Warning/Indicator Lights and Warning Sounds
*Some models.
Vehicle Speed Alarm *
The vehicle speed alarm function is
designed to alarm the driver via a single
beep sound and a warning indication in the
instrument cluster that the previously set
vehicle speed has been exceeded.
You can change the vehicle speed setting
at which the warning is triggered.
120 km/h Warning Beep *
If the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h, a
chime sounds for 5 seconds.
Outside Temperature Warning
Beep*
Warns the driver of the possibility of icy
roads when the outside temperature is low.
If the outside temperature is lower than
about 4 °C (39 °F) , a beep sound is heard
once and the outside temperature display
À ashes for about ten seconds.
(Type A instrument cluster)

Power Steering Warning Buzzer
If the power steering system has
a malfunction, the power steering
malfunction light turns on or À ashes and
the buzzer operates at the same time.

Ty r e I n À ation Pressure Warning
Beep*
Vehicle with conventional tyres
The warning beep sound will be heard
for about 3 seconds when there is any
abnormality in tyre in À ation pressures.

Vehicle with run- À at tyres
The warning beep sound will be heard
for about 3 seconds if the tyre pressures
decrease.
If the tyre pressure decreases extremely,
a beep sound will be heard for
approximately 30 seconds.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
System Warning Beep *
D r i v i n g f o r w a r d
The warning beep operates when the
direction indicator lever is operated to
the side where the Blind Spot Monitoring
(BSM) warning light is illuminated.
NOTE
A personalised function is available
to change the Blind Spot Monitoring
(BSM) warning beep sound volume.
Refer to Personalisation Features on
page 9-10 .
Reversing
If a moving object such as a vehicle or
two-wheeled vehicle approaches on the
left or right from behind your vehicle, the
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) warning
sound is activated.
Lane Departure Warning Sound *
While the system is operating, if the
system determines that the vehicle may
depart from the lane, it sounds a warning
sound.
NOTE
The volume of the LDWS warning
sound can be changed.

Speed Limiter Warning Beep *
If the vehicle speed exceeds the set speed
by about 3 km/h (2 mph) or more, a
warning beep operates continuously. The
warning beep operates until the vehicle
speed decreases to the set speed or less.
CAUTION
If the set speed is set lower than the
current vehicle speed by pressing the
SET
or RESUME/ switch, the
warning beep is not activated for about
30 seconds even if the vehicle speed is
faster than the newly set speed by
3 km/h (2 mph). Be careful not to drive
over the set speed.
NOTE
When the system is temporarily
cancelled by depressing the accelerator
pedal fully, the adjustable speed limiter
display shows the cancel display. If the
vehicle speed exceeds the set speed by
about 3 km/h (2 mph) or more while the
cancel display is displayed, the set speed
display À ashes but the warning sound is
not operated.

When Boot Lid Cannot be Opened
6. Pull out the cap and open the boot lid.
After performing this emergency
measure, have the vehicle inspected at
an expert repairer, we recommend an
Authorised Mazda Repairer as soon as
possible.
CAUTION
Do not pull the screw when pulling the
cap. Otherwise, the screw may fall off
and become lost.
Retractable fastback model
CAUTION
Do not touch the linkage and gears. If
sharp edges and gears are touched, it
could cause injury.
Roof operates electrically
1. Remove the aerial if it is installed.
Refer to Aerial on page 5-14 .
2. Start the engine.
3. Continue pressing the retractable
fastback switch in the open direction
until the rear roof is completely open.
Refer to Opening the Roof on page
3-51 .
Multi-information
display indication
NOTE
Stop operating the switch before
the front roof opens. If the switch is
continuously pressed, the front roof
opens and the following procedures
cannot be performed.
4. Switch the ignition OFF.
