■In the following cases, the tire cannot be repaired with the emergency tire puncture
repair kit. Contact your Lexus dealer.
●When the tire is damaged due to driving without sufficient air pressure
●When the tire lost air pressure due to a crack or damage in the tire sidewall
●When the tire is visibly separated from the wheel
●When the cut or damage to the trea d is 0.16 in. (4 mm) long or more
●When the wheel is damaged
●When 2 or more sharp objects, such as nails or screws, have passed through the tread
on a single tire
●When there is more than one hole or cut in the damaged tire
●When the sealant has expired
■Emergency tire puncture repair kit
●The sealant has a limited lifespan. The expiry date is marked on the bottle. The sealant
should be replaced before the expiry date. Contact your Lexus dealer for replacement.
●The sealant stored in the emergency tire puncture repair kit can be used only once to
temporarily repair a single tire. If the seal ant has been used and needs to be purchased,
contact your Lexus dealer. The compressor is reusable.
●The sealant can be used when the outside temperature is from -40 F (-40 C) to
140 F (60 C).
●The kit is exclusively designed for size and type of tires originally installed on your vehi-
cle. Do not use it for tires that a different size than the original ones, or for any other
purposes.
●If the sealant gets on your clothes, it may stain.
●If the sealant adheres to a wheel or the surface of the vehicle body, the stain may not be
removable if it is not cleaned at once. Immediately wipe away the sealant with a wet
cloth.
●During operation of the kit, a loud operation noise is produced. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
●Do not use the emergency tire puncture repair kit to check or to adjust the tire pres-
sure.

■When fixing the flat tire
●Stop your vehicle in a safe and flat area.
●Do not touch the wheels or the area around the brakes immediately after the vehicle
has been driven.
After the vehicle has been driven, the wheels and the area around the brakes may be
extremely hot. Touching these areas with hands, feet or other body parts may result in
burns.
●Connect the valve and hose securely wi th the tire installed on the vehicle.
●If the hose is not properly connected to the valve, air leakage may occur or sealant
may be sprayed out.
●If the hose comes off the valve while inflating the tire, there is a risk that the hose will
move abruptly due to air pressure.
●After inflation of the tire has completed, the sealant may splatter when the hose is dis-
connected or some air is let out of the tire.
●Follow the operation procedure to repair the tire. If the procedure is not followed, the
sealant may spray out.
●Keep back from the tire while it is being re paired, as there is a chance of it bursting
while the repair operation is being perfor med. If you notice any cracks or deforma-
tion of the tire, turn off the compressor sw itch and stop the repair operation immedi-
ately.
●The kit may overheat if operated for a long period of time. Do not operate the com-
pressor continuously for more than 35 minutes.
●Parts of the kit become hot during operatio n. Be careful handling the kit during and
after operation. Do not touch the metal part around the connecting area between the
bottle and compressor. It will be extremely hot.
●Do not attach the vehicle speed warning sticker to an area other than the one indi-
cated. If the sticker is attached to an area where an SRS airbag is located, such as the
pad of the steering wheel, it may prevent the SRS airbag from operating properly.
■Driving to spread the liquid sealant evenly
●Drive the vehicle carefully at a low speed. Be especially careful when turning and cor-
nering.
●If the vehicle does not drive straight or you feel a pull through the steering wheel, stop
the vehicle and check the following:
• Tire condition. The tire may have separated from the wheel.
• Tire inflation pressure. If tire inflation pressure is 19 psi (130 kPa, 1.3 kgf/cm
2 or
bar) or below, this may indicate severe tire damage.

