8307-2. Steps to take in an emergency
GS350/250_EE (OM30C36E)
If your vehicle overheats
Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the air conditioning
system.
Check to see if steam is coming out from under the hood.
If you see steam:
Stop the engine. Carefully lift the hood after the steam subsides
and then restart the engine.
If you do not see steam:
Leave the engine running and carefully lift the hood.
Check to see if the cooling fan is operating.
If the fan is operating:
Wait until the temperature of the engine (shown on the instru-
ment panel) begins to fall and then stop the engine.
If the fan is not operating:
Stop the engine immediately and call any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
After the engine has cooled
down sufficiently, check the
engine coolant level and
inspect the radiator core (radi-
ator) for any leaks.

*: The engine oil capacity is a reference quantity to be used when changing
the engine oil. Warm up and turn off the engine, wait more than 5 minutes,
and check the oil level on the dipstick.
Engine oil selection (GS250)
EU area, Nordic countries, Russia, Ukraine, Croatia, Macedo-
nia, Israel
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used in your Lexus vehicle.
Lexus recommends the use of approved “Toyota Genuine Motor
Oil”. Another motor oil of matching quality can also be used.
Oil grade:
0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30:
API grade SL “Energy-Conserving”, SM “Energy-Conserving”,
SN “Resource-Conserving” or ILSAC multigrade engine oil
15W-40 and 20W-50:
API grade SL, SM or SN multigrade engine oil

If you lose your mechanical keys, new genuine mechani-
cal keys can be made by any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional. (P. 120)
If you lose your electronic keys, the risk of vehicle theft
increases significantly. Contact any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped
professional immediately. (P. 122)
Is the electronic key battery weak or depleted? (P. 697)
Is the engine switch in IGNITION ON mode?
When locking the doors, turn the engine switch off. (P.
208)
Is the electronic key left inside the vehicle?
When locking the doors, make sure that you have the
electronic key on your person.
The function may not operate properly due to the condi-
tion of the radio wave. (P. 130)
If you have a problem, check the following before contacting any

equipped professional.
