Restoring the factory settings
XPress theòbutton on the steering wheel
to open the menu list.
XPress the :or9 button on the steering
wheel to select the Settingsmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XUse : or9 to select the FactorySettingssubmenu.

If you have selected Yes, the multifunction
display shows a confirmation message.
For safety reasons, the Daytime Running
Lightsfunction in theLightssubmenu is only
reset when the vehicle is stationary.

to open the menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel to
select the AMGmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
Engine and transmission oil tempera-
tures: when the engine and transmission are
at normal operating temperature, oil temper- atures
?and Aare displayed in white in the
multifunction display.
If the multifunction display shows oil temper-
ature ?orA in blue, the engine or the
transmission are not yet at normal operating
temperature. Avoid driving at full engine out-
put during this time.
G-Meter
The G-Meter shows you the forces working on
the driver in longitudinal and lateral direction
while driving.
Maximum values are marked red in the guideline
system.
XPress òon the steering wheel to open the
menu list.
XPress the :or9 button on the steering
wheel to select the AMGmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress the 9button repeatedly until the G-
Meter appears.
The G-Meter's maximum values are stored.
XTo reset the G-Meter: pressaagain.
XUsing :or9, select Yeson the steer-
ing wheel.
XPress ato confirm.
The G-Meter's maximum values are deleted.
If the ignition remains switched off for longer
than four hours, the G-Meter will be automati-
cally reset.

while the engine is running.
PLUG-IN HYBRID vehicles: the red brake system warning lamp is shown in the
READY driving status.
A warning tone also sounds.
There is not enough brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.
GWARNING
The braking effect may be impaired.
There is a risk of an accident.
XPull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying attention to road
and traffic conditions. Do not continue driving under any circumstances.
XSecure the vehicle against rolling away (Ypage 177).
XDo not add brake fluid. Adding more will not correct the malfunction.
XConsult a qualified specialist workshop.
XObserve the additional display messages in the multifunction display.
$N USA only: the red brake system warning lamp is lit while the engine is running.
The multifunction display also shows a display message with the #symbol.
The brake pads/linings have reached their wear limit.
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop.
!N The yellow ABS warning lamp is lit while the engine is running.
PLUG-IN HYBRID vehicles: the yellow ABS warning lamp is shown in the READY
driving status.
ABS (anti-lock braking system) is malfunctioning.
If there is an additional warning tone, the EBD (electronic brake force distribution)
is malfunctioning.
Other driving systems and driving safety systems may also be faulty.
GWARNING
The brake system continues to function normally, but without the functions listed
above. The front and rear wheels could therefore lock if you brake hard, for exam-
ple.
The steerability and braking characteristics may be severely affected. The braking
distance in an emergency braking situation can increase.
If ESP
®is not operational, ESP®is unable to stabilize the vehicle.
There is an increased risk of skidding and an accident.
XObserve the additional display messages in the multifunction display.
XDrive on carefully.
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop immediately.
If the ABS control unit is faulty, there is also a possibility that other systems, such
as the navigation system or the automatic transmission, will not be available.

Important safety notes
GWARNING
Service products may be poisonous and haz-
ardous to health. There is a risk of injury.
Comply with instructions on the use, storage
and disposal of service products on the labels
of the respective original containers. Always
store service products sealed in their original
containers. Always keep service products out
of the reach of children.
HEnvironmental note
Dispose of service products in an environ-
mentally responsible manner.
Service products include the following:

RLubricants (e.g. engine oil, transmission oil)

RBrake fluid
RWindshield washer fluid
RClimate control system refrigerant
Components and service products must be
matched. Only use products recommended by
Mercedes-Benz. Damage which is caused by the
use of products which have not been recom-
mended is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz
warranty or goodwill gestures. They are listed in
this Mercedes-Benz Operator's Manual in the
appropriate section.
Information on tested and approved products
can be obtained at an authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center or on the Internet at
http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com.
You can recognize service products approved by
Mercedes-Benz by the following inscription on
the containers:
RMB-Freigabe (e.g. MB-Freigabe 229.51)
RMB-Approval (e.g. MB-Approval 229.51)
Other designations or recommendations indi-
cate a level of quality or a specification in
accordance with an MB Sheet Number (e.g. MB 229.5). They have not necessarily been
approved by Mercedes-Benz.
