Yo u can help toprotect the environment by
operating your vehicle in an environmentally
re sponsible manner. Please obser vethefo l‐
lowing recommendations on ope rating condi‐
tions and pe rsonal driving style.
Operating conditions:
#Make sure that the tire pressure is cor‐
re ct.
#Do not car ryany unnecessary weight
(e.g. roof luggage rack s once you no
longe r need them).
#Ad here tothe service inter vals.
A regularly serviced vehicle will contri b‐
ute toenvironmen tal pr otection.
#Alw ays ha veservice workcar ried out at
a qu alified specialist workshop.
Pe rsonal driving style:
#Do not depress the accelera tor pedal
when starting the engine.
#Do not warm upthe engine while the
ve hicle is stationar y.
#Drive carefully and maintain a suitable
dist ance from theve hicle in front.
#Av oid frequent, sudden acceleration
and braking.
#Change gear in good time and use each
ge ar only uptoÔ of its maximum
engine speed.
#Switch off the engine in stationary traf‐
fi c, e.g. byusing the ECO start/ stop
function.
#Drive in a fuel-ef ficient manne r.

It is recommended that youre -use or recycle
materials firs t ins tead of just disposing of them. The
releva nt environmental regulations and
guidelines ser vetoprotect the environment and
must be strictly obser ved.

Use the3 button tooperate the panoramic
sliding sunroof and thero ller sunblind.
RThe panoramic sliding sunroof can only be
opened when thero ller sunblind is open.
RThe roller sunblind can only be opera ted
when the panoramic sliding sunroof is
closed.
#To start automatic operation: press/pull
th e3 button be yond the pressure point.
#To inter rupt automatic operation: press/
pull the3 button again.
Re strictions:
RVe hicles without a panoramic sliding sun‐
ro of: The automatic opening and raising fea‐
ture is available only whenthe sliding sun‐
ro of is closed.
RVe hicles with a panoramic sliding sun‐
ro of: The automatic raising feature is only
av ailable when the sliding sunroof is closed
or raised.
RThe panoramic sliding sunroof cannot be
opened if a roof rack is ins talled. The panor‐
amic sliding sunroof closes again automati‐
cally when it encounters resis tance. Au
tomatic reve rsing function of the sliding
sunroof
If th ere is an object obstructing the sliding sun‐
ro of during the closing process, the sliding sun‐
ro of opens again automatically. The automatic
re ve rsing function is only an aid and is not a sub‐
st itute foryo ur attentiveness.
#When closing, make sure that no body parts
are in the closing area.

WARNING Risk of becoming trapped

The reve rsing function does not react:
Rto soft, light and thin objects, e.g. small

If yo udriv e when the cargo compartment
fl oor is open, objects could be throw n around
and thereby strike vehicle occupants. There
is a risk of injur y,particular lyin theeve nt of
sudden braking or a sudden change in direc‐
tion.
#Alw ays close the cargo compartment
fl oor before a journe y.
#Toopen: holding theribbing, press handle
1 down.
#Lift the cargo compartment floor up byhan‐
dle 1.
#Fold out the hook on thest ra p on the under‐
side of the cargo compartment floor and
hook it into thera in trough.
#To close: unhook the hook from thera in
trough and fasten it tothe brac ket on the
under sideofthe cargo compartment floor.
#Fo ldthe cargo compartment floor down and
th en press handle 1down until it engages.

WARNING Risk of injury by exceeding
th e maximum roof load
When you load thero of, theve hicle center of
gr av ity rises and the driving characteristics
ch ange.
If yo uexc eed the maximum roof load, the
driving characteristics, as well as thesteer‐
ing and braking, will be greatly impaired.
#Ne verexc eed the maximum roof load
and adjust your driving style.

load in the "Technical data" section.

RequirementsROnly use roof rack ste sted and appr ovedby
Mercedes-Benz.
RMake sure that you can raise the sliding sun‐
ro of fully and open theta ilgate fully once the
ro of rack is ins talled.
RThe panoramic sliding sunroof cannot be
opened if a roof rack is ins talled. The panor‐
amic sliding sunroof closes again automati‐
cally when it encounters resis tance.

Cup holder
Installing or removing the cup holder in the
center console
& WARNING ‑ Risk of accident or injury
when using the cup holder while the
ve hicle is moving
The cup holder cannot secure containers
while theve hicle is moving.
If yo u use a cup holder while theve hicle is
moving, the conta iner may be flung around
and liq uidsmay be spilled. The vehicle occu‐
pants may come into contact with the liquid
and if it is hot, they could be scalded. You
could be dist racted from traf fic conditions
and you may lose cont rol of theve hicle.
#Only use the cup holder when theve hi‐
cle is stationar y.
#Only use the cup holder for containers
of theright size.
#Close the conta iner, particular lyifth e
liquid is hot.
#To remo ve:slide catch 2forw ards and pull
out cup holder 1.
#Toinstall: insert cup holder 1and slide
back catch 2.
% The rubber mat of the cup holder can be
re mo vedfo r cleaning, e.g. using clean, luke‐
wa rm wate r.
