Turns the door position on/off

Off
■Rear interior light
The rear interior light turns on/off
together with the front interior light.
■Front personal lights
Turns the lights on/off (touch the light)
■Rear personal lights
Turns the light on/off
■Illuminated entry system
The lights automatically turn on/off accord-
ing to engine switch mode, the presence of
the electronic key, whether the doors are
locked/unlocked, and whether the doors
are opened/closed.
■To prevent the battery from being dis-
charged
If the interior lights remain on when the
engine switch is turned off, the lights will go
off automatically after 20 minutes.
■When front interior light or front per-
sonal lights do not respond as normal
In the following cases, the interior lights and
front personal lights may not respond as
normal.
●When water, dirt, etc., have adhered to
the lens surface
●When operated with a wet hand
●When wearing gloves, etc.
■The interior lights may turn on automati-
cally when
If any of the SRS airbag s deploy (inflate) or
in the event of a strong rear impact, the inte-
rior lights will turn on automatically.
The interior lights will turn off automatically
after approximately 20 minutes.
The interior lights can be turned off manu-
ally. However, in order to help prevent fur-
ther collisions, it is recommended that they
be left on until sa fety can be ensured.
(The interior lights may not turn on auto-
matically depending on the force of the
impact and conditions of the collision.)

Some functions can be customized.

NOTICE
■Removing light lenses
Never remove the lens for the front inte-
rior light and front personal lights. Other-
wise, the lights will be damaged. If the
lens need to remove , contact your Lexus
dealer.
■To prevent battery discharge
Do not leave the lights on longer than
necessary when the engine is not run-
ning.

Interior features
The power outlet can be used for 12 V
accessories that run on less than 10 A.
Open the lid.
■The power outlet can be used when
The engine switch is in ACCESSORY or
IGNITION ON mode.
■When turning the engine switch off
Disconnect electrical devices with charging
functions, such as mobile battery packs. If
such devices are left connected, the engine
switch may not be turned off normally.
1 To set the visor in the forward posi-
tion, flip it down.
2 To set the visor in the side position,
flip down, unhook, and swing it to
the side.
Slide the cover to open.
The light turns on when the cover is
opened.
■To prevent battery discharge
If the vanity lights remain on when the
engine switch is turned off, the lights will go
off automatically after 20 minutes.
Power outlet
NOTICE
■To avoid damaging the power outlet
Close the power outlet lid when the
power outlet is not in use.
Foreign objects or liq uids that enter the
power outlet may cause a short circuit.
■To prevent the fuse from being blown
Do not use an accessory that uses more
than 12 V 10 A.
■To prevent the battery from being dis-
charged
Do not use the power outlet longer than
necessary when the engine is off.

The rear sunshade can be raised and
lowered.
Raise/lower
■The rear sunshade can be used when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON
mode.
■Operating the rear sunshade after turn-
ing the engine switch off
The rear sunshade can be operated for
approximately 1 minute even after the
engine switch is turned to ACCESSORY
mode or turned off.
■Reverse operation feature
To ensure adequate rear visibility, the rear
sunshade automatically lowers when the
shift lever is shifted to R.
However, the rear suns hade is raised again
if any of the following occurs:
●The button is pressed again.*
●The shift lever is shifted into P.
●The shift lever is shifted out of R, and the vehicle reaches a speed of 9 mph (15
km/h).
If the engine is off when the rear sunshade
has been lowered due to the reverse opera-
tion feature, it will no t be raised even when
the engine is turned on again and the vehi-
cle reaches a speed of 9 mph (15 km/h). To
raise the sunshade again, press the button.
*: Occasionally, the reverse function may
not be carried out after the switch has
been pressed. Repeat the above opera-
tion to operate the function.
NOTICE
■When not in use
Keep the rear vani ty mirror closed.
■To prevent the battery from being dis-
charged
Do not leave the vanity lights on for
extended periods while the engine is
stopped.
Rear sunshade (if equipped)
WARNING
■When the rear sunshade is being
extended or retracted
Do not place fingers or other objects in
the fastener section or in the opening.
They may get caught, causing injury.
NOTICE
To prevent battery discharge, do not
operate the rear sunshade when the
engine is off.
■To ensure normal operation of the
rear sunshade
Observe the following precautions:
●Do not place excessi ve load on the
motor or other components of the rear
sunshade.
●Do not place objects where they may
hinder opening and closing opera-
tions.
●Do not attach items to the rear sun-
shade.
●Keep the opening clean and clear of
obstructions.
●Do not operate the rear sunshade con-
tinuously for long periods of time.

