The boot lid/tailgat eisequipped with an
automatic reversing feature. It reacts if asolid
object obstructs or restrict sthe boot lid/tail-
gat edurin gthe closin gprocedure .The boot
lid/tailgat eopen sagain automatically. The
automatic reversing function is only an aid
and is no tasubstitut efor your attentiveness
to th eboot lid/tailgat ewhile it is closing. G
WARNING
The reversing function does no treact:
R to soft, light and thin objects, e.g .small fin-
gers

This mean sthatthe reversing feature cannot
prevent someon ebeingtrapped in these sit-

WARNING
When the double locks are activated, the
doors can no longer be opened from the
inside .Peopl eint he vehicle can no longer get
out, e.g. in hazardous situations. There is a
risk of injury.
Therefore ,donot leave any peopl eunsuper-
vised in the vehicle ,particularly children, eld-
erly peopl eorpeopleinn eed of specia lassis-
tance. Do not activate the double lock when
peopl eare in the vehicle.
If the vehicle has been locked from the out-
side, the double lock function is activated as
standard. It is then not possible to open the
doors from inside the vehicle .You can deac-
tivate the double lock function by deactivat-
ing the interior motion sensor (Y page 91).
The doors can then be opened from the inside after the vehicle has been locked from the
outside.
The anti-theft alarm system is triggered if thedoor is opened from the inside .Switch off the
alarm (Y page 89).

WARNING
Parts of the body could become trapped dur-
ing automatic closing of the boot lid or tail- gate. Moreover, people, e.g. children, may be
standing in the closing area or may enter the
closing area during the closing process. There
is ar isk of injury.
Make sure that nobody is in the vicinity of the closing area during the closing process.
Use one of the following options to stop the
closing process:
R press the Fbutton on the key
R pullorp ress the remote operating switch
on the driver's door
R press the closing or locking button on the
boot lid/tailgate

to the rear when opened. Therefore ,make
sure that there is sufficient clearance

To avoid damaging the windscree

blades, make sure that you touch only the
wiper arm of the windscree nwiper.
! Never open the bonnet/tailgate if

rear window.
Never fold awindscree nwiper arm without
aw iper blade back onto the windscreen/
rear window.
Hold the windscree nwiper arm firmly when
you change the wiper blade. If you release
the wiper arm withou tawiper blade and it
fallso nto the windscreen/rear window ,the
windscreen/rear window may be damaged
by the force of the impact.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you have
the wiper blades changed at aqualified
specialist workshop.

rial can come into contact with hot vehicle

If you switch off the ignition while driving,
safety-relevant functions are only available
with limitations, or not at all. This could affect, for example, the power steering and the brake
