When driving
(6)If your vehicle will be towing a trailer, load from your trailer will betransferred to your vehicle. Consul t this manual to determine how this
reduces the available cargo and luggage load capacity of your vehi-
cle.
Lexus does not recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle. Your vehicle is
not designed for trailer towing.
Example based on your vehicle
Cargo capacity
Total load capacity
When 1 person with the weight of 176 lb. (80 kg) is riding in your vehicle,
which has a total load capacity of 34 5 lb. (155 kg), the available amount
of cargo and luggage load capacity will be as follows:
345 lb. — 176 lb. = 169 lb. (155 kg —80 kg = 75 kg)
In this condition, if 1 more occupant wi th the weight of 154 lb. (70 kg) gets on,
the available cargo and luggage load will be reduced as follows:
169 lb. — 154 lb. = 15 lb. (75 kg — 70 kg = 5 kg)
As shown in the above example, if the number of occupants increases,
the cargo and luggage load equaling the weight of the occupant who got
on later, by an amount. In other wo rds, if an increase in the number of
occupants causes an excess of the total load capacity (combined weight
of occupants plus cargo and luggage load), you must reduce the cargo
and luggage on your vehicle.

Vehicle load limits
Vehicle load limits include total load capacity, seating capacity, towing capac-
ity and cargo capacity.
■ Total load capacity: 345 lb. (155 kg)
Total load capacity means the combined weight of occupants, cargo and lug-
gage.
■Seating capacity: 2 occupants
Seating capacity means the maximum number of occupants whose esti-
mated average weight is 150 lb. (68 kg) per person.
■Towing capacity
Lexus does not recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle.
■Cargo capacity
Cargo capacity may increase or decrease depending on the weight and the
number of occupants.
■Total load capacity and seating capacity
These details are also described on th e tire and loading information label.

CAUTION
■Overloading the vehicle
Do not overload the vehicle.
It may not only cause damage to the tire s, but also degrade steering and braking
ability, resulting in an accident.

Trailer towing
Lexus does not recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle. Lexus also does
not recommend the installation of a tow hitch or the use of a tow hitch carrier
for a wheelchair, scooter, bicycle, etc. The LFA is not designed for trailer tow-
ing or for the use of to w hitch mounted carriers.

Dinghy towing
The LFA can be dinghy towed in a forward direction (with 4 wheels on the
ground) behind a motor home.
Towing your vehicle with 4 wheels on the groundTo prevent damage to your vehicle, perform the following procedures
before towing: Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position.
Select Neutral.
Release the parking brake.
Turn the ignition switch to the “ACC” position.
Ensure that the audio system and other powered devices have been
turned off.
After towing, leave the engine in idle for at least 3 minutes before driving
the vehicle.
■Necessary equipment and accessories
Specialized equipment and accessories are required for dinghy towing. Contact
the service branch of the motor home manufacturer regarding recommended
equipment.

■Stolen Vehicle Location
If your vehicle is stolen, Safety Co nnect can work with local authorities
to assist them in locating and recovering the vehicle. After filing a
police report, call the Safety Conn ect response center at 1-800-25-
LEXUS (1-800-255-3987) and follo w the prompts for Safety Con-
nect to initiate this service.
In addition to assisting law enforcemen t with recovery of a stolen vehi-
cle, Safety-Connect-equipped vehicl e location data may, under cer-
tain circumstances, be shared with third parties to locate your vehicle.

■ Emergency Assistance Button (“SOS”)
In the event of an emergency on the road, push the “SOS” button to
reach the Safety Connect response center. The answering agent will
determine your vehicle’s location, assess the emergency, and dispatch
the necessary assistance required.
If you accidentally press the “SOS” bu tton, tell the response-center agent
that you are not experiencing an emergency.
■ Enhanced Roadside Assistance
Enhanced Roadside Assistance ad ds GPS data to the already
included warranty-based Lexus roadside service.
Subscribers can press the “SOS” button to reach a Safety Connect
response-center agent, who can help with a wide range of needs, such
as: towing, flat tire, fuel delivery, etc. For a description of the Enhanced
Roadside Assistance services and th eir limitations, please see the
Safety Connect Terms and Conditions, which are available at
Lexus.com.

If your vehicle needs to be towed
If towing is necessary, we recommend having your vehicle towed and loaded/
unloaded by your Lexus dealer or a commercial towing service, using a flat-
bed truck.
Use a safety chain system for all towing, and abide by all state/provincial and
local laws.
Before towing
The following may indicate a problem with your transmission. Contact
your Lexus dealer before towing.
● The engine is running but the vehicle will not move.
● The vehicle makes an abnormal sound.
Emergency towing
If a flatbed truck is not available, in
an emergency your vehicle may be
temporarily towed using a cable or
chain secured to the emergency
towing eyelet. This should only be
attempted on hard, surfaced roads
for short distances at low speeds.
A driver must be in the vehicle to
steer and operate the brakes. The
vehicle’s wheels, drive train, axles,
steering and brakes must be in
good condition.
