If you get a flat tire while driving
A flat or damaged tire may cause the following situations. Hold the steering wheel
firmly and gradually press the brak e pedal to slow down the vehicle.●
It may be difficult to control your vehicle. ●
The vehicle will make abnormal sounds. ●
The vehicle will behave abnormally.
Replace a flat tire with a new one. (  P. 8 5 4 )■
When encountering flooded roads
Do not drive on a road that has flooded after heavy rain etc. Doing so may cause the
following serious damage to the vehicle. ●
Engine stalling ●
Short in electrical components ●
Engine damage caused by water immersion
In the event that you drive on a flooded road and the vehicle is flooded, be sure to
have your Lexus dealer check the following.●
Brake function ●
Changes in quantity and quality of oil an d fluid used for the engine, transmission,
transfer, differentials, etc. ●
Lubricant condition for the propeller shaft, bearings and suspension joints (where
possible) and the function of all joints, bearings, etc.

■ Fluid level
The fluid level should be within the appropriate range.
Full (when cold)
Add fluid (when cold)
Full (when hot)
Add fluid (when hot)
Hot: Vehicle has been driven arou nd 50 mph (80 km/h) for 20 min-
utes, or slightly longer in frigid temperatures. (Fluid tempera-
ture, 140  F - 175  F [60  C - 80  C]).
Cold: Engine has not been run for about five hours. (Room tempera-
ture, 50  F - 85  F [10  C - 30  C]).
■ Checking the fluid level
Make sure to check the fluid type and prepare the necessary items.
Clean all dirt off the reservoir.
Remove the cap by turning it counterclockwise.
Wipe the dipstick clean.
Reinstall and remove the reservoir cap again.

Indicates that the auto-
matic transmission fluid
temperature is too high
A buzzer also sounds. Stop the vehicle in a safe
place, shift the shift lever
to P and wait until the light
goes off.
If the light goes off, you
may start the vehicle
again. If the light does
not go off, contact your
Lexus dealer.
Indicates that the washer
fluid level is low Add washer fluid.
Low tire inflation pres-
sure Check the tire inflation
pressure, and adjust to the
appropriate level.
