First aid kit
The first aid kit is in the storage compart-
ment at the front edge of the front passen-
ger seat.

Pull tab1 upward.
Fold the covering forward.
Remove the first aid kit.
Vehicle tool kit, jack and spare wheel
The vehicle tool kit, jack and spare wheel
are stored in the compartment underneath
the third row seat cushions and footwell
(page 420) or underneath the cargo
compartment floor (E 55 AMG only).
The vehicle tool kit includes:
One pair of universal pliers
One towing eye bolt
One wheel wrench
One alignment bolt
One fuse extractor
Spare fuses
Collapsible wheel chock
A pair of glovesVehicles without foldable third row
seat (E 55 AMG only) - Vehicle tool kit,
jack and collapsible tire
The vehicle tool kit is located in the cargo
compartment underneath the cargo com-
partment floor.

2Unlocking
Pull release handle 1 and fold cargo
compartment floor upward.
If the cargo compartment floor is
locked, insert mechanical key
(page 429) into the lock and turn it to
position 2.
iCheck expiration dates and contents
for completeness at least once a year
and replace missing/expired items.

462 Practical hintsFusesFuses are designed to protect the electri-
cal circuits in your vehicle from a short cir-
cuit. If a fuse is blown, the component(s)
and systems secured by that fuse will stop
operating.

kit in the cargo compartment

Fuse extractor
The fuse extractor is located in the vehicle
tool kit in the cargo compartment
(page 419).

Only use fuses approved by Mercedes-Benz
with the specified amperage for the system
in question. Using other fuses may cause an
overload leading to a fire, and/or cause
damage to electrical components and/or
systems.
!Never attempt to repair or bridge a
blown fuse. Have the cause determined
and remedied by an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.!Keep the fuse boxes free by contamina-
tion and wetness. Otherwise, electrical
parts or systems could be damaged.

Main fuse box in passenger compartment
The main fuse box is located behind a cov-
er in the dashboard on the driver’s side.
1Recess in the cover

Open the driver’s door.
Insert flat, blunt object as a lever in
recess1 on the edge of cover2.
Loosen cover2 from the dashboard
using lever.
Using your hands, pull cover2 in di-
rection of arrow and remove.
Closing
Hook cover2 into the opening at the
front.
Press cover2 back on until it engag-
es.
Fuse box in cargo compartment
The fuse box is located behind the
left-hand trim panel in the cargo compart-
ment.
