■Caution regarding interference with electronic devices
●People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy- pacemakers or implantable cardioverter de fibrillators should maintain a reasonable distance between themselves and the smart entry & start system antennas. ( P. 153)
The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices. If necessary, the entry function can be disabled. Ask any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorizedrepairer, or any reliable repairer for details, such as the frequency of radio waves and
timing of the emitted radio waves. Then, consult your doctor to see if you should dis- able the entry function.

Cargo and luggage
Take notice of the following information about storage precautions, cargo
capacity and load:
WARNING
■Things that must not be carried in the trunk
The following things may cause a fire if loaded in the trunk:
●Receptacles containing gasoline
●Aerosol cans
■Storage precautions
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may prevent the pedals fr om being depressed properly, may block the driver’s vision, or may result in items hitting the driver or passengers, possibly causingan accident.
●Stow cargo and luggage in the trunk whenever possible.
●Do not place cargo or luggage in or on the following locations.
• At the feet of the driver
• On the front passenger or rear seats (when stacking items) • On the package tray• On the instrument panel
• On the dashboard • In front of the Remote Touch screen
●Secure all items in the occupant compartment.
■Load and distribution
●Do not overload your vehicle.
●Do not apply loads unevenly. Improper loading may cause deterioration of steering or braking control which may cause death or serious injury.

Driving

With the doors unlocked, press the
center of the rear edge of the fuel
filler door.
Push until you hear a click and take your hand away to slightly open the fuel filler
door. Then open the door fully by hand.
Turn the fuel tank cap slowly to
remove it and put it into the holder
on the fuel filler door.
■When the fuel filler door cannot be opened by pressing the rearward of the fuel filler door

Unlock with the mechanical key

●The glove box light turns on when the tail lights are on.
●The trunk opener main switch is located in the glove box. (P. 148)
●The insert inside the glove box can be removed.
●An SRS knee airbag for the front passenger’s seat is built into the glove box door. ( P. 43)
Using with half-open
Grip the knob to release the lock,
and slide the armrest as far back.
Using with fully open
Grip the knob to release the lock,
and lift the armrest to open.

Trunk features
Raise the hooks when needed.
The cargo hooks are provided for
securing loose items.
Pull the strap when using the hook.
Cargo hooks
WARNING
To avoid injury, always return the cargo hooks to their stowed positions when not in use.
Luggage hook
NOTICE
Do not hang any object heavier than 5 kg (11 lb.) on the luggage hook.

■Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to maintain the quality of the vehicle’s interior.
■Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cleaners available. Use a sponge or brush to apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not use water. Wipe dirty surfaces and letthem dry. Excellent results are obtained by keeping the carpet as dry as possible.
■Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check the belts periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.
■When cleaning the carpeted portions of the glove box, console box, etc.
If a strong adhesive tape is used, there is a possibility that the surface of the carpet could be damaged.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
●Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle, such as on the floor, in the hybrid battery (traction battery) air vents, and in the trunk. Doing so may cause the hybrid battery, electrical components, etc. to malfunction or
catch fire.
●Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet. ( P. 44) An electrical malfunction may cause the airbags to deploy or not function properly,
resulting in death or serious injury.
■Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel may reflect off the wind-
shield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.

12-volt battery
The 12-volt battery is located on the
left-hand side of trunk.
Pull the strap upwards to lift up the 12-
volt battery cover.
Make sure that the 12-volt battery terminals are not corroded and that there are
no loose connections, cracks, or loose clamps.

Trunk
Push the tab in and lift the lid off.
Remove the lid.
The upper part of the 12-volt battery
Pull the strap upwards to lift up the 12-
volt battery cover.
When one or more of the fuses in this unit are blown, the unit needs to bereplaced as a whole.
Remove the fuse with the pullout
tool.
Only type A fuse can be removed using the pullout tool.

When trouble arises

Tighten down the towing eyelet
securely using a wheel nut wrench
or hard metal bar.
Securely attach cables or chains to the towing eyelet.
Take care not to damage the vehicle body.
Enter the vehicle being towed and start the hybrid system.
If the hybrid system does not start, turn the power switch to ON mode.
Shift the shift lever to N and release the parking brake.
When the shift lever cannot be shifted: P. 229
■While towing
If the hybrid system is off, the power assist for the brakes and steering will not function, making steering and braking more difficult.
■Wheel nut wrench
Wheel nut wrench is installed in trunk. ( P. 499, 511)
