Operation of each component WA R N I N G
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may result in death or serious injury. ■
Closing the windows ●
The driver is responsible for all the power window operations, including the operation
for the passengers. In order to prevent acci dental operation, especially by a child, do
not let a child operate the power windows. It is possible for children and other passen-
gers to have body parts caught in the power window. Also, when riding with a child, it
is recommended to use the window lock switch. (  P. 1 6 5 )●
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a posi-
tion where it could be caught when a window is being operated. ●
When using the wireless remote control or mechanical key and operating the power
windows, operate the power window after checking to make sure that there is no pos-
sibility of any passenger having any of their body parts caught in the window. Also, do
not let a child operate window by the wireless remote control or mechanical key. It is
possible for children and other passengers to get caught in the power window. ●
When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine sw itch off, carry the key and exit the vehicle
along with the child. There may be accidental operation, due to mischief, etc., that
may possibly lead to an accident. ■
Jam protection function ●
Never use any part of your body to intentio nally activate the jam protection function.●
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before the
window fully closes. ■
Catch protection function ●
Never use hands, arms, clothing, etc., to intentionally activate the catch protection
function. ●
The catch protection function may not operate if something gets caught just before
the window is fully opened. Be careful not to get hands, arms, clothing, etc., caught in
the window.

Operation of each component ■
The moon roof can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
Operating the moon roof after turning the engine off
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds after the engine switch is
turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however, be operated once either
front door is opened. ■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while the moon roof is clos-
ing or tilting down, travel is stoppe d and the moon roof opens slightly.■
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will open
automatically when the moon roof is opened. ■
Door lock linked moon roof operation ●
The moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key

If the moon roof cannot be closed automatically
Keep the switch depressed. ■
When the moon roof does not close normally
Perform the following procedure: ●
If the moon roof closes but then re-opens slightly
Stop the vehicle.
Press and hold the “CLOSE” switch.

The moon roof will close, re-open an d pause for approximately 10 seconds.

Then
it will close again, tilt up and pause for appr oximately 1 second. Finally, it will tilt down,
open and close.
Check to make sure that the moon roof is completely closed and then release the
switch. 1

moving. ●
Do not sit on top of the moon roof. ■
Closing the moon roof ●
The driver is responsible for moon roof opening and closing operations.

ate the moon roof. It is possible for children and other passengers to have body parts
caught in the moon roof. ●
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their bodies in a posi-
tion where it could be caught when the moon roof is being operated. ●
When using the wireless remote control or mechanical key and operating the moon

With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to D. (  P. 2 1 0 )
Release the parking brake. (  P. 2 1 8 )If the parking brake is in automatic mode, the parking brake is released automatically
when shifting the shift lever to any position other than P. (  P. 2 1 7 )
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently depress the accelerator pedal
to accelerate the vehicle.
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
If necessary, set the parking brake. If the vehicle is to be stopped for an extended period of time, shift the shift lever to P or
N. (  P. 2 1 0 )
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
Shift the shift lever to P. (  P. 2 1 0 )
Set the parking brake. (  P. 2 1 8 )If the parking brake is in automatic mode, the parking brake is set automatically when
shifting the shift lever to P. (  P. 2 1 7 )
Press the engine switch to stop the engine.
Lock the door, making sure that you have the key on your person. If parking on a hill, bloc k the wheels as needed.The following procedures should be observed to ensure safe driving:

Engine (ignition) switch Pull the parking brake switch to check that the parking brake is set. (  P. 2 1 7 )Parking brake indicator will come on.
Check that the shift lever is set in P.
Firmly depress the brake pedal. and a message will be displayed on the multi-information display.
If it is not displayed, the engine cannot be started.
Press the engine switch. The engine will crank until it starts or for
up to 30 seconds, whichever is less.
Continue depressing the brake pedal
until the engine is completely started.
The engine can be started from any
engine switch mode.Performing the following op erations when carrying the electronic key on your
person starts the engine or changes engine switch modes.

