tain convenience features in the

submenu.
You can make the following settings:
Activating the easy-entry feature*
You may activate or dea ctivat ethe easy-
entry feature using this function. Depend-
ing on your setting, the steering wheel
moves up and the dri ver's seat moves back
to help you to get out of the vehi cle when
you: !
remove the key from the ignition lock
! open the driv er's door and the key is in
position 0or 1in the ignition lock
On ce you have got into the vehicle, the
steering wheel and the seat return to the
last position set (
= page 97) when you: !
close the driver's door and
! insert the key into th eignition lock

Mirror adjustment parking aidfunc-
tion allows you to determine whether the
exterior mirror on the front-passenger side
sho uld tilt downwards when parking with
reverse gear engaged ( =page 150).

You can determine whether the exterior
mirrors should be folded in when you lock
the vehicle by using the

You will find information about mist edup
windscreens (= pages 159 and 169) and
demisting ( =pa ges 159 and 169) in the
"Thermatic" and "Thermotronic" sections.
The switch is located on the left next to the
steering wheel.
1 Headlamp cleaning 6
Make sure that the ignition isswitched
on.
6 Briefly press switch 1.
The headlamps are cleaned with a high-
pressur ewater jet. Rear-view mirror,

The rear-view mirror goes into anti-daz-

The driver's side exterior mirror and the
rear-view mirror adjust automatically if:

sor in the rea r-view mirror

sensor in the rear-view mirror, for instance,
if the rear window blind is extended, the mir-
ror's automatic anti-dazzle function will not
operate.
You could be dazzled byincident light. As a
result, you may nolon ger be able to observe
road and tra ffic condition sand cau sean
accid ent.In this case , flick theanti-dazzle
lever over by hand so that the rear-view mir-
ror goes into anti-dazzle mode ( =
page 148).
Do not permanently dea ctivate the anti-daz-
zle function. G

El ectrolyte is a strong irritant and must not
be allowed to come into contact with your

To make parking easier, the exterior mirror
on the front-passenger side moves into the
parking position as soon as you engage
reverse gear.
This makes it possible for you
to observe the kerb on the front-passenger
side.
You can only make use of this parking aid
if the parking position for the exterior mir-
ror on the front-passenger side has been
stored using the memory function*
( = pag e98). The buttons are located on the dashboard
between the steering wheel and the
driver's door.

Features
The remote control integrated in the rear-
vi ew mirror allows you to operate up to
three different door and gate systems.
You can program the transmitter buttons.
i The garage door opener is only available for
certain countries. Observe the legal require-
ment sinall cou ntrie sc oncerned.
Some garage door ope ning systems cannot be
operated using the remote control. You may
ob tain more detailed information from a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. Remote contro

6 Switch on the ignition.

Indicator lamp 1starts to fl ash after a
short while. It flashes about once a sec-
ond.
i Indicat or lamp1 flashes the first time the
transmitter button is programmed. If this trans-
mitt er bu tton has already been programmed,
indi cator lamp 1only starts flashing onceevery
sec ond after 20 seconds.
6 Continue to keep the transmitter but-
ton pressed.
6 Point the portable garage door remote
control and transmitt erat the left-hand
side of the rear-view mirror, from a dis-

on the garage door remote control

If indicator lamp 1goes out after
approximately 20 seconds and did not
begin to flash rapidly:
6 Release the transmitter buttons on

6 Repeat the programming procedure
and alter the distance between the
po rtable garage doo rre mote con-
trol and the rear-view mirror.
6 Release the transm itter buttons on the
int egrated and portable remote con-
trols. i
If the garage door syst emworks with a roll-
ing code , youmust synchronise the remote con-
trol in the rear-view mirror with the garage door
syste m'sreceiver after you have programm ed
th ei ntegrated remote control.
You will find further information inthe operati ng
instructions for the garage door opening system,
e.g. the sections on "Sy nchronising the transmit-
ter" or "Regis tering a new transmitter". Opening
/closing the garage door
Once programmed, the integrated remote
control assumes the function of the garage
do or syste m's remote control. Please read
the Operating Instructions for the garage
doo rsystem.
6 Switch on the ignition.
6 Press the transmitter button in the
rear-view mirro rwhich you have pro-
grammed to operate this garage door.
Garage door system with a fixed code:
Indicator lamp 1lights up continu-
ously. Garage door system with a rolling code:
Indicator lamp
1flashes briefly and
then lights up for approximately two
seconds. This is repeated for up to
20 seconds.
i The transm itter transmits a signal for as long
as thetran sm itter button is pres sed.After ama x-
imum of 20 seconds the transmission is stopped
