GS350/250_EE (OM30C36E)Perform the following according to the driving conditions:
Do not try to forcibly open a window or move a wiper that is fro-
zen. Pour warm water over the frozen area to melt the ice. Wipe
away the water immediately to prevent it from freezing.
To ensure proper operation of the climate control system fan,
remove any snow that has accumulated on the air inlet vents in
front of the windshield.
Check for and remove any excess ice or snow that may have
accumulated on the exterior lights, vehicle’s roof, chassis, around
the tires or on the brakes.
Remove any snow or mud from the bottom of your shoes before
getting in the vehicle.
Accelerate the vehicle slowly, keep a safe distance between you
and the vehicle ahead, and drive at a reduced speed suitable to road
conditions.
Park the vehicle and move the shift lever to P without setting the
parking brake. The parking brake may freeze up, preventing it from
being released. If necessary, block the wheels to prevent inadver-
tent sliding or creeping.

manually.
Grip the hook section of the wiper arm firmly when shifting the
wiper position.
To rest position
Raise the wiper in line with
the windshield.
You can stand the wipers up for
the rest position.
: More than 10 cm (3.9 in.)
To retract position
Lower the wipers by pressing
on the upper part of the hook
section.
Tire chain installation
Observe the following precautions when installing and removing chains:
Install and remove tire chains in a safe location.
Install tire chains on the rear tires. Do not install tire chains on the front
tires.
Install tire chains on rear tires as tightly as possible. Retighten chains after
driving 0.5  1.0 km (1/4  1/2 mile).
Install tire chains following the instructions provided with the tire chains.

NOTICE
Repairing or replacing snow tires
Request repairs or replacement of snow tires from Lexus dealers or legiti-
mate tire retailers.
This is because the removal and attachment of snow tires affects the opera-
tion of the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters.
Fitting tire chains (vehicles without 19 inch tires)
The tire pressure warning valves and transmitters may not function cor-
rectly when tire chains are fitted.
When standing the windshield wipers up
Raise the wipers in line with the windshield. (P. 362)
Failure to do so may result in damage to the wipers and/or the hood.

Windshield wiper de-icer
Press the “MENU” button on the Remote Touch. (P. 368)
Select “Climate” on the
“Menu” screen.
ON/OFF
Select to turn on the wind-
shield wiper de-icer. The wind-
shield wiper de-icer will
automatically turn off after
approximately 15 minutes. Select-
ing again also turns the de-
icer off.
Operating conditions
The engine switch must be in the IGNITION ON mode.
: If equipped
This feature is used to prevent ice from building up on the wind-
shield and wiper blades.

CAUTION
When the windshield wiper de-icer is on
Do not touch the glass at the lower part of the windshield or to the side of
the front pillars as the surfaces can become very hot and burn you.

CAUTION
When washing the vehicle
Do not apply water to the inside of the engine compartment. Doing so may
cause the electrical components etc. to catch fire.
When cleaning the windshield (with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
When the upper part of the windshield where the raindrop sensor is
located is touched by hand
When a wet rag or similar is held close to the raindrop sensor
If something bumps against the windshield
If you directly touch the raindrop sensor body or if something bumps into
the raindrop sensor
Precautions regarding the exhaust pipes and rear bumper diffusers
Exhaust gases cause the exhaust pipes and rear bumper diffusers to become
quite hot.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the pipes and diffusers
until they have cooled sufficiently, as touching hot exhaust pipes and rear
bumper diffusers can cause burns.
Set the wipers to the intermittent wind-
shield wipers. (P. 245)
If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers
may operate unexpectedly in the follow-
ing situations, and may result in hands
being caught or other serious injuries and
cause damage to the wiper blades.

NOTICE
To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and components
(aluminum wheels etc.)
Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast
• After driving on salted roads
• If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the
paint surface
• After driving in an area contaminated with soot, oily smoke, mine dust,
iron powder or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud
• If liquids such as benzene and gasoline are spilled on the paint surface
If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately.
To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a
place with low humidity when storing the wheels.
Cleaning the exterior lights
Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
When using an automatic car wash (with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
Set the wipers to the intermittent windshield wipers. (P. 245)
If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers may operate and the wiper blades
may be damaged.
