CAUTION
Operating the front passenger’s seat from the driver’s seat (if equipped)
Do not operate the front passenger’s seat when a passenger is seated in it. In
addition, do not let anyone sit down in the front passenger’s seat while the
seat is being operated. The front passenger may catch their legs between the
instrument panel and seat, resulting in injury.
When adjusting the seat positions or the calf support (if equipped)
Make sure to leave enough space around the feet so they do not get stuck.
When using the calf support (if equipped)
Do not operate the calf support when the vehicle is moving.
Failure to do so may cause death or serious injury in the event of sudden
braking or a collision.
Do not sit on the calf support of the passenger seat.
Doing so may cause seat belts to be worn improperly, which may lead to
serious injury or death in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
Do not step on the calf support.
Doing so could damage the calf support, or could cause you to seriously
injure yourself by falling over.
Stow the calf support when you get in or out of the vehicle or when the
calf support is not in use to avoid stumbling over it.
Do not allow anyone to put their hands or feet under the passenger seat
when stowing the calf support.

NOTICE
Operating the front passenger’s seat from the driver’s seat (if equipped)
Before operating the front passenger’s seat, make sure that there is no lug-
gage or any other objects on the seat or in the footwell that could prevent its
operation.
Such items may result in excess force being applied, causing damage to the
seat and/or the luggage.
To prevent a calf support malfunction (if equipped)
Do not place any objects in the front passenger footwell that could prevent
the operation of the calf support.
Do not place heavy luggage on the calf support.
Do not place anything under the calf support when in use.
There is a possibility that something may get caught and cause damages
when stowing the calf support.

Auto anti-glare function (if equipped)
When the anti-glare inside rear view mirror is set to automatic mode, the out-
side rear view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside
rear view mirror to reduce reflected light. (P. 172)
Using automatic mode in cold weather
When automatic mode is used in cold weather, the door mirror could freeze
up and automatic stowing and return may not be possible. In this event,
remove any ice and snow from the door mirror, then either operate the mirror
using manual mode or move the mirror by hand.
CAUTION
Important points while driving
Observe the following precautions while driving.
Failure to do so may result in loss of control of the vehicle and cause an
accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
Do not adjust the mirrors while driving.
Do not drive with the mirrors folded.
Both the driver and passenger side mirrors must be extended and properly
adjusted before driving.
When a mirror is moving
To avoid personal injury and mirror malfunction, be careful not to get your
hand caught by the moving mirror.
When the mirror defoggers are operating
Do not touch the rear view mirror surfaces, as they can become very hot
and burn you.
NOTICE
If the mirrors become iced up (vehicles with rain-clearing mirror)
In order to retain the rain-clearing properties of the mirror, do not attempt to
scrape the ice off. Instead, remove it by turning on the mirror defoggers or
by applying warm water.

Trailer towing
Weight limits
Check the allowable towing capacity, GVM (Gross Vehicle
Mass), MPAC (Maximum Permissible Axle Capacity), and per-
missible draw bar load before towing. (P. 836)
Towing hitch/bracket
Lexus recommends the use of the Lexus hitch/bracket for your
vehicle. Other products of a suitable nature and comparable qual-
ity may also be used.
To prevent an accident
The handling of the vehicle will feel different when towing a
trailer. Beware of the 3 most common causes of towing-related
accidents: driver error, excessive speed, and overloading.
The strain of towing a trailer will have a negative impact on the
running performance, handling, fuel consumption and endurance
of your vehicle. Use the vehicle features in the correct manner and
operate the vehicle with care for safer driving and optimal comfort.
Damage and/or malfunctions that occur as a result of towing per-
formed for commercial purposes are not covered by the Lexus war-
ranty.
Ask your local authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly
qualified and equipped professional for further details before tow-
ing, as there are additional legal requirements in some countries.

Total trailer weight and permissible drawbar load
Total trailer weight
Weight of the trailer itself plus
the trailer load should be within
the maximum towing capacity.
Exceeding this weight is dan-
gerous. (P. 836)
When the total trailer weight is
greater than the vehicle weight,
we recommend the use of a fric-
tion stabilizer (sway control
device).
Permissible drawbar load
Allocate the trailer load so that
the drawbar load is greater than
25 kg (55.1 lb.) or 4% of the
towing capacity. Do not let the
drawbar load exceed the indi-
cated weight. (P. 836)

Gross vehicle mass
The combined weight of the
driver, passengers, towing hitch,
total curb mass and drawbar
load should not exceed the gross
vehicle mass by more than 100
kg (220.5 lb.). Exceeding this
weight is dangerous.
Maximum permissible rear
axle capacity
The weight borne by the rear
axle should not exceed the max-
imum permissible axle capacity
by 15% or more. Exceeding this
weight is dangerous.
The values for towing capacity
were derived from testing con-
ducted at sea level. Take note
that engine output and towing
capacity will be reduced at high
altitudes.

CAUTION
When the gross vehicle mass limit or maximum permissible axle capacity is
exceeded
Do not exceed the established speed limit for towing a trailer in built-up
areas or 100 km/h (62 mph), whichever is the lower.
