minutes.

Risk of injury
Make sur ethat nobody can becom etrapped
when closing th esliding sunroof. If there is a
risk of entrapment, release the switch and
push it briefly in any direction to stop the slid-
ing sunroof. G
Risk of injury
Children could injur ethemselves if they oper-
ate the slidin gsunroof.
Never leave children unsupervised in the vehi-
cle. Always take the key with you when leaving
the vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for
as hort time. G

The glass in the panoram asunroof could
break in an accident. If you are not wearing a

slidin gsunroof. Otherwise, the seals could
be damaged.
i Resonance noise scan occur in addition
to the usua lairflow noises when the sliding
sunroof is open. They are caused by minor
pressure fluctuations in the vehicle interior.
Change the position of the sliding sunroof
or open aside window slightly to reduce or

roof closes automatically:

R at extreme outside temperatures
R after six hours

The panorama sliding sunroof remains raised
at the rear in order to allow ventilation of the
vehicle interior.
i If the panorama sliding sunroof is obstruc-
ted when being closed by the rain closing
feature, it opens again slightly. The rain
closing feature is then deactivated.
The panorama sliding sunroof does not close
if:
R it is raised at the rear.
R it is blocked.
R no rain is falling on the area of the wind-
screen being monitored by the rain sensor
(e.g. because the vehicle is under abridge

General notes The roller sunblind provides protection from

X Keep the 3switch pulled for an addi-
tional second.
X Pull the 3switch repeatedly to the point
of resistance in the direction of arrow ;
until the roller sunblind is fully closed. X
Keep the 3switch pulled for an addi-
tional second.
X Make sure that the panorama sliding sun-
roof (Y page 88) and the roller sunblind
(Y page 89) can be fully opened again.
X If this is not the case, consult aqualified
specialist workshop. Problems with the slidin
gsunroof
Problem: the sunroo fcannot be closed
and you cannot se ethe cause. G

You could be severely or even fatally inju red
when closing the sliding sunroof with
increased closing forc eorifthe anti-entrap-
men tfeatur eisd eactivated. Make sure that
nobody can becom etrapped when closing the
sliding sunroo f.
If th esliding sunroof is obstructed during
closing:
X Immediately after the sliding sunroof
blocks ,pull the 3switch in the over-
head control panel down to the point of
resistance and hold it until the sliding sun-
roof is closed.
The sliding sunroof is closed with increased
force.
If the sliding sunroof is obstructed during
closing again:
X Immediately after the sliding sunroof
blocks, pull the 3switch in the over-
head control panel down to the point of
resistance and hold it until the sliding sun-
roof is closed.
The sliding sunroof is closed without the
anti-entrapment feature. Sliding sunroof (Coupé)

The system automatically switches off
approximately 20 minutes after it is set to
level 1.
X Make sure that the key is in position 1or
2 in the ignition lock.
X To switc hon:press button :repeatedly
until the desired heatin glevel is set.
X To switc hoff:press button :repeatedly
until all th eindicato rlamps go out.
Problems with the seat heating The seat heating has switched itself off pre-
maturely or cannot be switched on. The vehi-
cle's electrical system voltage is too low
because too many electrical consumers are
switched on.
X Switc hoff electrical consumers which you
do not need, such as th erear window heat-
ing or interior lighting. Switching the seat ventilation on/off
Switching on/off The three blue indicator lamps in the buttons
indicate the ven tilation level you have selec-
ted.
i If the battery voltage is too low, the seat
ventilation may switch off. X
Make sure that the key is in position 1or
2 in the ignition lock.
X To switch on: press button:repeatedly
until the desired ventilation level is set. i
Coupé: you can open the side windows
and the panoram asliding sunroof with the
key (Y page 75). The seat ventilation of the
driver's seat automatically switches to the
highes tlevel.
Cabriolet: you can open the soft top and the
rear side windows with the key
(Y page 78). The seat ven tilation of the
driver's seat automatically switches to the
highes tlevel.
X To switc hoff:press button :repeatedly
until all th eindicato rlamps go out.
Problems with the seat ventilation The seat ventilation has switched itself off
prematurely or cannot be switched on. The
vehicle's electrical system voltage is too low
because too many electrical consumers are
switched on.
X Switc hoff electrical consumers which you
do not need, such as th erear window heat-
ing or interior lighting. AIRSCARF (Cabriolet)

