External equipment (AUX)
“Next group”/“Previous group”
With the “Next group”/“Previous group”
commands, you can select the next or pre-
vious group on the inserted audio DVD.
“Next folder”/“Previous folder”
With the “Next folder”/“Previous folder”
commands, you can select a folder on the
inserted CD/DVD in MP3 mode.
“Memory card”
With the “Memory card” command, you
can switch to the PCMCIA card on the
COMAND system.
“DVD video”
With the “DVD video” command, you can
start a video DVD on the COMAND system.
“Hard disk”
With the “Hard disk” command, you can
change to the internal hard disk (Music
Register) of COMAND.You can use the “Audio Aux” command to
activate the aux input.

In the Command list section, you will find
all the main commands for operating voice
control. The commands available to you
depend on the vehicle’s equipment.
i Some functions have several voice com-
mands to facilitate operation. These are grouped
together between the separator lines in the list
and can be used interchangeably.

Media database that is stored on
->COMAND’s hard drive.

Music recognition software that is
stored on
->COMAND’s hard drive. If
the selected audio CD does not contain
any
->CD text, ->COMAND can
recognise unknown audio tracks in CD
audio mode with the aid of this
software and depict this in corres-
ponding displays.
GSM

lobal System for Mobile
Communications)
International transmission standard for
mobile phones. This permits you to
make phone calls with your mobile
phone even when abroad. The trans-
mission method is digital.ID3 tag
Additional information which may be

Standard for recording data on CDs.

are not subject to losses.

Small portable computer featuring

Personal identification number, to be
entered to activate the telephone.
Provider
Service provider offering access to a

Digital data transmission system for

Region code
Because of the region code, video
DVDs can only be played on DVD
equipment with the same code as that
of the ->DVD. The factory setting of the
COMAND is code 2 (

page 75). It can
only play video DVDs which also have
code 2 or code 0 (no region code).
Root directory
The uppermost directory on a data sto-
rage medium.
Scan rate (->MP3)
Indicates the frequency at which volta-
ge samples are taken during the con-
version of an analogue signal into a
digital signal. The analogue-to-digital
converter converts the samples into di-

Standard for recording data, e.g. for
DVDs.
vCard
An address book entry may contain up
to 8 telephone numbers that are placed
in a vCard (business card). When an
entry of this kind is stored in the mobile
phone’s telephone book, a separate
entry in the vCard is created there for
every telephone number.
Voice Control
A system which can be used to operate
the ->COMAND or the telephone using
speech.
