Operating the windows and moon roof
The windows and moon roof can be opened using a
wireless key from outside the vehicle.*
NOTE: * The windows and moon roof can be set inoperative. Ask your Lexus dealer for details.
Push the UNLOCKº button until the windows and moon roof
start to move. A beep sounds just before opening. When you
release the button, the windows and moon roof stop opening.

CAUTION
Do not start the vehicle while the adjustments are
being made.
 Take care not to select the wrong button, or the seat
could strike the rear passenger or hit your body
against the steering wheel. If this happens, you can
stop the movement by pressing another driving
position memory switch.

Cassette tape player operation
(a) Playing a cassette tape
When you insert a cassette tape, the exposed tape should
face to the right.
The player will automatically start when you insert a cassette
tape. At this time, TAPEº appears on the display.
To stop or eject the cassette tape, push the EJECTº button.
Auto-reverse feature: After the cassette player reaches the
end of a tape, it automatically reverses and begins to play the
other side, regardless of whether the cassette was playing or
fast forwarding.
If a cassette is already in the slot, push the T APEº button.
Dolby Noise Reduction* feature: If you are listening to a
tape that was recorded with Dolby  Noise Reduction, push the

º button. The display will indicate that the Dolby noise
reduction system is on.
The Dolby NR mode reduces tape noise by about 10 dB. For
best sound reproduction, play your tapes with the Dolby NR on
or off according to the mode used for recording the tape.
To play a tape recorded without Dolby NR, push the button
again to turn off the Dolby NR.

Cassette tape player operation
(a) Playing a cassette tape
Push the ON/SOURCEº button to choose tape mode.
The player will automatically start. At this time, TAPEº
appears on the display.
You can play a cassette tape when a cassette tape is loaded
in the front audio system.
Auto-reverse feature: After the cassette player reaches the
end of a tape, it automatically reverses and begins to play the
other side, regardless of whether the cassette was playing or
fast forwarding.(b) Manual program selection
Programº button: Push the º or º (DISC/CH/PROG)
button to select the other side of a cassette tape. The display
indicates which side is currently selected. (
º indicates the
top side, º indicates the bottom side.)
Rewindº button: Push and hold the 
º (TUNE/TRACK)
button until REWº appears on the display.
To stop rewinding, push the same button.
Fast forwardº button: Push and hold the 
º
(TUNE/TRACK) button until FFº will appears on the display.
To stop fast forwarding, push the same button.

NOTICE
As soon as the center differential lock switch is turnedon, the VSC OFFº indicator light comes on. After thewheels are out of the ditch or off the slippery or bumpysurface, turn the center differential lock switch off.Make sure the center differential lock indicator light andvehicle stability control system off indicator light turnoff.
Hº (high speed position, center differential unlocked):
Lever at Hº, center differential lock button left out
Use this for normal driving on all types of roads, from dry
hard-surfaced roads to wet, icy or snow-covered roads. This
position gives greater economy, quietest ride, least wear and
better vehicle control.
Hº (high speed position, center differential locked): Lever
at Hº, center differential lock button pushed in
Use this for greater traction when you experience a loss of
power, such as wheel slipping, in the center differential unlock
mode.
Nº (neutral position): Lever at Nº
No power is delivered to the wheels. The vehicle must be
stopped. Lº (low speed position, center differential unlocked):
Lever at Lº, center differential lock button left out
Use this for maximum power and traction. Use this for climbing
or descending steep hills, off-road driving, and hard pulling in
sand or mud.
In this mode, the braking feeling that occurs when the wheels
are negotiating a sharp corner is further reduced than in the Lº
(low position, center differential locked) mode.
Lº (low speed position, center differential locked):
Lever
at Lº, center differential lock button pushed in
Use this for maximum power and traction. Use this for hard
pulling in si tuations the vehicle cannot negotiate even in the Lº
(low speed position, center differential unlocked) mode. Also,
using this mode when driving down steep of f-road inclines will
help contribute to increased vehicle stability.

(b) Shifting procedure
To shift between unlock and lock modes in Hº, push the
center differential lock button.
To shift between unlock and lock modes in Lº, push the
center differential lock button.
To shift between Hº and Lº, stop the vehicle, put the
transmission into Nº and move the four-wheel drive control
lever.CAUTION
Never move the four-wheel drive control lever if wheels
are slipping. Stop the slipping or spinning before
shifting.
NOTICE
For normal driving on dry and hard surface roads, unlock the center differential. To prevent damage to thecenter differential lock system, do not push the centerdifferential lock button when the vehicle is cornering or
when its wheels are spinning freely off the ground. If the
indicator light does not go off when unlocking the center differential, drive straight ahead while
accelerating or decelerating, or drive in reverse.

During a service call, you can record a conversation with the
Lexus Link Call Center Advisor. This function is very
convenient for drivers so they do not have to take notes while
driving.
RECº button: Push this button to record information or a
conversation with Lexus Link Call Center. To stop recording,
push the button again. Up to 5 minutes of recording time is
available.
When you push the RECº button, all previous messages are
deleted and the system begins recording your new message.At the start of recording, Recordingº will be announced. At the
end of recording, you will hear Recording completeº. If there
are only 15 seconds left for recording, two chimes sound. If the
recording memory is full, Recording time exceededº will be
announced and recording will be terminated.
If you push this button while you are hearing a playback of
recording, it terminates the playback and recording will start.
At this time, the previous recording will be erased.
PLAYº button:
Push this button to play the recorded
conversation. Playback completeº is announced when the
playback is complete. To stop the operation, push the button
again. Playback cancelledº is announced. The volume has
a total of eight positions/levels available.
- VOL +º button: Push this button on either side to adjust the
volume. When you change the volume, one chime sounds.