Very hot air can flow out of the AIRSCARF
ven tsin the head restraints when AIRSCARF
is in operation. This can cause burns on unpro-
tected skin near the AIRSCARF vents. Lower
the heating output in good time, when neces-
sary.
The AIRSCARF func tion warms the head and
nec karea of vehicl eoccupants with warm air.
Th ew arm air flows out of the hole sinthe head
rest raints.
The three red indicator lamps in the button
indicate the heating level you have selected. 98

Mak esure that nobody can become trapped
between the side window and the door frame
as the side windows are opened and closed.
Do not place objec tsor lean against the side
window swhen the yare being opened or
closed. Yo uorthe object scould be drawn in
or becom etrapped between th eside window
and the door frame as the window moves. If
there is arisk of entrapment, press the
g button again. Press the switch for stop-
ping, opening or closing the side windows in
the opposite direction as appropriate.
Coupé: make sure that nobody can become
trapped as the panoram asliding sunroof is
opened and closed. If there is arisk of entrap-
ment ,pres sthe g button again .Pres sthe
switc hfor stopping, openin gorclosing the
panoram asliding sunroof in the opposite
direction as appropriate.
X Convenience closing feature: press and
hold the gbutton until the side win-
dows and the sliding sunroof/panorama
sliding sunroof 28
are closed.
The indicator lamp above the gbutton
lights up. Air-recirculation mode is activa-
ted.
X Convenience opening feature: press and
hold the gbutton until the side win-
dows and the panoram asliding sunroof 28
have reached their original position.
The indicator lamp above the gbutton
goes out. Air-recirculation mode is deacti-
vated.
i If you open the side windows or the pan-
orama sliding sunroof 28
manually after
closing with the convenienc eclosing fea-
ture, they will remain in this position when
opened using the convenienc eopening fea-
ture. Switching the residu
alheat on/off
Th e" residua lheat" function is only available
with THERMOTRONI Cluxury 3-zone auto-
matic climate control.
It is possible to make use of the residual heat
of the engine to continue heating the station-
ary vehicle for up to 30 minutes after the
engine has been switched off. The heating
time depends on the temperature that has
been set.
Coupé: the "residua lheat" function only
work soptimally when the side windows and
panorama sliding sunroof are closed.
Cabriolet: the "residual heat" function only
work soptimally when the soft top is closed.
i The blower will run at alow speed regard-
less of the airflow setting.
i If you activate the "residual heat" func tion
at high temperatures, only the ven tilation
will be activated. The blower runs at
medium speed.
i It is possible that the "residual heat" func-
tion may be activated automatically an hour
after the key is removed. The vehicle is then
ventilated for 30 minutes to dry the air-
conditioning system.
X Turn the key to position 0in the ignition
lock or remov eit.
X To switch on: press theÌbutton.
The indicato rlamp above the Ìbutton
lights up.
X To switch off: press theÌbutton.
The indicator lamp above button Ìgoes
out.
i Residua lheat is deactivated automati-
cally:

and approved for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
This helps to preven tdamage to the vehi-

Position the load on the roof carrier in such
aw ay that the vehicle will not sustain dam-
age even when it is in motion.
Depending on the vehicle equipment,
ensure that when the roof carrier is fitted
you can:
R open the panorama sliding sunroof fully
R open the boot lid fully
! To avoid damaging or scratching the cov-
ers, do not use metallic or hard objects to
open them.
