For safety drive
Adjust the angle of the seatback so
that you are sitting straight up and so
that you do not have to lean forward
to steer. (P. 175)
Adjust the seat so that you can
depress the pedals fully and so that
your arms bend slightly at the elbow
when gripping the steering wheel. (  P. 175)
Lock the head restraint in place with the center of the head restraint closest t o
the top of your ears. ( P. 183)
Wear the seat belt correctly. ( P. 38)
Make sure that all occupants are wearing their seat belts before driving the vehi -
cle. ( P. 38)
Use a child restraint system appropriat e for the child until the child becomes
large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s seat belt. ( P. 57)
Make sure that you can see backward clearly by adjusting the inside and outside
rear view mirrors properly. ( P. 188, 190)

The units used on the speedometer may differ depending on the target region.
The warning lights and indicators on th e instrument cluster, center panel and
outside rear view mirrors inform the driv er of the status of the vehicle’s vari-
ous systems.
For the purpose of explanation, the foll owing illustration displays all warning

: These lights turn on when the power switch is turned to ON mo de to indicate that a
system check is being perfor med. They will turn off after the “READY” indicator turns
on. There may be a malfunction in a system if a light does not come on, or turn off.
Have the vehicle inspected by any author ized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer.

: These lights turn on when the power switch is turned to ON mo de to indicate that a
system check is being performed. They will turn off after the hybrid system is on, or
after a few seconds. There may be a malfunct ion in a system if the lights do not come
on, or turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus
authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.

: This light illuminates on the Center panel.

: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
* 6
: When the outside temperature is approximately 3 C (37 F) or lower, the indicator
will flash for approximately 10 seconds, then stay on.
