Safety information for children
It is recommended that children sit in the rear seats to avoid acci-
dental contact with the shift lever, wiper switch etc.
Use the rear door child-protector lock or the window lock switch
to avoid children opening the door while driving or operating the
power window accidentally.
Do not let small children operate equipment which may catch or
pinch body parts, such as the power window, hood, trunk, seats
etc.
Observe the following precautions when children are in the vehi-
cle.
Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child, until the
child becomes large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s seat
belt.
CAUTION
Never leave children unattended in the vehicle, and never allow children to
have or use the key.
Children may be able to start the vehicle or shift the vehicle into neutral.
There is also a danger that children may injure themselves by playing with
the windows, the moon roof or other features of the vehicle. In addition,
heat build-up or extremely cold temperatures inside the vehicle can be fatal
to children.

For safety and security
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarm:
Unlock the doors or open the trunk using the entry function or
wireless remote control.
Turn the engine switch to ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON
mode, or start the engine. (The alarm will be deactivated or
stopped after a few seconds.)
System maintenance
The vehicle has a maintenance-free type alarm system.
Items to check before locking the vehicle
To prevent unexpected triggering of the alarm and vehicle theft, make sure of
the following:
Nobody is in the vehicle.
The windows and moon roof (if equipped) are closed before the alarm is
set.
No valuables or other personal items are left in the vehicle.

Wireless remote control
The wireless remote control can be used to lock and unlock the
vehicle.
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon
roof (press and hold)

Unlocks all the doors
Opens the windows and moon
roof (press and hold)

Opens the trunk
(press and hold)
If the vehicle is equipped with a
power trunk lid, the trunk lid auto-
matically opens fully.

Operation signals
Doors:
The emergency flashers flash to indicate that the doors have been locked/
unlocked. (Locked: once; Unlocked: twice)
Windows and moon roof:
A buzzer sounds to indicate that the windows and moon roof are operating.
Welcome light illumination control

CAUTION
When closing the windows or moon roof using wireless remote control
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may result in death or serious injury.
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body
in a position where it could be caught when a window or moon roof is
being operated.
To prevent inadvertent power windows and moon roof operation, never let
a small child have and use the wireless remote control.
Jam protection function
Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection
function intentionally.
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just
before the window or moon roof fully closes.

Power windows
The power windows can be opened and closed using the switches.
Operating the switch moves the windows as follows:
Closing
One-touch closing

One-touch opening

: Pushing the switch in the opposite
direction will stop window travel
partway.
Press the switch to lock the pas-
senger window switches.
The indicator will come on.
Use this switch to prevent children
from accidentally opening or clos-
ing a passenger window.

Door lock linked window operation
The power windows can be opened and closed using the mechanical key.*

The power windows can be opened and closed using the wireless remote
control.

When the battery is disconnected
The window lock switch is disabled. If necessary, press the window lock
switch after reconnecting the battery.
Power windows open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display
in the instrument cluster when the engine switch is turned off and the driver’s
door is opened with the power windows open.
Customization
Settings (e.g. linked door lock operation) can be changed.

The moon roof can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
Operating the moon roof after turning the engine off
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds after the
engine switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, how-
ever, be operated once either front door is opened.
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while the moon
roof is closing or tilting down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens
slightly.
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade
will open automatically when the moon roof is opened.
Door lock linked moon roof operation
The moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key.* (P.

The moon roof can be opened and closed using the wireless remote con-
trol.
