35 Getting started
Adjusting
Seat height
Press the switch up or down in the di-
rection of arrow2.
Seat cushion tilt
Press the switch up or down in the di-
rection of arrow3 until your upper legs
are lightly supported.Backrest tilt
Press the switch forward or back in di-
rection of arrow5 until your arms are
slightly angled when holding the steer-
ing wheel.
Head restraint height
Press the switch up or down in the di-
rection of arrow1.Head restraint tilt
Manually adjust the angle of the head
restraint. Push or pull on the lower
edge of the head restraint cushion.

“Controls in detail” section (
page 91).
Rear seat head restraints
Warning!
G
For your protection, drive only with properly
positioned head restraints.
Adjust head restraint to support the back of
the head approximately at ear level.
Do not drive the vehicle without the seat
head restraints. Head restraints are intend-
ed to help reduce injuries during an acci-
dent.
Warning!

For safety reasons, always drive with the
rear head restraints in the upright position
when the rear seats are occupied.
Keep the area around head restraints clear
of articles (e.g. clothing) to not obstruct the
folding operation of the head restraints.

This vehicle is equipped with two “LATCH”
(Lower A
nchors and T
ethers for CH
ildren)
type anchors (at each of the outer rear
seats) for the installation of a “LATCH”
child seat with the matching mounting fit-
tings.
The anchors are located between the seat
cushion and the backrest.
Grip inner side of anchors1 and fold
forward until they lock in place.
Install child seat according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.With a child seat installed in the left rear
seat, the seat belt for the center seat occu-
pied by a passenger must operate freely.
Guide seat belt between its seat cushion
anchor and backrest anchor along outside
of right side child seat anchor.
To fold anchors back
Press down button2 on each anchor
and return anchor to its catch.iThe child seat must be firmly attached
in the right and left side anchors1.iNon-“LATCH” type child seats may also
be used and can be installed using the
vehicle’s seat belt system. Install child
seat according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.

Children too big for child restraint systems
must ride in back seats using regular seat
belts. Position shoulder belt across chest
and shoulder, not face or neck. A booster
seat may be necessary to achieve proper
belt positioning for children from 41 lbs. un-
til they reach a height where a lap/shoulder
belt fits properly without a booster.
Before installing the child seat, make sure
anchors1 are folded out and locked in
place.
Install child seat according to manufactur-
er’s instructions.

tion.
Push button1 and pull out head re-
straint.
Installing rear head restraints
Insert head restraint and push it down
until it engages.
Push button1 and adjust head re-
straint to desired position.
Warning!

Loading
Storage compartment under cargo compartment floor
To open cargo compartment floor
Press handle1 on the recess.
Lift compartment cover.To close cargo compartment floor
Lower the cover and lock by applying
light pressure to the handle1.
Retractable luggage cover and
partition net
The twin-reel roller blind comprises a lug-
gage cover and a partition net. It is mount-
ed on the backrest of the rear seat and can
also be used with backrest folded down.Partition net

Pull out upper blind (safety net) by

Engage it into eyelets on the roof2.
iThe compartment can be used to store
small, light or flat objects.

If items are stored in the compartment,
make sure compartment is securely closed.
In an accident, during hard braking or sud-
den maneuvers, they could be thrown
around inside the vehicle, and cause injury
to vehicle occupants.

To help avoid personal injury during a colli-
sion or sudden maneuver, always use parti-
tion net when transporting cargo.
