nEffects of vehicle speed on wiper operation
Vehicle speed affects the following even when the wipers are not in “AUTO” mode.
lIntermittent wiper interval
lWiper operation when the washer is being used (delay until drip prevention
wiper sweep occurs)
Low speed wiper operation selected, wiper operation will be switched from low
speed to intermittent wiper operation only when the vehicle is stationary.
(However, the mode cannot be switched when the adjustment dial for the intermit-
tent wiper interval is set to the lowest setting.)

nOutside rear view mirror defogger activation linked to windshield wiper opera-
tion
The outside rear view mirror defogger automatically turns on when you operate the
windshield wipers.
nIf no windshield washer fluid sprays
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the wind-
shield washer fluid reservoir.
nCustomization that can be configured at Lexus dealer
Settings (e.g. drip prevention function) can be changed.

CAUTION
nCaution regarding the use of windshield wipers in “AUTO” mode
The windshield wipers may operate unexpectedly if the sensor is touched or the
windshield is subject to vibration in “AUTO” mode. Take care that your fingers or
anything else do not become caught in the windshield wipers.
The sensor judges the amount of raindrops.

NOTICE
nWhen the windshield is dry
Do not use the wipers, as they may damage the windshield.
nWhen a nozzle becomes blocked
Do not try to clear it with a pin or other object. The nozzle will be damaged.
nWhen there is no washer fluid spray from the nozzle
Damage to the washer fluid pump may be caused if the lever is pulled toward you
and held continually.

Headlight cleaner switch∗
nThe headlight cleaner can be operated when
When the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode and the
headlight switch is turned on.
nWindshield washer linked operation
When the windshield washer is operated with the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
in IGNITION ON mode and the headlights on, the headlight cleaner will operate
once. (→P. 1 6 0 )
NOTICE
nWhen the washer fluid tank is empty
Do not use this function when the washer fluid tank is empty. This may cause the
washer fluid pump to overheat.
Washer fluid can be sprayed on the headlights.
Press the switch to clean the
headlights.

When driving
The system continues follow-up cruising while adjusting for changes in the
speed of the vehicle ahead in order to maintain the vehicle-to-vehicle dis-
tance set by the driver.
Example of acceleration (when there are no longer vehicles driving
slower than the set speed in the lane ahead): When the speed is set to
62 mph (100 km/h) and the vehicle ahead driving at 50 mph (80
km/h) is out of the lane
When the vehicle ahead of you executes a lane change, the system slowly
accelerates until the set vehicle speed is reached. The system then returns to
fixed speed cruising.
nDynamic radar cruise control warning lights, messages and buzzers
Warning lights, messages and buzzers are used to indicate a system malfunction or
to alert you to the need for caution while driving. (→P. 3 9 2 )
nThe dynamic radar cruise can be set when
lThe shift lever is in the D position or S position. However, it cannot be set if any
of the ranges 1 through 3 has been selected.
lVehicle speed is between approximately 30 mph (50 km/h) and 85 mph (135
km/h).
nAccelerating
The vehicle can be accelerated normally.
nAutomatically canceling vehicle-to-vehicle distance control
Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control driving is automatically canceled in the follow-
ing situations.
lVehicle speed falls below 25 mph (40 km/h)
lVSC is activated
lThe sensor cannot operate correctly because it is covered in some way.
lThe windshield wipers are operating at high speed.
lThe “ECT SNOW” switch is set to snow mode.
If vehicle-to-vehicle distance control driving is automatically canceled for any other
reason, there may be a malfunction in the system. Contact your Lexus dealer.

When the VSC/TRAC/hill-start assist control systems are operating

ping, rolling backwards when

Provides integrated control of the ABS, brake assist, TRAC, VSC, hill-start
assist control, and EPS systems.
Maintains vehicle stability when swerving on slippery road surfaces by
controlling the brakes and engine output.

Interior lights list
Your Lexus is equipped with the illuminated entry system to assist in enter-
ing the vehicle. Owing to the function of the system, the lights shown in the
following illustration automatically turn on/off according to the presence of
the electronic key, whether the doors are locked/unlocked, whether the
doors are opened/closed, and the “ENGINE START STOP” switch mode.

nTo prevent the battery from being discharged
If the overhead courtesy lights and interior lights remain on when the door is not
fully closed and the interior light switch (door position on/off) is on, the lights will go
off automatically after 20 minutes.
