If you plant o operate your vehicle in foreign
countries, please be aware that:
R service facilities or replacement parts may
not be readily available.
R unleaded fuel for vehicles with a catalytic
converter may not be available. Leaded fuel
may cause damage to the catalytic
converter.
R the fuel may have a considerably lower
octane rating. Unsuitable fuel can cause
engine damage.

If you do not have the prescribed service/
maintenance work or any required repairs
carried out, this can result in malfunctions or
system failures. There is a risk of an accident.
Always have the prescribed service/
maintenance work as well as any required
repairs carried out at a qualified specialist
workshop. G
WARNING
If you switch off the ignition while driving,
safety-relevant functions are only available
with limitations, or not at all. This could affect,
for example, the power steering and the brake
boosting effect .You will require considerably
more effort to steer and brake. There is a risk
of an accident.
Do not switch off the ignition while driving. G

Modifications to electronic components, their
software as well as wiring can impair their
function and/or the function of other
networked components. In particular,
systems relevant to safety could also be
affected. As a result, these may no longer
function as intended and/or jeopardize the
operating safety of the vehicle. There is an
increased risk of an accident and injury.
Never tamper with the wiring as well as
electronic components or their software. You
should have all work to electrical and
electronic equipment carried out at a qualified
specialist workshop.
! There is a risk of damage to the vehicle if:
R the vehicle becomes stuck,e .g. on a high
curb or an unpaved road
R you drive too fas tover an obstacle, e.g.
a curb or a hole in the road
R a heavy object strikes the undercarriage

Gasoline
Fuel grade
!
Do not use diesel to refuel vehicles with a
gasoline engine. Do not switch on the
ignition if you accidentally refuel with the
wrong fuel.O therwise, the fuel will enter
the fuel system. Even small amounts of the
wrong fuel could resul tindamage to the
fuel system and the engine. Notify a
qualified specialist workshop and have the
fuel tan kand fuel lines drained completely.
! Only refuel using unleaded gasoline with
a minimum octane rating of 91.
! Only use the fuel recommended.
Operating the vehicle with othe rfuels can
lead to engine failure.
! Do no tuse the following:
R E85 (gasoline with 85% ethanol)
R E100 (100% ethanol)
R M15 (gasoline with 15% methanol)
R M30 (gasoline with 30% methanol)
R M85 (gasoline with 85% methanol)
R M100 (100% methanol)
R Gasoline with metalliferous additives
R Diesel
Do not mix such fuels with the fuel
recommended for your vehicle. Do not use
additives. This can otherwise lead to engine
damage.T his does not include cleaning
additives for the removal and prevention of
residue build-up. gasoline may only be
mixed with cleaning additives
recommended by Mercedes-Benz; see
"Additives". You can obtain further
information from any authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center.
! To ensure the longevity and full
performance of the engine, only premium-
grade unleaded gasoline must be used. If standard premium-grade unleaded
gasoline is unavailable and unleaded
gasoline of a lower grade is used for
refueling, observe the following
precautions:
R
only fill the fuel tank to half full with
regular unleaded gasoline and fill the rest
with premium-grade unleaded gasoline
as soon as possible.
R do not drive at the maximum speed.
R avoid sudden acceleration and engine
speeds above 3000 rpm.
R never refuel using fuel with an octane
number lower than 87. Otherwise,
engine failure could occur.
Using mixtures of methanol and ethanol is not
permitted. E10 fuel or E15 fuel (unleaded
gasoline with 10% or 15% ethanol) can be
used.
You will usually find information about the fuel
grade on the pump. If you cannot find the
label on the pump, ask the staff for
assistance.

AMG vehicles
Additives
! Operating the engine with fuel additives
added later can lead to engine failure. Do
not mix fuel additives with fuel. This does
not include additives for the removal and
prevention of residue buildup. gasoline
must only be mixed with additives
recommended by Mercedes-Benz. Comply
with the instructions for use on the product