WARNING
■When cleaning the windshield (vehi-
cles with rain-sensing windshield wip-
ers)
Set the wipers to the intermittent wind-
shield wipers. ( P.150)
If AUTO mode is se lected, the wipers
may operate unexpectedly in the follow-
ing situations, and may result in hands
being caught or other serious injuries
and cause damage to the wiper blades.
●When the upper part of the windshield
where the raindrop sensor is located is
touched by hand
●When a wet rag or si milar is held close
to the raindrop sensor
●If something bumps against the wind-
shield
●If you directly touch the raindrop sen-
sor body or if something bumps into
the raindrop sensor
■Precautions regarding the exhaust
pipes and rear bumper diffusers
Exhaust gases cause the exhaust pipes
and rear bumper diffusers to become
quite hot.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not
to touch the pipes and diffusers until they
have cooled sufficiently, as touching hot
exhaust pipes and rear bumper diffusers
can cause burns.
■Precaution regarding the rear
bumper
If the paint of the rear bumper is chipped
or scratched, the following systems may
not function correctly. If this occurs, con-
sult your Lexus dealer.
●Lexus Safety System + 2.5
●BSM
●RCTA
●PKSB (if equipped)
NOTICE
■To prevent paint deterioration and
corrosion on the body and compo-
nents (aluminum wheels, etc.)
●Wash the vehicle immediately in the
following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast
• After driving on salted roads
• If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the
paint surface
• After driving in an area contaminated with soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron
powder or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud
• If liquids such as benzene and gasoline are spilled on the paint surface
●If the paint is chipped or scratched,
have it repaired immediately.
●To prevent the wheels from corroding,
remove any dirt and store in a place
with low humidity when storing the
wheels.
■Cleaning the exterior lights
●Wash carefully. Do not use organic
substances or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the
lights.
●Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the
lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.

■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the
fuse has been replaced, a bulb may need
replacement.
●If the replaced fuse blows again, have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
■If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protecting
the wiring harness from damage.
■When replacing light bulbs
Lexus recommends that you use genuine
Lexus products designed for this vehicle.
Because certain bulbs are connected to cir-
cuits designed to prevent overload,
non-genuine parts or parts not designed for
this vehicle may be unusable.

WARNING
■To prevent system breakdowns and
vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to
the vehicle, and possibly a fire or injury.
●Never use a fuse of a higher amperage
rating than that indicated, or use any
other object in place of a fuse.
●Always use a genuine Lexus fuse or
equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wire, even
as a temporary fix.
●Do not modify the fuses or fuse boxes.
NOTICE
■Before replacing fuses
Have the cause of electrical overload
determined and repaired by your Lexus
dealer as soon as possible.

 Make sure the vehicle has a full tank
of gasoline and the area around the
headlight is not deformed.
 Park the vehicle on level ground.
 Make sure the tire inflation pressure
is at the specified level.
 Have someone sit in the driver’s
seat.
 Bounce the vehicle several times.
1 Using a Phillips-head screwdriver,
turn bolt A in either direction.
Remember the turning direction and the
number of turns.
Single-beam headlights

2 Turn bolt B the same number of
turns and in the same direction as
step 1.
If the headlight cannot be adjusted using
this procedure, take the vehicle to your
Lexus dealer to adjust the headlight aim.

■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has
burnt out, have it replaced by your
Lexus dealer.
 Headlight
 Parking lights and daytime running
lights
 Front turn signal lights (LED type)
 Side marker lights
 Side turn signal lights
 Stop/tail lights
 Tail lights
 Back-up light
 High mounted stoplight
 License plate lights
■LED Lights
The lights other than the front turn signal
lights (bulb type) and rear turn signal lights
each consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to your
Lexus dealer to have the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the inside of
the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the
inside of the headlight lens does not indi-
cate a malfunction. Contact your Lexus
dealer for more information in the following
situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the
inside of the lens.
●Water has built up in side the headlight.
■When replacing light bulbs

Maintenance and care
■Front turn signal lights (bulb type)
1 IS500: Removing the engine com-
partment cover.
1 Push the center of the clip.
2 Remove the clip.
2 For the left side only: Pinch the clip
to remove the washer fluid filler
opening. 3
Turn the bulb base
counterclockwise.
4 Remove the light bulb.
5 Install a new light bulb then install
the bulb base to the light unit by
inserting it and turning the bulb
base clockwise.
After installing the light bulb, turn on the
front turn signal light to visually check that
there is no light leaking from the bulb base.
6 After replacing the left side bulb,
install the washer fluid filler opening
to its original position.
