X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions. Do not continue driving
under any circumstances.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away ( Ypage 110).
X Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
X Do not add brake fluid. This does not correct the malfunction.

ted on the front-passenger seat. The 45 indicator lamp also lights up.
The front-passenger air bag is therefore disabled.

BabySmart™-compatible child restraint system has been installed
on the front-passenger seat.
The BabySmart™ system is malfunctioning.

The front-passenger front air bag can be triggered unintentionally in the event of an accident.
There is a risk of an accident.
X Make sure there is nothing between the seat and the child
restraint system.
X Check that the child restraint system is installed correctly.
X If the 45 indicator lamp does not light up, have the
BabySmart™ system checked as soon as possible at a qualified
specialist workshop.
Do not transport a child on the front-passenger seat until the air
bag deactivation system has been repaired.

The LOW RANGE button has been pressed. The transfer case is in
the LOW RANGE off-road driving position and a differential lock is
engaged.
X Disengage the differential locks ( Ypage 134).
X Repeat the gearshift process.
TC NEUTRAL

The transfer case is in the Neutralneutral position.
A warning tone will also sound when the driver's door is opened
and the brake pedal is not depressed.
X Close the driver's door.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away ( Ypage 110).
X Shift the transfer case according to driving conditions(Y page 132).

tion. Other systems, e.g. BAS (Brake Assist), ESP ®
(Electronic Sta-
bility Program) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution), the
HOLD function, hill start assist, adaptive brake lights and ESP ®
trailer stabilization have also been deactivated.
GWARNING
The brake system continues to function normally, but without the
functions listed above. The wheels could therefore lock if you
brake hard, for example.
