Please note that this manual applies to all models and explains all equipment, includ-
ing options. Therefore, you may find some explanations for equipment not installed
on your vehicle.
All specifications provided in this manual are current at the time of printing. How-
ever, because of the Lexus policy of continual product improvement, we reserve the
right to make changes at any time without notice.
Depending on specifications, the vehicle shown in the illustrations may differ from
your vehicle in terms of color and equipment.
Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear
sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel
evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction.
A wide variety of non-genuine spare parts and accessories for Lexus vehicles are
currently available in the market. You should know that Toyota does not warrant
these products and is not responsible for their performance, repair, or replacement,
or for any damage they may cause to, or adverse effect they may have on, your
Lexus vehicle.
This vehicle should not be modified with non-genuine Lexus products. Modification
with non-genuine Lexus products could affect its performance, safety or durability,
and may even violate governmental regula tions. In addition, damage or perfor-
mance problems resulting from the modification may not be covered under war-
ranty.

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with the
pedals while driving. An unexpectedly high speed may result or it may become diffi-
cult to stop the vehicle, lead ing to an accident, or leading to death or a serious injury.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles,
even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats.
●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
●Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) provided.
●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
●Do not place the floor mat bo ttom-side up or upside-down.
■Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in
the correct place with all the provided
retaining hooks (clips). Be especially care-
ful to perform this check after cleaning the
floor.
●With the engine stopped
and the shift lever in P, fully depress each
pedal to the floor to make sure it does not
interfere with the floor mat.

Exhaust gas precautions
Harmful substance to the human body is included in exhaust gases if
inhaled.
CAUTION
Exhaust gases include harmful carbon mono xide (CO), which is colorless and odor-
less. Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause exhaust gases enter the vehicle and may lead to an acci-
dent caused by light-headedness, or may lead to death or a serious health hazard.
■Important points while driving
●Keep the trunk lid closed.
●If you smell exhaust gases in the vehicle even when the trunk lid is closed, open
the windows and have the vehicle inspected at your Lexus dealer as soon as pos-
sible.
■When parking
●If the vehicle is in a poorly ventilated area or a closed area, such as a garage, stop
the engine .
●Do not leave the vehicle with the engine running for a
long time.
If such a situation cannot be avoided, park the vehicle in an open space and
ensure that exhaust fumes do not enter the vehicle interior.
●Do not leave the engine running in an area with snow
build-up, or where it is snowing. If sn owbanks build up around the vehicle while
the engine is running , exhaust gases may collect and
enter the vehicle.
■Exhaust pipe
The exhaust system needs to be checked periodically. If there is a hole or crack
caused by corrosion, damage to a joint or abnormal exhaust noise, be sure to have
the vehicle inspected and repaired by your Lexus dealer.

*1: These lights turn on when the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch isturned to IGNITION ON mode to indicate that a system check is being
performed. They will turn off after the engi ne is on, or after a few
seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if the lights do not turn on, or
turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: The light turns on when the system is turn ed off. The light flashes quickly to indi-
cate that the system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators illumi-
nate in the following situations:
• When the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch is turned to IGNI- TION ON mode while the BSM main switch is set to ON.
• When the BSM main switch is set to ON while the “START STOP ENGINE”
<“POWER”> switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators
will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicato rs do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction with the system. If this occurs, have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer.
CAUTION
■If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS warning light not come on
when you start the engine , this could mean that these systems are
not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or seri-
ous injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this
occurs.

■ECO lamp and SPORT lamp
●When sport mode is selected, SPORT lamp (red) will illuminate.
●When all of the following conditions are satisfied and Eco-friendly driving, ECO
lamp (blue) will illuminate. (ECO lamp will become brighter the more Eco-friendly
driving you perform. Also, while the vehicle is stopped or the acceleration exceeds
Zone of Eco driving, ECO lamp turns off. (P. 107) However, when Eco drive
mode is selected, while the vehicle is stopped or the acceleration exceeds Zone of
Eco driving, ECO lamp does not turn off.):
• Driving with the shift lever in D
• Either normal mode or Eco drive mode is selected.
• The vehicle speed is approximately 80 mph (130 km/h) or below.
■Tachometer (hybrid vehicles)
Hybrid System Indicator automatically sw itches to the tachometer when driving
mode is in sport mode.
■Engine speed (hybrid vehicles)
Engine speed is precisely controlled in or der to help improve fuel efficiency and
reduce exhaust emissions etc.
There are times when the engine speed that is displayed may differ even when vehi-
cle operation and driving conditions are the same.
■Odometer and trip meter display

Settings (e.g. on/off operatio n of ECO lamp) can be changed.

NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the engine and its components
●Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the red zone, which indi-
cates the maximum engine speed.
●The engine may be overheating if the engine coolant temperature gauge is in the
red zone (H). In this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, and check
the engine after it has cooled completely. ( P. 8 2 1 , 8 2 4 )

■System check display
After turning the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch to IGNITION ON
mode, “SYSTEM CHECK” is displayed while system operation is checked.
■Eco Driving Indicator (gasoline vehicles)
Zone of Eco driving
Eco driving ratio based on acceleration
If the acceleration exceeds Zone of Eco dr iving, the right side of Eco Driving Indi-
cator Zone Display blinks.
Eco Driving Indicator will not oper ate in the following conditions:
●The shift lever is anything other than D.
●Neither normal mode nor Eco drive mode is selected. ( P. 3 0 0 )
●The vehicle speed is approximatel y 80 mph (130 km/h) or higher.
■Outside temperature display
In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed, or
the display may take longer than normal to change.
●When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 km/h])
●When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a
garage, tunnel, etc.)
Suggests Zone of Eco driving and Eco driving
ratio based on acceleration.
Eco Driving Indicator Light
Eco Driving Indicator Light availability can
be customized. The default setting is off.

During Eco-friendly acceleration (Eco driv-
ing), Eco Driving Indicator Light will turn
on.
When the acceleration exceeds Zone of
Eco driving, or when the vehicle is stopped,
the light turns off.

CAUTION
■Trunk easy closer (vehicles with power trunk opener and closer)
■Power trunk opener and closer (if equipped)
Observe the following precautions when operating the power trunk opener and
closer.
Failure to do so may cause serious injury.
●Check the safety of the surrounding area to make sure there are no obstacles or
anything that could cause any of your belongings to get caught.
●If anyone is in the vicinity, make sure they are safe and let them know that the
trunk is about to open or close.
●If the trunk closer switch is pressed while the trunk lid is opening during automatic
operation, the trunk lid stops opening. Take extra care when on an incline, as the
trunk lid may open or close suddenly.
●On an incline, the trunk lid may fall afte r it opens automatically. Make sure the
trunk lid is fully open and secure before using the trunk.
●In the following situations, the power trunk opener and closer may detect an
abnormality and automatic operation may be stopped. In this case, the trunk lid
has to be operated manually. Take extra care in this situation, as the stopped trunk
lid may suddenly fall, causing an accident.
• When the trunk lid contacts an obstacle
• When the 12-volt battery voltage suddenly drops, such as when the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch is turned to IGNITION ON
mode or the engine is started during automatic operation
●Do not attach any accessories other than genuine Lexus parts to the trunk lid. The
power trunk opener and closer may not op erate, causing itself to malfunction, or
the trunk lid may fall closed again after it is opened.
In the event that the trunk lid is left slightly
open, the trunk easy closer will automatically
close it to the fully closed position. It takes
several seconds before the trunk easy closer
begins to operate. Be careful not to catch fin-
gers or anything else in the trunk lid, as this
may cause bone fractures or other serious
injuries.
