Towing with a sling-type truck
CAUTION
■Installing towing eyelet to the vehicle
Make sure that towing eyelet is installed securely.
If not securely installed, towing eyelet ma y come loose during towing. This may lead
to accidents that cause serious injury or even death.

■To prevent body damage
Do not tow with a sling type truck, either from the front or rear.

NOTICE
■To prevent damaging the vehicle
●Do not tow the vehicle with the engine switch “OFF”.
The steering lock mechanism is not st rong enough to hold the front wheel
straight.
●When raising the vehicle, ensure adequate ground clearance for towing at the
opposite end of the raised vehicle. Wi thout adequate clearance, the vehicle
could be damaged while being towed.

If you think something is wrong
If you notice any of the following symptoms, your vehicle probably needs
adjustment or repair. Contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible.

Fuel pump shut off system
■Follow the procedure below to restart the engine after the system is activated.Switch to “ACC” mode or “OFF”.
Restart the engine.
NOTICE
■Before starting the engine
Inspect the ground under the vehicle.
If you find that fuel has leaked on to th e ground, the fuel system has been damaged
and is in need of repair. Do not restart the engine.
To minimize the risk of fuel leakage when the engine stalls or an airbag
inflates upon collision, the fuel pump shut off system stops supplying fuel to
the engine.

Your Lexus’ Electronic Control U nit (ECU) may contain another EDR.
Ther
e are a variety of driving situation s which include activating the vehi -
cle stability control (VSC) under whic h the V
SC EDR will record certain
information. The VSC EDR may record so me or all of the following infor-
mation:
● Behavior of the v
ehicle
● Steering wheel angle
●Vehicle speed
Your vehicle has computers that monitor and control certain aspects of
your vehicle. These computers assist in driving and maintaining optimal
vehicle performance.
Besides storing data useful for troublesh ooting, there is a system to record
data in a crash or a near car crash event. This is called an Event Data
Recorder (EDR).

Disclosure of the data
Lexus will not disclose the data re corded in an EDR to a third party
except when:

eement from the vehicle's ow ner (or the leasing company for a
leased vehicle) is obtained

ficially requested by the police or other authorities
●Used as a defense for L
exus in a law suit
● Or
dered by a court
However, if necessary Lexus will:

● Disclose the data to a thir
d party for research purposes without dis -
closing details of the vehicle owner, and only when it is deemed neces -
sary

If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer sounds...
Stop the vehicle immediately. Continuing to drive the vehicle may be dangerous.
The following warning indicates a possible problem in the brake system.
Immediately stop the vehicl e in a safe place and contact your Lexus
dealer.

Brake system warning light (warning buzzer)*
•Low brake fluid
• Malfunction in the brake system
This light also comes on when the parking brake is not
released. If the light turns off after the parking brake is fully
released, the system is operating normally.
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights turn on or
flash. If a light turns on or flashes, bu t then turns off, this does not necessar
-
ily indicate a malfunction in the system.
