■Mechanical key
To take out the mechan ical key, slide the
release lever and take the key out. After using the mechanical key, store it in
the electronic key. Carry the mechanical
key together with the electronic key.
If the electronic key battery is depleted
or the entry function does not operate
properly, you will need the mechanical
key.
■Wireless remote control
Locks the doors
Check that the door is securely locked.
Unlocks the doors
Opens the windows and moon roof*
Opens the glass hatch (press and hold)
Sounds the alarm (if equipped)
*: This setting must be customized at your Lexus dealer.1

If the electronic key does not operate properly
■Unlocking and locking the doors
Use the mechanical key ( P.1 2 ) i n o r d e r t o
perform the following operations (driver’s
door only):
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon roof*
(turn and hold)
Unlocks the doors
Turning the key rearward unlocks the
driver’s door. Turning the key once
again unlocks the other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof*
(turn and hold)
*: These settings must be customized at your Lexus dealer.
■Starting the engine
Ensure that the shift lever is in P and
depress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch.
If any of the doors is opened or
closed while the key is being touched
to the switch, an alarm will sound to
indicate that the start function cannot
detect the electronic key.
Press the engine switch within 10 sec-
onds of the buzzer sounding, keeping
the brake pedal depressed.
In the event that the engine switch still cannot be operated, contact your Lexus dealer.

If the electronic key battery becomes depleted , replace it with a new battery. For instruc-
tions on replacing the battery, refer to the “O WNER’S MANUAL”. If you need further assis-
tance, contact your Lexus dealer.