Once the vehicle’s engine has started, remove the jumper cables in the exact
reverse order from which they were connected.
Once the engine starts, have the vehicle inspected at your Lexus dealer as soon
as possible.
■Starting the engine when the battery is discharged
The engine cannot be started by push-starting.
■To prevent battery discharge
●Turn off the headlights and the audio system while the engine is off.
●Turn off any unnecessary electrical components when the vehicle is running at a low
speed for an extended period, such as in heavy traffic.
■Charging the battery
The electricity stored in the battery will discharge gradually even when the vehicle is not
in use, due to natural discharg e and the draining effects of certain electrical appliances. If
the vehicle is left for a long time, the battery may discharge, and the engine may be
unable to start. (The battery recharges automatically during driving.)
■When recharging or replacing the battery
●Make sure that the key is not inside the vehicle when recharging or replacing the bat-
tery. The key may be locked in the vehicle if the alarm is activated. ( P. 7 9 )
●In some cases, it may not be possible to unlock the doors using the smart access system
with push-button start when the battery is discharged. Use the wireless remote control
or the mechanical key to lock or unlock the doors.
●The engine may not start on the first attempt after the battery has recharged but will
start normally after the second attempt. This is not a malfunction.
●The engine switch mode is memorized by the vehicle. When the battery is recon-
nected, the system will return to the mode it was in before the battery was discharged.
Before disconnecting the battery, turn the engine switch off.
If you are unsure what mode the engine switch was in before the battery discharged, be
especially careful when reconnecting the battery.

■When inspecting under the hood of your vehicle
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in serious injury such as burns.
●If steam is seen coming from under the hood, do not open the hood until the steam
has subsided. The engine compartment may be very hot.
●Keep hands and clothing (especially a tie, a scarf or a muffler) away from the fans and
belts. Failure to do so may cause the hands or clothing to be caught, resulting in seri-
ous injury.
NOTICE
■When adding engine coolant
Add coolant slowly after the engine has cooled down sufficiently. Adding cool coolant
to a hot engine too quickly can cause damage to the engine.
■To prevent damage to the cooling system
Observe the following precautions:
●Avoid contaminating the coolant with foreign matter (such as sand or dust etc.).
●Do not use any coolant additive.
●RC350: While the engine and radiator are
hot, do not loosen or remove the coolant res-
ervoir cap or radiator cap. (The radiator cap
is located under the engine cover.)
High temperature steam or coolant could
spray out.
●RC F: While the engine and radiator are hot,
do not loosen or remove the coolant reser-
voir cap.
High temperature steam or coolant could

■Temperature A, B, C
The temperature grades are A (the highest), B, and C, representing the tire’s
resistance to the generation of heat and its ability to dissipate heat when
tested under controlled conditions on a specified indoor laboratory test
wheel.
Sustained high temperature can cause the material of the tire to degenerate and
reduce tire life, and excessive temperature can lead to sudden tire failure.
Grade C corresponds to a level of perfor mance which all passenger car tires must
meet under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 109.
Grades B and A represent higher levels of performance on the laboratory test
wheel than the minimum required by law.
Warning: The temperature grades of a tire assume that it is properly inflated and
not overloaded.
Excessive speed, underinflation, or excessiv e loading, either separately or in com-
bination, can cause heat buildup and possible tire failure.

