or ºONº position.
2. The ignition key is turned to ºACCº or ºONº when the
light is still on.
3. All the doors are locked when the light is still on.
4. One door is closed with the lock button pushed in
while the other doors are locked.

To turn on the personal light, push the switch. To
turn it off, push the switch again.

For easy access to the ignition switch, the ignition
switch light comes on when any of the doors are
opened.
The light remains on for about 15 seconds and goes out
after all the doors are closed. However, the light goes
out immediately when all the doors are locked or the
ignition key is in the ºACCº or ºONº position.

To open the glovebox door, pull the lever. To lock the
glovebox door, insert the master key and turn it
clockwise.
With the tail lights on, the glovebox light will come on
when the glovebox door is open.
The trunk lid opener main switch is installed inside the
glovebox. See page 100 for further information.
For the CD automatic changer, see page 232.
CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in case of an accident or
a sudden stop, always keep the glovebox door closed
while driving.

Trunk lid opener

To open the trunk lid while sitting in the driver's seat,
push the switch with the main switch on.

If you do not want to activate the trunk lid opener
system, turn off the main switch in the glovebox. To
turn it on, push in the main switch.
To protect things put in the trunk, when you have your
vehicle parked, turn off the trunk lid opener system and
lock the glovebox.

1. To open the fuel filler door, push the switch.
When refueling, turn off the engine.

To slide open the moon roof, push the switch on the
ºSLIDE OPENº side briefly. The moon roof will fully
open. To stop partway, push the switch briefly.
The sun shade can be opened or closed manually.
However, if you open the moon roof, the sun shade will
be opened with the moon roof.
To close the moon roof, push the switch on the ºTILT
UPº side.
The moon roof will move while the switch is being
pushed and stop when released. However, as a
precaution, it stops partway before sliding fully closed,
except when already more than half closed. Therefore,
release the switch and then push it again to close it
completely. To slide open the tilted±up moon roof:
Push the switch on the ºSLIDE OPENº side to tilt down
the moon roof. After releasing the switch, push the
switch on the same side again.
