Risk of inju ry If the child restraint system has not
been fit-
ted correctly to a suitable vehicle seat, the
child cannot be restrained in the eve ntof an
ac cident or sudden bra king and could there-
fore be seriously or fatally injured.
For this reason, observe the installation
instructions issued by the child restraint
syst emmanufactu rer when fitting the child
restraint system.
Make sure that:
! thesecu ring rings are lo cked in position
be fore the seat is fitted
! the child seat is locked into place in the
securing rin gson the left and rig htonce
it has been installed
For this reason, donotplace objects (e.g. a
cushion) underneath the child restraint sys-
tem. The entire base of the child restraint
system must be in contact with the seat sur-
fa ce at all times.
On the rear seats, on ly use child restraint
systems with an ISOFIX child seat securing
system* that have been re commended by
Mercedes-Benz. G
Risk of inju ry If the child restraint
system or its securing
system, e.g. ISOFIX child seat sec uring sys-
tem, has been damaged or subjected to a
load inan accid ent, th echild secured in it
could be seriously or fatally injured in the
event of an ac cident, br aking or a sudden
change in direction.
For this reason, have child restraint systems
and th eir mountings that are damaged or
have been subjected to a load in an acci dent
checked immediately, and replaced if nec-
essary, at a qualified specialist workshop
which has the necessary specialist knowl-
edge and tools to carry out th ework
required. Mercedes-Benz recom mends that
you use a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for
this purpose. In particular, work relevant to
safety or on safety-related systems must be
carried out at a qualified specialist work-

You can open and close the side windows
electrically.

Risk of inju ry Make sure that nobody can become trapped
between the side window and the door frame
as you open the side windows. Do not touch
or lean against the side window during the
opening procedure, ot
herwise you could be
caught between the side window and the door

side window. If there is a risk of entrapment,
release or press the switch to close the win-
dow. G
Risk of injury Make sure that nobody can become tr
apped
as you close a side window .If there is a risk of
entrapment, releas ethe switch to reopen the
side window. G
Risk of injury Your vehicle can be started using a valid
KEY
LESS GO key. For this reason, children
should never beleft unsupervised in the
vehicle. Always take the KEYLESS GO key
with you, even if you are only leaving the
ve hicle for a short time.
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle even if they are secured in a child
restraint syst em. The childre ncould:
! injure them selves on parts of the vehicle
! be serious lyor ev enfatally harmed by
prolonged exp osure to heat
! pres sthe central loc king switch,thereby
releasing the child-proof locks, and then
open the doors.
If the children open a door:
! they could cause injury to others
! they could get out of th evehicle, injuring
thems elves as they do so or they could
be injured by passing vehicles Ac
tivate the child-proof locks in the rear and
disable rear operation of the windows

door or window while the vehicle is in

op enin g it. Otherwise, water could enter into the
boot.
Do not place any objects on the softtopco m-
partment cover and do not put any weight on it,

Roofracks recommended for Mercede s-
Benz are specially developed and tested. These
ro of racks conform to DIN standard 75302 and
ar ealso subjected to crash tests and durability
tests. !
Mercede s-Benz recommends that youo nly
use roof rack syst ems which have been tested
and appr oved for Mercede s-Benz. This helps to
avoid damage to the vehicle.
Stow the load on the roof rac kin such a way that
yo ur vehicle is not damaged during the journey.
Make sure that:
! you can raise the sliding /tilting * sunroof
fully
! you can open the boot lid fully

Loadingi
Observe the following notes onloading the
vehic le and transporting a load in the vehicle:
! Taking passe ngers in the vehicle as well as
th e vehicle's load into account, do not
exce ed the vehicle' s max imum perm issibl e
gross vehicle weight or axle loads.
! Slide a heavy load as far towards the front of
th e vehicle as pos sibleand stow it as far
down in the boot as possible.
! The lo adshould not be higher than theto p of
th e bac krests.
! Always lea nthe load against the front or rear
backrests ifthe load is tobe carried in the
vehicle interi or.
! When possible, always tr ansport the load
be hind seats which are not occupied.
! Secure the load with sufficiently strong and
wear-resistant lashing material. Pad sharp
ed ges for protection.
Lashing material can be ob tained ata qualified
sp ecialist wor kshop, e.g. at a Merce des-Be nz
Service Centre. In the boot there are four lashing eyelets.

Secure the load to the lashing eyelets.
Please note: ! Do not use elastic straps or nets to
secure a load, as these are only
intended as an anti-slip protection for
light load s.
! If you use securing straps, only use a
strap with a:
! permissible tens ile force
Fperm. = 600daN
! relative elongation of about 7% !
Do not route lashing material over
sharp corners or rough surfaces.
! Pad sharp edges for protection.
! Spread the load evenly between the
lashing points.
! Use all the lashing eyelets if possible.
! Do not overload the lashing eyelets
when using tensioners.
! Read and observe the instructions
