NOTE
If the battery is disconnected or a fuse is
replaced, the DSC will be inoperable. When
this happens, the TCS OFF indicator light
flashes and the TCS/DSC indicator light
illuminates.
To reactivate the DSC, perform the following
procedure with the battery connected.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Turn the steering clockwise fully, then turn
it counterclockwise fully.
3. Make sure the TCS OFF indicator turns off.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF
position, then turn it to the ON position
again.
5. Make sure the TCS/DSC indicator light
turns off.
If the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TCS
OFF indicator light remain illuminated even
after turning the ignition switch to the ON
position, attempt the procedure again. If this
still does not work, consult an Authorized
Mazda Dealer.
qCruise Main Indicator Light
(Amber)/Cruise Set Indicator
Light (Green)
The indicator light has two colors.
Cruise Main Indicator Light (Amber)
The indicator light illuminates amber
when the ON/OFF switch is pressed and
the cruise control system is activated.
Cruise Set Indicator Light (Green)
The indicator light illuminates green when
a cruising speed has been set.
qLight-On Indicator Light
This indicator light comes on when the
exterior lights and dashboard illumination
are on.
qTurn-Signal/Hazard Warning
Indicator Lights
When operating the turn signal lights, the
left or right turn signal indicator light
flashes to indicate which turn signal light
is operating (page 5-56).
When operating the hazard warning
lights, both turn signal indicator lights
flash (page 5-60).
NOTE
If an indicator light remains illuminated (does
not flash) or if it flashes abnormally, one of the
turn signal bulbs may be burned out.

OFF switch
Pressing the OFF switch shuts off the
climate control system.
Temperature control dial
Hot Cold
This dial controls temperature.Turn it
clockwise for hot and counterclockwise
for cold.
Fan control dial
Fast
Slow
The fan has seven speeds. The selected
speed will be displayed.
Mode selector switch
The desired airflow mode can be selected
(page 6-4).
NOTE
lWith the airflow mode set toposition
and the temperature control dial set at a
medium temperature, heated air is directed
to the feet and a comparably lower air
temperature will flow through the central,
left and right vents.
lTo set the air vent to, press the
windshield defroster switch.
A/C switch
With the AUTO or fan control dial ON,
press the A/C switch to select the air
conditioning (cooling/dehumidifying
functions) on or off.
NOTE
The air conditioner may not function when the
outside temperature approaches 0 °C (32 °F).
(Indicator remains on even when system is off.)

NOTElCenterpoint®operates optimally with a 2-
channel stereo CD. MP3 audio files can be
played, however, MP3 audio files encoded
with high compression may result in poor
sound quality.
lIf you are in a mode in which the
Centerpoint®function is unavailable, such
as AM/FM, and you switch to a mode in
which the function is available, such as CD
mode, while the Centerpoint
®function is
on,“CenterPT ON”is indicated in the
display. Conversely, if you switch to a mode
in which the Centerpoint
®function is
unavailable while Centerpoint®is on or off,
“CenterPT OFF”is indicated in the
display.
lCenterpoint®is available for 2-channel
stereo audio except for AM radio/FM radio/
SIRIUS digital satellite radio.

BEEP setting
The beep-sound when operating the audio
system can be set on or off.
Time adjustment
Rotating the audio control dial switches
the display between 12 and 24-hour clock
time (page 6-86).

Selecting SIRIUS radio mode (Satellite
button)
When the satellite button is pressed, it will
play the last selected SIRIUS channel.
Every time the satellite button is pressed,
the bank is changed over in the order
shown below.

the beep is heard.

Press a channel preset button for about 1.5
seconds.

Press the category button (UP or DOWN)
and select the desired category.

At this time, the lowest (smallest-number)

received.

lTo display the rest of the characters of a
long title, press the text button (TEXT). The
display scrolls the next 8 characters. Press
the text button (TEXT) again after the last 8
characters have been displayed to return to
the beginning of the title.
What is satellite radio?
SIRIUS is radio the way it was meant to
be: More than 100 new channels of digital
quality programming delivered to listeners
coast to coast via satellite. That means
channels of completely commercial-free
music plus more channels of news, sports,
and entertainment from names like
CNBC, Discovery, SCI-FI Channel, A&E,
House of Blues, E!, NPR, Speed vision
and ESPN.

When the SIRIUS mode is switched to
another mode, or when the power is
turned off, the present channel which is
being received is stored as the last
channel.
Channel selection
Turning the manual tuning dial allows you
to select the desired receiving channel.
lTurn the knob clockwise: Channel UplTurn the knob counterclockwise:

Unsubscribed channel
When a selected station has not been
subscribed to, the display indicates the
following:
[CALL + 888] and [539 + SIRI] (Flashes
alternately)
NOTE
When the subscription contract is canceled, all
of the channels including channel 184 appear
as unsubscribed.
Invalid channel
When a selected channel is not
broadcasting, [SR + (bank number) +
INVALID] is displayed for 1 second,
followed by [SR + (bank number) +
CHANNEL], which is also displayed for
1 second. The display then returns to the
previous valid channel.
NOTE
If the last channel selected has become
unavailable because of a channel update the
above indication is displayed until any button
is pressed.
Preset channel programming
(Programming with“channel number”
display)
1. Press the display button to select the
channel number display mode.
Select the desired channel to be
programmed. At this point, the
following is displayed:
[SR + (bank number) + (channel
number)]
2. Keep pressing the channel preset
button for 1.5 seconds or more.
The programming process is complete
after the channel number flashes. Then,
[SR + (bank number)] is displayed and
a beep sound is heard at the same time.
3. [SR + (bank number) + CH + (preset
number) + (channel number)] are
displayed.
(Programming with“text”display (e.g.
channel name))
1. Press the display button to select the
desired text display mode (e.g. channel
name).
Select the desired channel to be
programmed. At this point, the
following is displayed:
[SR + (bank number) + (selected text
(e.g. channel name))]
2. Keep pressing the channel preset
button for 1.5 seconds or more.
The programming process is complete
after the text (e.g. channel name)
flashes. Then, [SR + (bank number)] is
displayed and you will hear beep sound
at the same time.
3. SR + (bank number) + CH + (preset
number) + (channel number)] are
displayed.

When the ignition switch is in the ACC or
ON position, the time is displayed.
Without navigation system
Time setting
1. Press the CLOCK switch 1.5 seconds
or more and the displayed time flashes.
2. Press the H switch to set the hour.
3. Press the M switch to set the minutes,
then press the CLOCK switch.
Switching between 12 and 24-hour
clock time
1. Press the audio control dial several
times until 12Hr and 24Hr clock time
are displayed.
2. Turn the audio control dial in either
direction, select the desired clock
setting, and then press the audio
control dial. Press the dial while the
preferred clock time is flashing.
With navigation system
Refer to the separate manual
“NAVIGATION SYSTEM”.NOTE
Minutes and seconds are adjusted by the GPS,
however, it is necessary to adjust hours under
the following conditions:

qAmbient Temperature Display
(Fully Automatic Type)
When the ignition switch is in the ON
position, press the AMB switch to display
the ambient temperature.
NOTElUnder the following conditions, the ambient
temperature display may differ from the
actual ambient temperature depending on
the surroundings and vehicle conditions:
lSignificantly cold or hot temperatures.lSudden changes in ambient temperature.lThe vehicle is parked.lThe vehicle is driven at low speeds.lPress the AMB switch a few seconds or
more to switch the display from Fahrenheit
to Centigrade or vice versa.
l(With fully automatic climate control

Press the AMB switch again to switch the
display from ambient temperature to the
temperature set for the air conditioner.
