Driving
■If the PCS warning light flashes or illuminates and a warning message is displayed on
the multi-inform ation display
The pre-collision system may be temporarily unavailable or there may be a malfunction
in the system.
●In the following situations, the warning light will turn off, the message will disappear and
the system will become operational when normal operating conditions return:
• When the radar sensor or front camera or th e area around either sensor is hot, such
as in the sun
• When the radar sensor or front camera or the area around either sensor is cold,
such as in an extremely cold environment
• When a front sensor is dirt y or covered with snow, etc.
• When the part of the windshie ld in front of the front camera is fogged up or covered
with condensation or ice (Defogging the windshield: P. 413)
• If the front camera is obstructed, such as when the hood is open or a sticker is attached to the windshield near the front camera
●If the PCS warning light continues to flash or remains illuminated or the warning mes-
sage does not disappear even though the vehicle has returned to normal, the system
may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle in spected by your Lexus dealer immediately.
■If VSC is disabled
●If VSC is disabled (P. 386), the pre-collision brake a ssist and pre-collision braking
functions are also disabled.
●The PCS warning light will turn on and “V SC Turned Off Pre-Collision Brake System
Unavailable” will be displayed on the multi-information display.

LDA indicator turns off, follow the appropriate troubleshooting procedure.
If a different warning message is displayed, follow the instructions displayed on the
screen.

Dirt, rain, condensation, ice, snow, etc. are
present on the windshield in front of the front
camera.
 Turn the LDA system of f, remove any dirt,
rain, condensation, ice, snow, etc. from the
windshield, and then turn the LDA system
back on.
“Forward Camera System
Unavailable”
The operation conditions of the front camera
(temperature, etc.) are not met.
 When the operation conditions of the front
camera (temperature, etc.) are met, the
LDA system will become available. Turn
the LDA system off, wait for a little while,
and then turn the LDA system back on.
“Lane Departure Alert Unavailable”
The LDA system is temporarily canceled due
to a malfunction in a sensor other than the
front camera.
Turn the LDA system off and follow the
appropriate troubleshooting procedures
for the warning message. Afterward, drive
the vehicle for a short time, and then turn
the LDA system back on.

Below Approx 32 mph”The LDA system cannot be used as the vehicle
speed is less than approximately 32 mph
(50 km/h).
 Drive the vehicle at approximately 32 mph
(50 km/h) or more.

When trouble arises
The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the “F” and “L” lines on the res-
ervoir. Reservoir

Radiator cap
Add coolant if necessary.
Water can be used in an emergency if
coolant is unavailable.
Start the engine and turn the air conditioning system on to check that the air
conditioning condenser cooling fans op erate and to check for coolant leaks
from the radiator or hoses.
The fans operate when the air conditioning system is turned on immediately after a
cold start. Confirm that the fans are operating by checking the fan sound and air flow.
If it is difficult to check these, turn the air conditioning system on and off repeatedly.
(The fans may not operate in freezing temperatures.)
If the fans are not operating:
Stop the engine immediately an d contact your Lexus dealer.
If the fans are operating:
Have the vehicle inspected at the nearest Lexus dealer.
