When the tire pressure warning light comes on
Inspect the tires to check if a tire is punctured.
If a tire is punctured:  P. 535
If none of the tires are punctured:
Turn the engine switch off then turn it to IGNITION ON mode. Check if the tire pressure
warning light comes on or flashes. 
If the tire pressure warning light comes on
After the temperature of the tires has lowere d sufficiently, check the inflation pressure
of each tire and adjust th em to the specified level.
If the warning light does not turn off even after several minutes have elapsed, check
that the inflation pressure of each tire is at the specified level an d perform initialization.

If the warning light does not turn off even after several minutes have elapsed, have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately. 
If the tire pressure wa rning light flashes for 1 minute then stay on
There may be a malfunction in the tire pressure warnin g system. Have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately. ■
The tire pressure warning light ma y turn on due to natural causes
The tire pressure warning light may turn on du e to natural causes such as natural air leaks
or tire inflation pressure changes caused by temperature. In this case, adjusting the tire
inflation pressure will turn off the warning light (after a few minutes).■
When a tire is replaced with a spare tire
The spare tire is also equipped with the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter. The
tire pressure warning light will tu rn on if the tire inflation pressu re of the spare tire is low. If
a tire goes flat, even though the flat tire is replaced with the spare tire, the tire pressure
warning light does not turn off. Replace the spare tire with the repaired tire and adjust the
proper tire inflation pressure. The tire pressu re warning light will tu rn off after a few min-
utes. ■

When trouble arises ■
If “See Owner’s Manual” is shown ●
If “Smart Access System Ma lfunction” is shown, this may be a malfunction.
Immediately have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. ●
If “Transmission Fluid Temp High” is shown, it indicates that the automatic transmission
fluid temperature is too high.
Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, shift the shift lever to P and wait until the
warning message and light go off. If the warning message and light go off, you may
start the vehicle again. If the warning message and light do not go off, contact your
Lexus dealer. ■
If “Shift to P Before Ex iting Vehicle” is shown
Message is displayed when the driver’s door is opened without turning the engine switch
to off with the shift lever in any position other than P.
Shift the shift lever to P. ■
If “Power Turned Off to Save Battery” is shown
Power was turned off due to the automatic power off function.
Next time when starting the engine, increase the engine speed slig htly and maintain that
level for approximately 5 minu tes to recharge the battery.■
When a message that indicates the need for the shift lever operation is shown
To prevent the shift lever from being operat ed incorrectly or the vehicle from moving
unexpectedly, a message that re quires shifting the shift leve r may be shown on the multi-
information display. In that case, follow the instruction of the message and shift the shift
lever. ■
When “Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is displayed on the multi-
information display
The following systems may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus
dealer. ●
The LED headlight system ●
The automatic headlight leveling system ●
Automatic High Beam ■
If “Forward Camera System Unavailable” or “Forward Camera System Unavailable
Clean Windshield” is displayed (if equipped)
The following systems may be suspended until the problem shown in the message is
resolved. (  P. 266, 523)●
PCS (Pre-Collision System) ●
LDA (Lane Departure Alert) ●
Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range ●
Automatic High Beam ■
If “Engine Oil Level Low” is shown
Indicates that engine oil level is low.
Check the level of engine oil, and add if necessary.
This message may appe ar if the vehicle is stopped on a slope.
Move the vehicle to a level surface and check to see if the message disappears.

Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven distance on the maintenance
schedule

Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 k m) after the message has been reset.
If necessary, perform maintenance.

ment” for the maintenance interval applicable to your vehicle.■
If “Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer” is shown (U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance is required to correspond to the driven distance on the
maintenance schedule

Comes on approximately 5000 miles (8000 km) after the message has been reset.
(The indicator will not work properly unless the message has been reset.)
Perform the necessary maintenance. Please reset the message after the maintenance is

If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil is scheduled to be changed. (The indicator will not work

Check the engine oil, and change if necessary. After changing the engine oil, the mes-
sage should be reset. (  P. 477)■
If “Oil Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be ch anged. (The indicator will not work properly
unless the message has been reset.)
Check and change the engine o il, and oil filter by your Lexus dealer. After changing the
engine oil, the messag e should be reset. (  P. 477)■
If “Visit Your Dealer” is shown
The system or part shown on the multi-info rmation display is malfunctioning. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately. ■

Continued engine operation with low engine oil will damage the engine.

If you have a flat tire ●
Stop the vehicle in a safe pl ace on a hard, flat surface.●
Set the parking brake. ●
Shift the shift lever to “P”. ●
Turn off the 4-Wheel AHC. (  P. 301)●
Stop the engine. ●
Turn on the emergency flashers.Your vehicle is equipped with a spare tire. The flat tire can be replaced with
the spare tire.

If you have a flat tire
Do not continue driving with a flat tire.
Driving even a short distance with a flat ti re can damage the tire and the wheel beyond
repair, which could re sult in an accident.

