Interior features
●The console box light turns on when the tail lights are on.
●When using the console box lid as an armrest,
slide the console box lid forward or backward
as needed. Slide the lid while pulling up the
upper lever to release the lock.
●The tray in the console box slides forward/
backward.
●To remove the tray, lift up.
NOTICE
Do not insert items exceeding the height of the tray. Doing so may prevent opening and
closing of the lid.

When trouble arises
Securely attach cables or chains to
the towing hooks.
Take care not to damage the vehicle
body.
Enter the vehicle being towed and start the engine.
If the engine does not start, turn th e engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Set the four-wheel drive control switch in H4 and push the center differential
lock/unlock switch to unlock the center differential. ( P. 3 3 6 )
For models with the rear height control air suspension: Change the vehicle
height to N (normal) mode and press the height control OFF button to end
the vehicle height control operation. ( P. 3 3 1 )
Shift the shift lever to N and release the parking brake.
When the shift lever cannot be shifted: P. 5 4 8
■While towing
If the engine is not running, the power assist for the brakes and steering will not function,
making steering and br aking more difficult.
■Wheel nut wrench
Wheel nut wrench is installed in the tool box. ( P. 5 3 4 )

If a warning message is displayed
Master warning light
The master warning light also comes on
or flashes in order to indicate that a mes-
sage is currently being displayed on the
instrument cluster.

If any of the warning lights comes on ag ain after the following actions have been
performed, contact your Lexus dealer.
If a warning is shown on the instrument cluster, stay calm and perform the fol-
lowing actions:

Indicates that the pre-collisio n system is not currently
functional because the grille cover or the sensor is dirty
 Check the grille cover and the sensor and clean
them if they are dirty.
(If equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the rear height control air sus-
pension
A buzzer also sounds.
 Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and
contact your Lexus dealer.
(U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven
distance on the maintenance schedule
* should be per-
formed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 km) after
the message has been reset.
 If necessary, perform maintenance.
(U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance is required to correspond
to the driven distance on the maintenance schedule*.
Comes on approximately 5000 miles (8000 km) after
the message has been reset. (The indicator will not work
properly unless the message has been reset.)

If you have a flat tire
●Stop the vehicle on a hard, flat surface.
●Set the parking brake.
●Shift the shift lever to P.
●Turn off the rear height control air suspension (if equipped). (P. 3 3 1 )
●Stop the engine.
●Turn on the emergency flashers. ( P. 5 0 2 )
Your vehicle is equipped with a spare ti re. The flat tire can be replaced with
the spare tire.

CAUTION
■If you have a flat tire
Do not continue driving with a flat tire.
Driving even a short distance with a flat ti re can damage the tire and the wheel beyond
repair, which could result in an accident.

CAUTION
■Using the tire jack
Improper use of the tire jack may cause the vehicle to suddenly fall off the jack, leading
to death or serious injury.
●Do not use the tire jack for any purpose ot her than replacing tires or installing and
removing tire chains.
●Only use the tire jack that comes with this vehicle for replacing a flat tire.
Do not use it on other vehicles, and do not use other tire jacks for replacing tires on
this vehicle.
●Always check that the tire jack is securely set to the jack point.
●Do not put any part of your body under the vehicle while it is supported by the jack.
●Do not start or run the engine while your vehicle is supported by the jack.
●Do not raise the vehicle while someone is inside.
●When raising the vehicle, do not put an object on or under the jack.
●Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to replace the tire.
●Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle.
●Be sure to turn off the height control and stop the engine.
Take particular care when lowering the ve hicle to ensure that no one working on or
near the vehicle will be injured.
■Using the jack handle
Tighten all the jack handle bolts securely using a Phillips-head screwdriver, to prevent
the extension parts from coming apart unexpectedly.
