stee ring wheel gearshiT paddle. If permitted, the

paddle being pulled.

Glide mode is characterised bythefo llowing:
R The combustion engine is disconnected from
th e driv etra in and continues torun in neutral.
R The transmission position display his sh own
in green.
Glide mode is activated if thefo llowing conditions
are met:
R Drive prog ram ; is selected.
R The speed is within a suitable range. R
The road's course is suitable, e.g. no steep
uphill or downhill inclines or tight bends.
R There is no trailer hitched up tothe trailer
hitch, and no bicycle rack Fitted.
R You do not depress the accelerator or brake
pedal (e xcept for light brake applications).
% Glide mode can also be activated if you ha ve

and 4ETS, 4MATIC impr oves
th e traction of your vehicle whene ver a driven
wheel spins due toinsu1cient traction. Yo
u can display the cur rent distribution of drive
to rque s on all four wheels in the head-up display
and in theright-hand display range of the instru-
ment display . The higher there specti vescale is
/lled, the higher the cor responding drive torque
is.
If yo ufa ilto adapt your driving style, 4MATIC can
neither reduce therisk of an accident nor override
th e la wsof ph ysics. 4MATIC cannot take account of
road, weather and tra1c conditions. 4MATIC is
only an aid. You are responsible especially for
maintaining a safe distance from theve hicle in
front, forve hicle speed, for braking in good time
and for st aying in lane.
% In wintry road conditions, the maximum e.ect
of 4MATIC can be achie ved only if you use
winter tyres (M+S tyres), with snow chains if

/ed elect rician. The charging cable supplied is set
to a countr y-speci/c maximum charging cur rent
va lue. When charging abroad, the maximum value
may exceed the permitted value forth at countr y.

ch arging cable is reconnected, charging at the
mains soc ket is not possible. The charging cable
must be replaced or theve hicle plug must be
ch ecked at a quali/ed specialist workshop,

mains soc ket are damaged, you could receive
an elect ric shoc k. #
Only use an undamaged charging cable. #
Avoid mechanical damage such as crush-
ing, abrading or driving overth e cable. #
Have a damaged vehicle soc ketre placed
at a quali/ed specialist workshop as
soon as possible. #
Never connect thech arging cable to a
damaged vehicle soc ket. *

up within their permissible limit values. The permissible limit

cle soc ket connection 8tothe stop. If the
wa llbox/charging station is not equipped with
a ch arging cable, inse rtthe plug of theve hi-
cle's charging cable into thewa llbox/charging
station soc ketto the stop.
Make sure that thech arging cable is not taut
when inser ted. The
# indicator lamp 4and status dis-
play 30ash orange and, as soon as the high-
vo ltage battery is charge d, green.
When thech arging cable is connected totheve hi-
cle, theve hicle cann otbe star ted or mo ved.
At the start of thech arging process, thech arge
le ve l display is shown in the Instrument Display
with a charging prediction. The charging predic-
tion either refers to the predicted charge leve l at
th e set departure time, or the time at which the
high- voltage battery will be fully charge d.
% Depending on thete mp erature, thefa n and
bat tery cooling system may audibly switch on
during thech arging process.
% Ifth eve hicle is idle for lengt hyperiods and
connected tothe mains suppl y,the high-volt-
age battery will be rech arge d automatically as
needed or when electrical consumers are
