from obstructed roll bars
If yo u lea veobjects or items of clo thing on
th e co vers of thero ll bars, this may restrict
th ero ll bars as they ex tend.
Consequently, thero ll bars cannot pr otect as
th ey are designed todo. Furthermore, the
objects may endanger vehicle occupants
when thero ll bars extend. #
Alw ays make sure that theth ere is
no thing in the sweep of thero ll bars. #
Alw aysstow and secure objects in the
ve hicle cor rectl y. The
roll bars are under the co vers behind the
re ar head restra ints. The roll bars are triggered
when danger of theve hicle rolling over is de tec‐
te d.
Once thero ll bars ha vebeen triggered, you can
no lon ger close a soft topth at is open. In this
case, consult the next qualified specialist work‐

Vehicles with memory function: Moving
th e front passenger seat toa more favo ura‐
ble seat position.
R Vehicles with multicontour seat: Increas‐
ing the air pressure in the seat side bols ters
of the seat backrest.

Sound: Pr ovided that the multi‐
media sy stem is switched on, generates a
brief noise signal tostimulate the innate pro‐
te ctive mechanism of a person's hea ring.

Toremo ve: press release knob 1inthe
direction of the ar row and pull out the head

Torefit: inse rtthe head restra int so that the
notches on the bar appear on the left when
vie we d in the direction of tra vel. #
Push the head restra int down until you hear
it en gage in position. #

th th e EASY -ENTRY function, the seat mo ves
fo rw ards if you ha vefolded the seat backrest
fo rw ards. This makes it easier for passengers to
ge t into and out of there ar of theve hicle. Ve
hicles without the memory function #
If necessar y,release the head restra int and
push it down. #
Tofold forw ards: pull seat release handle
1 and fold the seat backrest forw ards until
th e seat backrest engages. #
Push the seat as farfo rw ards as it will go. #
Tofold back: pushthe seat back horizon tally
by the seat backrest until it reaches the seat
position that wa s pr eviously set. #
Foldthe seat backrest back until you hear it
en gage . Do so in a smoo thmanner.
If th e seat backrest is not engaged, this will
be shown on the multifunction display in the
instrument clus ter.A wa rning tone also
sounds. #
Afterth e seat backrest has been folded
bac k,check the position of the head restra int
and set it tothe cor rect position. Ve

If yo u use the memory function toset the
seat or thesteering wheel, you and other
ve hicle occupants, especially children, could
be ent rapped. #
During the setting procedure of the
memory function, ensure that no body
parts are in the sweep of the seat or
th esteering wheel. #
If somebody becomes trapped, immedi‐
ately release the memory function posi‐
tion button.

Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
ga ses such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
ga ses can enter theve hicle interior if the
boot lid is open when the engine is running,
