Rpress the Fbutton on the SmartKey, or
Rpull or press the remote operating switch
on the driver's door or
Rpress the closing or locking button on the
trunk lid

Opening and closing
XTo open: pull remote operating switch :for
the trunk li duntilthe trunk li dopens.
XTo close: press and hol dremote operating
switch :for the trunk li duntilthe trunk li dis
completel yclosed.
When the vehicl eisstationary, yo ucan close the
trunk li dfromt he driver's seat. When the vehicle
is also unlocked, yo ucan also open the trunk lid
fromi nside.
Lockin gthe trunk separately
Youc an lock the trunk separately. If yo uthen
unlock the vehicl ecentrally ,the trunk remains
locked and cannot be opened.
Activating the functio ntolockt he trunk sepa-
rately:
XClose the trunk lid.
XOpen the glove box.
XPush the switch to position :.
If the vehicl eisunlocke dcentrally ,the trunk
remains locked.

The side windows ar eequippe dwithana uto-
matic reversing feature. If asolid object blocks
or restricts asidew indo wf romt raveling
upwards durin gthe automatic closing process,
the side windo wopens agai nautomatically. Dur-
ing the manua lclosing process, the side window
onl yopens agai nautomaticall yafter the corre-
sponding switch is released. The automatic
reversing featur eisonlyana idand is no substi-
tute for your attentio nwhenc losing asidew in-
dow.

The perfume atomizer helps to improve driving
comfort.
Via the multimedia system you can:
Rswitch the perfume atomizer on or off
(Ypage 263)
Rregulate the perfume intensity (Ypage 263).
The following conditions can affect your percep-
tion of the perfume intensity:
Roperating mode of the climate control system
Rinterior temperature
Rtime of year or day
Rair humidity
Rphysiological condition of occupants, e.g. fati-
gue or hunger
The perfume atomizer can only be operated
when the climate control system is switched on
and is only active when the glove box is closed.
The perfume atomizer is provided with apre-fil-
led vial. You can also choose from avariety of
filled perfume vials and an empty vial which you
can fill yourself.
If you refill an empty perfume vial, observe the
separate information sheet attached to the vial.
!If you do not use genuine Mercedes-Benz
interior perfumes, observe the manufactur-
ers' safety notices on the perfume packaging.
Do not refill the pre-filled perfume vial when it is
empty. Dispose of the used vial after use.
XTo insert the perfumev ial:open the glove
box (Ypage 269).
XSlide the perfume vial into the holder as far as
it will go.
XTo remove the perfumev ial:pull out the
perfume vial.
XTo refill the perfumev ial:unscrew the lid of
the empty perfume vial to refill it yourself.
XRefill the vial with amaximum of 0.5 fl. oz.
(15 ml) of the desired liquidp erfume.
XScrew the lid back on to the vial.
!Only refill the vial when you are outside the
vehicle. Otherwise, liquidp erfume could drip
into the interior and contaminate it.
Always refill the empty refillablev ial with the
same perfume. Otherwise, you might not ach-
ieve optimum results from the perfume atom-
izer.

®,for example,
can be stored in the glove box. For vehicles with
ap erfume atomizer (
Ypage 126) the storage
space of the glove box is restricted.
The glove box can only be locked and unlocked
using the mechanical key (Ypage 76).
XTo lock: insert the mechanical key into the
lock and turn it 90° clockwise to position 2.
XTo unlock:insert the mechanical key into the
lock and turn it 90° counter-clockwise to
position 1.
Eyeglasses compartment
XTo open: press marking :.
The eyeglasses compartmento pens down.
Make sure that the eyeglasses compartmenti s
always closed while the vehicle is in motion.
Stowage compartment in the front center
console
XBriefly press trim ;in the direction of the
arrow.
Cover :swings upwards.
Stowage compartment under the armrest
XTo open: press button :at the front.
The stowage space opens.
