Air conditioning filter
The air conditioning filter must be cleaned or changed regularly to main-
tain air conditioning efficiency.
â– Replacement method
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF.
Open the glove box. Remove
the glove box cover.
Remove the filter cover.
Remove the filter.
Be sure that the correct side of
the filter faces up when installing
it.

â– Checking interval
Inspect, clean and replace the air conditioning filter according to the maintenance
schedule. In dusty areas or areas with heavy traffic flow, more frequent cleaning or
early replacement may be required. (For scheduled maintenance information,
please refer to the “Warranty and Services Guide/Owner's Manual Supplement/
Scheduled Maintenance”.)
â– If air flow from the vents decreases dramatically
The filter may be clogged. Check the filter and replace if necessary.
NOTICE
â– To prevent damage to the system
â—ŹWhen using the air conditioning system, make sure that a filter is always installed.
â—ŹWhen cleaning the filter, do not clean the filter with water.
â– Cleaning method
If the filter is dirty, clean by blow-
ing compressed air through the
filter from the downward side.
Hold the air gun 2 in. (5 cm)
from the filter and blow for
approximately 2 minutes at 72
psi (500 kPa, 5.0 kgf/cm
2 or
bar).
If it is not available, have the filter
cleaned by your Lexus dealer.

Electronic key battery
Replace the battery with a new one if it is discharged.
â– You will need the following items:
â—ŹFlathead screwdriver
â—Ź Small Phillips-head screwdriver
â—Ź Lithium battery (CR1632)
â– Replacing the battery
Take out the mechanical key.
Remove the cover.
Remove the depleted battery.
Insert a new battery with the +
terminal facing up.

â– If the electronic key battery is discharged
The following symptoms may occur.
â—ŹThe smart access system with push-button start and wireless remote control will
not function properly.
â—ŹThe operational range is reduced.
â– Use a CR1632 lithium battery
â—ŹBatteries can be purchased at your Lexus dealer, jewelers, or camera stores.
â—ŹReplace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by a Lexus dealer.
â—ŹDispose of used batteries according to the local laws.
CAUTION
â– Removed battery and other parts
Keep away from children. These parts are small and if swallowed by a child, they can
cause choking. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
â– For normal operation after replacing the battery
Observe the following precautions to prevent accidents.
â—ŹAlways work with dry hands.
Moisture may cause the battery to rust.
â—ŹDo not touch or move any other components inside the remote control.
â—ŹDo not bend either of the battery terminals.

Checking and replacing fuses
If any of the electrical components do not operate, a fuse may have blown.
If this happens, check and replace the fuses as necessary.
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF.
Remove the engine compartment cover. (→P. 382)
Open the fuse box cover.
Engine compartment
Push the tabs in and lift the lid
off.
Driver's side instrument panel Remove the lid.
After a system failure, see “Fuse layout and amperage ratings”

Remove the fuse with the pull-
out tool.
Check if the fuse has blown.