conçus selon les normes de sécurité américaines applicables aux véhicules à
moteur (FMVSS208). L'ensemble de capteurs de coussins gonflables (ECU)
régule le déploiement des coussins gonfla bles sur la base des informations qu'il
reçoit des capteurs, etc., indiqués ci-des sus dans le schéma illustrant les compo-
sants du système. Parmi ces informations fi gurent la gravité du choc et l'occupa-
tion du véhicule par les passagers. Le déploiement rapide des coussins
gonflables est obtenu au moyen d'une réaction chimique dans les dispositifs
pyrotechniques, qui produit un gaz inof fensif permettant d'amortir le mouve-
ment des occupants.
AVERTISSEMENT
■Précautions relatives aux coussins gonflables SRS
Respectez les précautions suivantes conc ernant les coussins gonflables SRS.
Le non-respect de ces précautions peut oc casionner des blessures graves, voire mor-
telles.
●Le conducteur et tous les passagers du véhicule doivent porter correctement leur
ceinture de sécurité.
Les coussins gonflables SRS sont des disp ositifs supplémentaires à utiliser avec les
ceintures de sécurité.
●Le coussin gonflable conducteur SRS se déploie avec une force considérable, pou-
vant occasionner des blessures graves, voir e mortelles, si le conducteur se trouve
très près du coussin gonflable. L'autorité fé dérale chargée de la sécurité routière aux
États-Unis (NHTSA) conseille:
La zone à risque du coussin gonflable cond ucteur se situant dans les premiers 2 à 3
in. (50 à 75 mm) de déploiement, vous placer à 10 in. (250 mm) de votre coussin
gonflable conducteur vous garantit une ma rge de sécurité suffisante. Cette distance
est à mesurer entre le centre du volant et le sternum. Si vous êtes assis à moins de 10
in. (250 mm), vous pouvez changer votre position de conduite de plusieurs façons:
• Reculez votre siège le plus possible, de manière à pouvoir encore atteindre con- fortablement les pédales.
• Inclinez légèrement le dossier du siège. Bien que les véhicules aient une conception différente, un grand nombre de con-
ducteurs peuvent s'asseoir à une distance de 10 in. (250 mm), même avec le siège
conducteur complèteme nt avancé, simplement en in clinant un peu le dossier de
siège. Si vous avez des difficultés à voir la route après avoir incliné le dossier de
votre siège, utilisez un coussin ferme et antidérapant pour vous rehausser ou
remontez le siège si votre véhicule est équipé de cette fonction.
• Si votre volant est réglable, inclinez-le vers le bas. Cela a pour effet d'orienter le
coussin gonflable en direction de votre poitrine plutôt que de votre tête et de votre
cou.
Réglez votre siège selon les recommandation s de la NHTSA ci-dessus, tout en con-
servant le contrôle des pédales, du vola nt et la vue des commandes du tableau de
bord.

AVERTISSEMENT
■Précautions relatives aux coussins gonflables SRS
●Ne suspendez aucun cintre ou objet dur aux crochets à vêtements. Tous ces objets
pourraient se transformer en projectiles et causer des blessures graves, voire mortel-
les en cas de déploiement des coussins gonflables rideaux SRS.
●Si un cache en vinyle est placé sur la zone où le coussin gonflable de genoux SRS se
déploie, assurez-vous de le retirer.
●N'utilisez aucun accessoire de siège recouvrant les zones de déploiement des cous-
sins gonflables latéraux SRS, car il risque de gêner le déploiement des coussins gon-
flables. De tels accessoires peuvent empêcher les coussins gonflables latéraux de
fonctionner correctement, désactiver le système ou entraîner le déploiement acci-
dentel des coussins gonflables latéraux , occasionnant des blessures graves, voire
mortelles.
●Évitez de faire subir des choc s ou des pressions excessives aux parties renfermant les
composants de coussins gonflables SRS.
En effet, cela pourrait entraîner un dysf onctionnement des coussins gonflables SRS.
●Ne touchez aucun composant immédiatement après le déploiement (gonflage) des
coussins gonflables SRS, car ils peuvent être chauds.
●Si vous avez des difficultés à respirer après le déploiement des coussins gonflables
SRS, ouvrez une porte ou une vitre pour fair e entrer de l'air frais, ou bien descendez
du véhicule si cela ne présente pas de danger. Essuyez tout résidu dès que possible
afin d'éviter d'éventuelle s irritations de la peau.
●Si les parties renfermant les coussins gonf lables SRS, comme les garnitures du volant
et des montants avant et arrière, sont endommagées ou craquelées, faites-les rem-
placer par votre concessionnaire Lexus.
●Ne placez rien sur le siège du passager avant, comme un coussin par exemple. Cela
a pour conséquence de répartir le poids du passager sur toute la surface du siège, ce
qui empêche le capteur de détecter correctement le poids du passager. En consé-
quence, les coussins gonflables frontaux SR S du passager avant risquent de ne pas se
déployer en cas de collision.
