The selected setting forth e acoustic locking
ve rification signal must comply wi th there le‐
va nt national road and traf fic re gulations. In
some countri es, including German y,using
th e acoustic locking verification signal is for‐
bidden bytraf fic la ws(in accordance with
§16 Para. 1 and §30 Para. 1 of the German
national road traf fic re gulations). The driver
of theve hicle must comply with these regu‐
lations. In countri es wherethe use of this
function is forbidden, this function is not
activated in theve hicle and must not be acti‐

Toswitch between settings: pressthe

appr oximately six seconds until the indicator
lamp flashes twice.
Options if the unlocking function forth e driver's
door and fuel filler flap has been selec ted:

Ü button twice.
R Vehicles with KEYLESS-GO: ifyo uto uch
th e inner sur face of the door handle on the
driver's door, only the driver's door and fuel
fi ller flap are unlo cked. Deactivating
the function of thekey Ve
hicles with KEYLESS-GO: ifyo u deactivate
th e function of theke y,the KEYLESS-GO func‐
tions are also deactivated. Access or drive
au thorization byKEYLESS-GO is then no longer possible with
that particular key.Activate the
function of theke y so that all its functions will
again be available.
Yo u can also deactivate the function of thekey
to reduce the energy consum ption of theke y if
yo u do not use theve hicle or a keyfo r an exten‐
ded pe riod of time. #
Todeactivate: presstheß button on the
ke y twice in quick succession.
The key indicator lamp flashes twice brief ly
and lights up once. #
Toactivate: press any button on thekey.

connect, the additional door lock is not activa‐
te d.

Ifyo u wish tolock theve hicle entirely using
th e emer gency key,firs t press the button for
locking from the inside while the driver's
door is open. Then proceed tolock the driv‐
er's door using the emer gency key. #

Pull and hold the door handle. #
Pull the co ver on the emer gency key as

s on closing the boot lid: your vehicle is
equipped with automatic keyre cognition. If a key
belonging totheve hicle is de tected in theve hi‐
cle, the boot lid will not be loc ked and will pop
open again.
No tethat the boot lid will not be loc ked if thefo l‐
lowing situation occurs:
R You ha veloc kedth eve hicle and close the
boot lid while a key belonging totheve hicle
is inside theve hicle.
and
R A second key belonging totheve hicle is not
de tected outside theve hicle.
Au tomatic keyre cognition is only an aid and is
not a substitu teforyo ur attentiveness. #
Before locking, ensure that at least one key
belonging totheve hicle is outside theve hi‐
cle. #
Toclose the boot lid: pullthe boot lid down‐
wa rds using the handle recess and push it

Pull the boot lid down wards using the handle
re cess and push it closed. #
Ifth e boot lid is stopped in an intermediate
position, push it down wards.
The boot lid will continue toclose. #

If a key is de tected outside theve hicle, the
boot lid will close and theve hicle will be

hold thep button on thekey. Thekey
must be in the vicinity of theve hicle.
Ve hicles with HANDS-FREE ACCESS #
With th e boot lid comple tely open, make a
kicking mo vement with your foot below the
bumper (/ page 82).
Boot lid automatic reve rsing function
The boot lid is equipped with automatic bloc kage
de tection wi thare ve rsing function. If an obs ta‐
cle obstructs the boot lid during the automatic
closing process, it will automatically open again.
The automatic reve rsing function is only an aid
and is not a substitute foryo ur attentiveness. #
During the closing process, make sure that
no body parts are in the closing area. &
WARNING Risk of becoming trapped
despi tereve rsing function
The reve rsing function will not react:
R tosoft, light and thin objects, e.g. fingers
R towa rdsth e end of the closing procedure In
these situations in particular, there ve rsing
function cannot pr event someone being trap‐
ped. #

closing area.
If someone is trapped:
R press thep button on theke y,or
R press or pull there mo teoperating switch
on the driver's door, or
R press the closing or locking button on the
