REPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE NO. 3 (BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL)
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (RH BANK) (See page 10-1 1)
3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER BRACE CENTER (W/O TEMS, RH BANK)
(See page 16-9)
4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSY (See page 16-9)
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSY (RH BANK) (See page 16-9)
6. REMOVE EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SET (RH BANK) (See page 11-13)
7. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK (RH BANK) (See page 11-13)
8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSY
(a) Disconnect the 6 connectors.
(b) Remove the 6 bolts, then remove the 6 ignition coils.
HINT:
The ignition coil is installed with the bolt.
9. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSY
Torque: 8.0 NVm (80 kgfVcm, 71 in.Vlbf)
10. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK (RH BANK) (See page 11-13)
11. INSTALL EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SET (RH BANK) (See page 11-13)
12. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSY (RH BANK) (See page 16-9)
13. CHECK CONNECTION OF VACUUM HOSE (RH BANK) (See page 14-29)
14. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE NO. 3 (BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL)
Torque: 5.4 NVm (55 kgfVcm, 48 in.Vlbf)
15. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (RH BANK) (See page 10-1 1)
16. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (RH BANK) (See page 16-1)

REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR RH
(a) Remove the 8 clips, then remove the radiator lower air de-
flector.
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSY
(a) Remove the wire harness clamp.
(b) Remove the 2 vacuum hoses from the hose clamp.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the air cleaner inlet.
3. REMOVE BATTERY
4. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY
(a) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
(b) Disconnect the 4 vacuum hoses.
(c) Loosen the 2 air cleaner cap bolts.
(d) Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp bolt, then remove the
air cleaner cap.
(e) Remove the air cleaner filter element.

REPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE NO. 3 (BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL)
2. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY
(a) Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.
(b) Disconnect the generator connector.
(c) Open the terminal cap.
(d) Remove the nut, then disconnect the generator wire.
(e) Loosen bolts A and B.
(f) Loosen bolt C to lessen the tension of the V-ribbed belt
No.1.
(g) Remove bolts A and B, then remove the generator.
(h) Remove the bolt, then remove the wiring harness clamp
bracket.

5. Read STATE OF CHARGE and
BATTERY CONDITION.
a. If battery is at 75% STATE OF
CHARGE or greater, release
vehicle to new owner.
b. If battery is less than 75%
STATE OF CHARGE proceed
to Battery Service Procedure.
Follow the procedures below according to the BATTERY CONDITION results.
BATTERY CONDITION: ªGood return to serviceº (less than 75% State of Charge)
Charge battery using one of the recommended chargers indicated above (or equivalent)
following the Quick Charge instructions accompanying that machine.
BATTERY CONDITION: ªCharge and return to serviceº
Charge battery using one of the recommended chargers indicated above (or equivalent)
following the Quick Charge instructions accompanying that machine.
BATTERY CONDITION: ªCharge and retestº
The battery must be Quick Charged and retested using the After charge test mode.
Carry out the service according to the result of the retest.
BATTERY CONDITION: ªReplaceº
The battery must be replaced. Press the STK#/CODE key to show the warranty code for
the repair order and for the Warranty Battery Label.
If a vehicle battery needs to be replaced
for a warrantable condition, make sure to
complete a Warranty Battery Label and
affix it to the failed battery for proper
warranty parts and claim processing.
Please include the Vehicle
Identification Number and warranty