Using the tire jack
Improper use of the tire jack may lead to death or serious injuries due to the vehicle
suddenly falling off the jack. ●
Do not use the tire jack for any purpose ot her than replacing tires or installing and
removing tire chains. ●
Only use the tire jack that comes with this vehicle for replacing a flat tire.
Do not use it on other vehicles, and do no t use other tire jacks for replacing tires on
this vehicle. ●
Always check that the tire jack is securely set to the jack point.●
Be sure to turn off the 4-Wh eel AHC and stop the engine.●
Do not put any part of your body under the vehicle supported by a jack. ●
Do not start or run the engine while yo ur vehicle is supported by the jack.●
Do not raise the vehicle while someone is in it. ●
When raising the vehicle, do not pu t an object on or under the jack.●
Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to replace the tire. ●
Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle.
Take particular care when lowering the ve hicle to ensure that no one working on or
near the vehicle will be injured. ■
Using the jack handle
Tighten all the jack handle bo lts securely using a Phillips-he ad screwdriver, to prevent
the extension parts from co ming apart unexpectedly.

If the engine will not start One of the following may be the cause of the problem: ●
There may not be sufficient fuel in the vehicle’s tank.
Refuel the vehicle. ●
The engine may be flooded.
Try to restart the engine again follo wing correct starting procedures.
(  P. 211)●
There may be a malfunction in th e engine immobilizer system. (  P. 80)
One of the following may be the cause of the problem: ●
The battery may be discharged. (  P. 552)●
The battery terminal connections may be loose or corroded.
The engine starting system may be malfun ctioning due to an electrical problem
such as an open circuit or a blown fuse. However, an interim measure is available
to start the engine. (  P. 548)If the engine will not start even though correct starting procedures are being
followed (  P. 211), consider each of the following points:
The engine will not start even when the starter motor operates nor-
mally.
The starter motor turns over slowly , the interior lights and headlights
are dim, or the horn does not sound or sounds at a low volume.
The starter motor does not turn over.

One or both of the battery terminals may be disconnected. ●
The battery may be discharged. (  P. 552)●
There may be a malfunction in the steering lock system.Contact your Lexus dealer if the problem cannot be repaired, or if repair procedures
are unknown.
When the engine does not start, the follo wing steps can be used as an interim
measure to start the engine if the engine switch is functioning normally.
Set the parking brake.
Put the shift lever in P.
Set the engine switch to the ACCESSORY mode.
Push and hold the engine switch for about 15 seconds while depressing the
brake pedal firmly.
Even if the engine can be started using the above steps, the system may be mal-
functioning. Have the vehicle in spected by your Lexus dealer.The starter motor does not turn ove r, the interior lights and headlights
do not turn on, or the horn does not sound.

If the electronic key does not operate properly Use the mechanical key (  P. 117) in
order to perform the following opera-
tions (driver’s door only):
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon roof
*(turn and hold)
Unlocks the doors Turning the key rearward unlocks the
driver’s door. Turning the key once again
unlocks the other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof
* (turn and hold)
* : These settings must be cust omized at your Lexus dealer.If communication between the electronic key and vehicle is interrupted
(  P. 140) or the electronic key ca nnot be used because the battery is
depleted, the smart access system with push-button start and wireless
remote control cannot be used. In such cases, the doors can be opened and
the engine can be started by following the procedure below.

Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch. When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the engine switch
will turn to IGNITION ON mode.
When the smart access system with
push-button start is deactivated in cus-
tomization setting, the engine switch will
turn to ACCESSORY mode.
Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on the
multi-information display.
Press the engine switch. In the event that the engine still cannot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.■
Stopping the engine
Shift the shift lever to P and press the engine switch as you normally do when stopping
the engine. ■
Replacing the key battery
As the above procedure is a temporary measure, it is recommended that the electronic
key battery be replaced immediately when the battery is depleted. (  P. 505)■
Changing engine switch modes
Release the brake pedal and press the engine switch in step above. The engine does
not start and modes will be changed e ach time the switch is pressed. (  P. 212)■
Alarm
Using the mechanical key to lock th e doors will not set the alarm system.
If a door is unlocked using the mechanical ke y when the alarm system is set, the alarm
may be triggered. (  P. 82)■
When the electronic key does not work properly ●
Make sure that the smart access system wi th push-button start has not been deacti-
vated in the customization setting. If it is off, turn the function on.

Check if battery-saving mode is set. If it is set, cancel the function. (  P. 140)Starting the engine 1

If the vehicle battery is discharged If you have a set of jumper (or booster) cables and a second vehicle with a 12-volt
battery, you can jump start your Lexus following the steps below.
Confirm that the electronic key is
being carried.
When connecting the jumper (or
booster) cables, depending on the
situation, the alarm may activate and
doors locked. (  P. 84)
Open the hood. Remove the engine compartment cover. (  P. 476)
Connect the jumper cables.
Positive (+) battery terminal on your vehicle
Positive (+) battery termin al on the second vehicle
Negative (-) battery terminal on the second vehicle
Connect the jumper cable to ground on your vehicle as shown in the illus-
tration.The following procedures may be used to start the engine if the vehicle’s bat-
tery is discharged.
