being started without thecorrect SmartKey.
X To activate withtheSmar tKey: remove
the SmartKey fromtheignition lock.

activate withKEYLESS-GO start-func-
tion orKEY LESS-GO: switchtheignition off
and open thedriver's door.
X To deactivate: switchonthe ignition.
When leaving thevehicle, alwaystake the
SmartKey withyouand lock thevehicle. Any-
one canstart theengine ifavalid SmartKey
has been leftinside thevehicle.

same askey position 0047.Ifthe driver's door
is open, thisisthe same askey position 005A,
i.e. the Smart Keyhaving beenremoved.
If you switch theengine offwith thetrans mis-
sion inposition 005Eor005B, theautomatic trans-
mission shiftsto005C automatically.
With theSmar tKey: ifyou then open thedriv-
er's door orthe front -passenger dooror
remove theSmart Keyfrom theignition, the
automatic transmission shiftsto005D automati-
cally.
With theStar t/Stop button:ifyou then open
the driver's doororthe front -passenger door,
the automatic transmission shiftsto005D auto-
matically.
If you want theautomatic transmission to
remain inneutral 005C,e.g. when having the
vehicle cleaned inan automatic carwash with
a towing system:
X Vehicles
withtheStar t-Stopbutt on:
remove theStart -Stop button fromtheigni-
tion lock.
X Insert theSmart Keyinto theignition lock.
X All vehicles: switchtheignition on.
