CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with the
pedals while driving. An unexpectedly high speed may result or it may become diffi-
cult to stop the vehicle. This could lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious
injury.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles,
even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats.
●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
●Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) provided.
●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
●Do not place the floor mat bo ttom-side up or upside-down.
■Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in
the correct place with all the provided
retaining hooks (clips). Be especially care-
ful to perform this check after cleaning the
floor.
●With the hybrid system stopped and the
shift lever in P, fully depress each pedal to
the floor to make sure it does not interfere
with the floor mat.

CAUTION
■High voltage precautions
The vehicle has high voltage DC and AC systems as well as a 12-volt system. DC
and AC high voltage is very dangerous and can cause severe burns and electric
shock that may result in death or serious injury.
●Never touch, disassemble, remove or re place the high voltage parts, cables or
their connectors.
●The hybrid system will become hot after starting as the system uses high voltage.
Be careful of both the high voltage and the high temperature, and always obey
the caution labels attached to the vehicle.
●Never try to open the service plug access
hole located behind the rear seat. The ser-
vice plug is used only when the vehicle is
serviced and is subject to high voltage.5-seat models

The alarm uses light and sound to give an alert when an intrusion is
detected.
The alarm is triggered in the following situations when the alarm is set:
●A locked door or trunk is unlocked or opened in any way other than
using the entry function, wireless remote control or mechanical key.
(The doors will lock again automatically.)
●The hood is opened.
Close the doors, trunk and hood,
and lock all the doors. The system
will be set automatically after 30
seconds.
The indicator light changes from
being on to flashing when the system
is set.
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarms:
●Unlock the doors or open the trunk.
●Turn the power switch to ACCESS ORY or ON mode, or start the
hybrid system. (The alarm will be deactivated or stopped after a few
seconds.)

*1: These lights come on when the power switch is turned to ON mode to indicatethat a system check is being performed. They will go off after the hybrid system is
on, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if the lights do
not come on, or go off. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: The light comes on when the system is turned off. The light flashes faster than
usual to indicate that the system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM ou tside rear view mirror indicators illumi-
nate in the following situations:
• When the power switch is turned to ON mode while the BSM main switch is set to ON.
• When the BSM main switch is set to ON while the power switch is in ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators
will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicato rs do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction with the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS warning light not come on
when you start the hybrid system, this co uld mean that these systems are not avail-
able to help protect you in an accident, wh ich could result in death or serious injury.
Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this occurs.

■Hybrid System Indicator
●Hybrid System Indicator is displayed when the driving mode is other than the sport
mode.
●By keeping the indicator needle within Ec o area, more Eco-friendly driving can be
achieved.
●Charge area indicates regeneration* status. Regenerated energy will be used to
charge the battery.
*: When used in this manual, “regeneration” refers to the conversion of energy cre-
ated by the movement of the vehicle into electrical energy.
■ECO lamp and SPORT lamp
●When all of the following conditions are satisfied and Eco-friendly driving is being
performed, ECO lamp (blue) will illuminate. (ECO lamp will become brighter the
more Eco-friendly your driving is. Also, while the vehicle is stopped or the acceler-
ation exceeds Zone of Eco driving, ECO lamp turns off. ( P. 103) However, when
Eco drive mode is selected, while the vehicle is stopped or the acceleration
exceeds Zone of Eco driving, ECO lamp does not turn off.):
• Driving with the shift lever in D.
• Normal mode, comfort mode or Eco dr ive mode is selected, and EV drive
mode and snow mode is not in use.
• The vehicle speed is approximately 80 mph (130 km/h) or below.
●When sport mode is selected, SPORT lamp (red) will illuminate. Charge area
Shows regenerative charging.
Hybrid Eco area
Shows that gasoline engine power is not
being used very often.
The gasoline engine will automatically stop
and restart under various conditions.
Eco area
Shows that the vehicle is being driven in an
Eco-friendly manner.

■Tachometer
Hybrid System Indicator switches to the tachometer when driving mode is in sport
mode.
■Engine speed
On hybrid vehicles, engine speed is precis ely controlled in order to help improve
fuel efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions etc.
There are times when the engine speed that is displayed may differ even when vehi-
cle operation and driving conditions are the same.
■Outside temperature display
In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed, or
the display may take longer than normal to change.
●When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 km/h])
●When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a
garage, tunnel, etc.)
■Customization
Settings (e.g. on/off operatio n of ECO lamp) can be changed.

NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the engine and its components
●Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the red zone, which indi-
cates the maximum engine speed.
●The engine may be overheating if the engine coolant temperature gauge is in the
red zone (H). In this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, and check
the engine after it has cooled completely. ( P. 5 3 0 )

Press and hold the “DISP” button
after selecting the “EXIT” by
pressing the “DISP” button.
The display goes back to step .
■System check display
After turning the power switch to ON mode, “SYSTEM CHECK” is displayed while
system operation is checked.
■Tire inflation pressure
●It may take a few minutes to display the tire inflation pressure after the power switch
is turned to ON mode. It may also take a few minutes to display the tire inflation
pressure after inflation pr essure has been adjusted.
●“---” may be displayed if the tire position information cannot be determined due to
unfavorable radio wave conditions.
●Tire inflation pressure changes with temperature. The displayed values may also be
different from the values measured using a tire pressure gauge.
■When disconnecting and reconnecting 12-volt battery terminals
The following information data will be reset:
●Driving range
●Average fuel consumption
●Average fuel consumption after refueling
●Distance after refueling
●Elapsed time
●Average vehicle speed
■Liquid crystal display
Small spots or light spots may appear on th e display. This phenomenon is character-
istic of liquid crystal displays, and there is no problem continuing to use the display.
■Customization
Setting of available languages can be changed. (Custo mizable features P. 565)

If the “Energy Monitor” or “Past Record” screen is displayed, select
“Trip Information”.
