Warning lights and indicators
◆Instrument cluster
The units used on the speedometer and some indicators may differ depending on
the target region or grade/type.
◆Center panel
The warning lights and indicators on the instrument cluster and center
panel inform the driver of the status of the vehicle’s various systems.
For the purpose of explanation, th e following illustration displays all
warning lights and indicators illuminated.

performed. They will turn off after the engi ne is on, or after a few

*1: These lights turn on when the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch isturned to IGNITION ON mode to indicate that a system check is being
performed. They will turn off after the engi ne is on, or after a few
seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if the lights do not turn on, or
turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: The light turns on when the system is turn ed off. The light flashes quickly to indi-
cate that the system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators illumi-
nate in the following situations:
• When the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch is turned to IGNI- TION ON mode while the BSM main switch is set to ON.
• When the BSM main switch is set to ON while the “START STOP ENGINE”
<“POWER”> switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators
will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicato rs do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction with the system. If this occurs, have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer.
CAUTION
■If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS warning light not come on
when you start the engine , this could mean that these systems are
not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or seri-
ous injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this
occurs.

The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be adjusted.
Darker
Brighter
■The meters and display illuminate when
The “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch is in IGNITION ON
mode.
■Instrument panel brightness adjustment
The instrument panel brightness levels wh en the tail lights are on and off can be
adjusted individually. However, when the surroundings are bright (daytime, etc.),
turning on the tail lights will not change th e instrument panel brightness. At this time,
any adjustments made to the instrument panel brightness levels will be applied to
both settings at once.
■Limitation of brightness adjustment
The brightness of the instrument panel ligh ts is automatically adjusted based on the
light sensor detecting how bright the surroundings are. However, if the instrument
panel brightness has been manually set to ei ther the brightest or darkest setting, the
automatic adjustment will not be performed.

Operation of each component
Smart access system with push-button start
The following operations can be perf ormed simply by carrying the elec-
tronic key on your person, for exam ple in your pocket. (The driver should
always carry the electronic key.)
■Operation signals
A buzzer sounds and the emergency flashe rs flash to indicate that the doors have
been locked/unlocked. (Locked: once; Unlocked: twice)
■Security feature
If a door is not opened within approx imately 60 seconds after the vehicle is
unlocked, the security feature automatically locks the vehicle again.
■Welcome light illumination control
The side marker, parking, tail and license plate lights automatically turn on at night
when the doors are unlocked using the entr y function or wireless remote control if
the light switch is in the “AUTO” position.

If an attempt to lock the doors is made when a door is not fully closed, a buzzer
sounds continuously for 5 se conds. Fully close the door to stop the buzzer, and lock
the vehicle once more.

When is pressed for longer than about
one second, an alarm will sound intermittently
and the vehicle lights will flash to deter any
person from trying to break into or damage
your vehicle.
To stop the alarm, press any button on the
electronic key.