Driving If the engine is stopped with the shift le ver in a position other than P, the engine
switch will not be turned off but inst ead be turned to ACCESSORY mode. Per-
form the following procedure to turn the switch off:
Check that the parking brake is set.
Shift the shift lever to P.
Check that “Turn Off Vehicle” is displayed on the multi-information display
and then press the engine switch once.
Check that “Turn Off Vehicle” on the multi-information display is off. ■
Auto power off function
If the vehicle is left in ACCESSORY mode for more than 20 minutes or IGNITION ON
mode (the engine is not running) for more than an hour with the shift lever in P, the engine
switch will automatically turn off. However, this function cannot en tirely prevent battery
discharge. Do not leave the vehicle with the engine switch in ACCESSORY or IGNI-
TION ON mode for long periods of ti me when the engine is not running.■
Operation of the engine switch ●
When operating the engine switch, one short, firm press is enough. If the switch is
pressed improperly, the engine may not start or the engine switch mode may not
change. It is not necessary to press and hold the switch. ●
If attempting to restart the engine immediat ely after turning the engine switch off, the
engine may not start in some cases. After turning the engine off, please wait a few sec-
onds before restarting the engine. ■

If the engine does not start ●
The engine immobilizer system may not have been deactivated. (  P. 76 )
Contact your Lexus dealer. ●
Check that the shift lever is securely set in P. The engine may not start if the shift lever is
displaced out of P.
A message will be displayed on the multi-information display. ■
Steering lock
After turning the engine switch off and opening and closing the doors, the steering wheel
will be locked due to the stee ring lock function. Operating the engine switch again auto-
matically cancels the steering lock.When stopping the engine with the shift lever in a position other than P1

When the steering lock cannot be released
■
Steering lock motor overheating prevention
To prevent the steering lock motor from overheating, the motor may be suspended if the
engine is turned on and off repeatedly in a sh ort period of time. In this case, refrain from
running the engine. After about 10 seconds, the steering lock motor will resume func-
tioning. ■
When “Smart Access System Malfunction See Owner’s Manual” is displayed on the
multi-information display
The system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer,
immediately. ■
If the electronic key battery is depleted

If the smart access system with push-butto n start has been deactivated in a customized
setting
 P. 5 5 0A message will be displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display.
Check that the shift lever is set in P. Press the
engine switch while turning the steering wheel
left and right.
WA R N I N G ■
When starting the engine
Always start the engine while sitting in the driver’s seat. Do not depress the accelerator
pedal while starting the engine under any circumstances.
Doing so may cause an accident resu lting in death or serious injury.■
Caution while driving
If engine failure occurs while the vehicle is moving, do not lock or open the doors until
the vehicle reaches a safe and complete stop. Activation of the steering lock in this cir-
cumstance may lead to an accident, re sulting in death or serious injury.■
Stopping the engine in an emergency ●
If you want to stop the engine in an emergency while driving the vehicle, press and
hold the engine switch for more than 2 seco nds, or press it briefly 3 times or more in
succession. (  P. 5 1 5 )
However, do not touch the engine switch while driving except in an emergency. Turn-
ing the engine off while driving will not cause loss of steering or braking control, but
the power assist to these systems will be lost . This will make it more difficult to steer
and brake, so you should pull over and stop th e vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.●
If the engine switch is operated while the vehicle is running, a warning message will be
shown on the multi-information display and a buzzer sounds.●
When restarting the engine after it was turn ed off while driving, shift the shift lever to
N and press the engine switch.

Interior features ■
Illuminated entry system
The lights automatically turn on/off according to engine switch mode, the presence of the
electronic key, whether the doors are locked/unlocked, and whether the doors are
open/closed. ■
To prevent battery discharge
If the interior lights remain on when the engine switch is turned off, the lights will go off
automatically after 20 minutes: ■
Customization
Settings (e.g. adjust the time elapsed before the interior light s automatically turn off) can

Interior features ■
When covers and accessories are attached to portable devices
Do not charge in situations where cover an d accessories not able to handle Qi are
attached to the portable devi ce. Depending on the type of cover and accessory, it may
not be possible to charge. When charging is not performed even with the portable
device placed on the charge area, remove the cover and accessories. ■
While charging, noise enters the AM radio
Turn off the wireless charger and confirm th at the noise has decreased. If the noise
decreases, continuously pushing the power supply switch of the wireless charger for 2
seconds, the frequency of the charger can be changed and the noise can be reduced.
Also, on that occasion, the operation indicator light will flash orange 2 times. ■
Important points of the wireless charger ●
If the electronic key cannot be detected within the vehicle interior, charging cannot be
done. When the door is opened and closed , charging may be temporarily suspended.●
When charging, the wireless charging device and portable device will get warmer,
however this is not a malfunction.
When a portable device gets warm while charging, charging may stop due to the pro-
tection function on the portable device side . In this case, when the temperature of the
portable device drops significantly, charge again. ■
Operation sounds
When the power supply is turned on, while se arching for the portable device a sound will
be produced, however this is not a malfunction. ■
