Open (press the button)
Unlock with the mechanical key
Lock with the mechanical key
●The glove box light turns on
when the tail lights are on.
●The trunk opener main switch is located in the glove box. (→P. 1 1 5 )
●The partition inside the glove box can be removed. ( →P. 4 7 9 )
Push the knob to release the lock, and
lift the armrest to open fully.
●The console box light turns on when the tail lights are on.

●The tray slides forward/backward and can be
removed.
WA R N I N G
When using the console box with half-open, do not apply too much load on the arm-
rest. Doing so may damage the armrest and may cause you to injure yourself.

Other interior features
To set the visor in the forward posi-
tion, flip it down.
To set the visor in the side position,
flip down, unhook, and swing it to the
side.
To use the side extender, place the
visor in the side position, then slide it
backward.
Slide the cover to open.
The light turns on when the cover is
opened.

Vanity mirrors
NOTICE
To prevent 12-volt battery discharge, do not leave the vanity lights on for extended peri-
ods while the hybrid system is not operating.

NOTICE
■To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and components (aluminum
wheels etc.)
●Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast
• After driving on salted roads
• If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the paint surface
• After driving in an area contaminated wi
th soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron pow-
der or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud
• If liquids such as benzene and gasoline are spilled on the paint surface
●If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately.
●To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place with low
humidity when storing the wheels.
■Cleaning the exterior lights
●Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
●Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■When using an automatic car wash (vehicles with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
Set the wiper switch to the off position.
If the wiper switch is in “AUTO”, the wipers may operate and the wiper blades may be
damaged.
■When cleaning the windshield
Raise the wipers in line with the windshield. ( →P. 2 8 6 )
Failure to do so may result in damage to the wipers and/or the hood.
■When using a high pressure car wash
Do not bring the nozzle tip close to boots (rubber or resin manufactured cover), con-
nectors or the following parts. The parts may be damaged if they come into contact
with high-pressure water.

Accelerator pedal• The accelerator pedal should move smoothly (with-
out uneven pedal effort or catching).
Hybrid transmission “Park”
mechanism• When parked on a slope and the shift lever is in P, is
the vehicle securely stopped?
Brake pedal
• Does the brake pedal move smoothly?
• Does the brake pedal have appropriate clearance
from the floor? ( →P. 5 4 6 )
• Does the brake pedal have the correct amount of free play? (→ P. 5 4 6 )
Brakes
• The vehicle should not pull to one side when the
brakes are applied.
• The brakes should work effectively.
• The brake pedal should not feel spongy.
• The brake pedal should not get too close to the floor when the brakes are applied.
Head restraints• Do the head restraints move smoothly and locksecurely?
Indicators/buzzers• Do the indicators and buzzers function properly?
Lights• Do all the lights come on?
• Are the headlights aimed correctly?
Parking brake• Does the parking brake pedal move smoothly?
• When parked on a slope and the parking brake is on,is the vehicle securely stopped?
Seat belts• Do the seat belts operate smoothly?
• The seat belts should not be damaged.
Seats• Do the seat controls operate properly?
Steering wheel
• Does the steering wheel rotate smoothly?
• Does the steering wheel have the correct amount offree play?
• There should not be any strange sounds coming from the steering wheel.

Maintenance and care
■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been replaced, a bulb may need
replacement. (→P. 4 8 6 )
●If the replaced fuse blows again, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
■If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protec ting the wiring harness from damage.
■When replacing light bulbs
Lexus recommends that you use genuine Lexus products designed for this vehicle.
Because certain bulbs are connected to circuits designed to prevent overload, non-gen-
uine parts or parts not designed for this vehicle may be unusable.
WA R N I N G
■To prevent system breakdowns and vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle, and possibly a fire or injury.
●Never use a fuse of a higher amperage rating than that indicated, or use any other
object in place of a fuse.
●Always use a genuine Lexus fuse or equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wire, even as a temporary fix.
●Do not modify the fuses or fuse boxes.
NOTICE
■Before replacing fuses
Have the cause of electrical overload determined and repaired by your Lexus dealer as
soon as possible.

■Front turn signal lights
To allow enough working space,
turn the steering wheel to the
opposite side of the bulb to be
replaced.
Remove the 3 fender liner clips
and 1 screw.
While holding the clamp open,
pull and remove the tabs and
open the fender liner.

■Front side marker lights
Partly remove the fender liner.
Perform the procedure for “Front turn signal lights” from step 1 to 2.
(→ P. 4 9 0 )
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps
listed.
After installing the bulb base, reinstall
the fender liner an d install the clips
and screw.

■Rear turn signal lightsOpen the trunk lid and remove
the cover.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.

■Back-up lights
Open the trunk lid.
For the left side (vehicles with
power trunk opener and closer
only): Pry out each side of the
trunk closer switch in turn by
inserting a screwdriver into the
base.
To prevent damage, cover the tip of
the screwdriver with a rag.
Remove the clips on whichever
side you are replacing and open
the cover of the trunk lid.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
When installing, pass the wire around
the connector rib and make sure that
it does not rest on top of the connec-
tor rib.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.

Maintenance and care
■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by your Lexus
dealer.
●Headlight low beams
●Headlight high beams (LED type)
●Parking lights/daytime running lights
●Side turn signal lights
●Fog lights
●Stop/tail lights
●High mounted stoplight
●License plate lights
●Outer foot lights
●Rear side marker lights
■LED lights
The headlight low beams, headlight high beams (LED type), parking lights/daytime run-
ning lights, fog lights, side turn signal lights, stop/tail lights, rear side marker lights, high
mounted stoplight and license plate lights consis t of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs
burn out, take your vehicle to your Lexus dealer to have the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not indicate a
malfunction. Contact your Lexus dealer for more information in the following situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
●Water has built up inside the headlight.
